Celebrate something today..

Hello Creatives

What a rollercoaster few weeks it has been..

I really think this post should have been titled
*Create* something today rather than Celebrate,
with a mountain of unfinished makes I share a
project (now finished) that I didn't get chance
to complete for Creative Artiste this month 😞

Time has been so sooo squeezed..

Created using unused Tim Holtz die cuts and
Stamperia greyboard, painted with PaperArtsy Fresco's
the postcard sits on a paint smudged journal page.
Framed with Stampers Anonymous Observations
cogs and gears stamp, embellished with washi,
machine stitch and lace.

With a nod to father figures on Fathers Day Today
there sits a Tim Holtz Paper Doll wearing his Party Hat
whilst the wise Tracy Evans Owl watches on high.

I'll leave you with a photo my Hubby took this morning..

*Blessing this Summer Solstice*

*Lets Celebrate Something Today*

Wishing you all the Happiest of Days

Stay safe & creative

Creative Artiste August #107 ~ Anything Mixed Media Goes

 Hello Creatives

First Friday of the month always brings a new Challenge

My August Journal page is created with lots of paper play,
using the rather lovely Stamperia SunFlower Art collection.

Fussy cuts and layering, paint pen and glossy accents
all shine a light on that extra detail.

Air clay sunflowers painted with acrylics, flicks of
dimension paste accentuate those golden wild riverside
grasses with dots of glitter glue making those relentless
no matter the weather wildflower poppy's shine through.

Edged with machine stitch topped with lace
this is very much where I like to be ...
My outdoor happy place painting or drawing
alongside my dog in Natures Magnificent Garden..

We hope you can join the Design Team HERE
@ Creative Artiste and play along with challenge #107
our Theme is always  Anything Mixed Media Goes..

Happy creative August everyone
Take care & stay Creative

Creative Artiste JUNE Mixed Media Challenge #83

 Hello Creative Friends

I do hope you are all keeping well?

How this year is flying by and again it's the first Friday
of a brand new month which must mean it's time for me to
our theme is ALWAYS Anything Mixed Media Goes..

June's Design Team project is a Steampunk man tag..

A collaboration of elements all brought together, starting with a
block print napkin collaged onto a tag, grit paste, moulded cogs,
gears and clock face applied then painted to achieve a rusty effect.

This dapper Tim Holtz Time Traveller has been stamped multiple times
coloured with pencil then cut and layered to give him added dimension.

Adhered onto the tag he takes centre stage accompanied by an
altered chipboard quote to complete my mixed media man tag.

Now we invite you to use a variety of mediums to create a
Mixed Media Masterpiece and share your creations with the DT

Wishing you all a safe and creative month ahead
it's been a busy few weeks for me, I look forward
to catching up with you all very soon...

Just Junk Journaling...

 Hello creative friends,

Already a week passes into March as I continue recycling packaging and
using scraps to make pocket sized Junk Journals to create in each month.

Here's March's JJ covered with rice paper and stamped flowers
painted in Spring time colours and very simply embellished...

with a Tim Holtz die cut and watercoloured bird resembling the
Blue Tit, she sings amid a Spring inspired textured background..

and because time didn't allow me to share last month
here's a small selection from Februarys Junk Journal...

Paper pockets filled with layered scraps with machine stitched edges.

Documenting my Son and his Girlfriends engagement announcement

and some mindful doodling as the door closed on February...

Please be safe creative friends..

Doorway to creativity..

Hello creative friends

Last weekend I was gifted a new journal with
pages made completely from recycled coffee cups.

As Valerie is December's host @ Art Journal Journey
often sharing her love for coffee I thought I'd dedicate
Valerie's theme and title to this new creative journal...

With stenciled crackle paste brickwork, I've adhered a
wooden door with decorative wreath and over door swag.

Modelled from memories of past visits to Dublin Ireland,
with it's rows of Georgian terraced house's and large doorways.
I wonder how many people have climbed those mossy steps and
will continue to visit family and friends throughout the years.

A timeless invitation of warmth, security and
companionship from the past, present to the future.

Which just leaves me to wish you all a very
cosy Christmas from my house to yours..

Stay safe and creative

Creative Artiste SEPTEMBER Challenge ~ #75 Anything Mixed Media Goes

 Hello Creative Friends

Time again to welcome you all to
our theme is ALWAYS *Anything Mixed Media Goes*

This month my mixed media make brings together previous
project left overs and things that never really came to be.

The stencilled box frame has seen many colours over the past
months before I settled on Prize Ribbon and tarnished brass.

A piece of clock face flexi mould pasted to a grey board heart was
cut to fit with precision inside the box aperture. Painted in similar
colours the heart is suspended over the embossed typewriter inner.

Adorned with die cut and painted colorize blooms an idea-ology tag
distressed to blend in with the frame colours completes the design.

Probably my favourite make of 2021 i'm always amazed by
what can be created with those little bits left behind..

Pop on over and see what the Fabulous Design Team
have created this SEPTEMBER over HERE..

Look forward to seeing your Mixed Media Makes..

Morning has broken...

 Hello everyone

I've been flicking through unfinished journal pages again and
came across this little cottage nestled amongst the tree's...

You can see i'd already started to work on it, over painting the collage
adding light, shade and bright coloured blossom of purple and yellow.

Those that visit know I love creating little scenes like these,
extending the tree's with pencil and paint, adding stencilled
flowers painted to resemble Dog Rose lifting their heads
up towards the morning light.

Using grit paste, I stencilled the corner, painting it grey.
I feel like i'm peeping over a dry stone wall at a magnificent
country landscape, how I wish I could call that house mine...

Give me the peace and tranquillity of early Summer mornings every
day of the week.. now all I need is the sweet sound of bird song.

Stay safe and creative everyone

Dearest neighbour..

Hello creative friends,

I hope you are all keeping well?
What glorious weather we've been having, teamed with a
couple of creative play days my weekend has been just perfect...

I've so many tags with techniques that never amount to anything,
as my minds been drawn to creating something special for my dear
neighbour's monumental 100 Birthday this year I've been playing
with lots of ephemera and stamped TH tickets, adding a die cut 100.
Funny thing is this stamp set is also SA's 100th Collection...

This napkin image reminds me of two little princesses, with big sis wearing
the crown. I'm sure my neighbour will be wearing her finest hat in celebration
of her special day when she receives her birthday greeting from the Queen.

Losing myself in the finer details of hand stitching, buttons and brads,
butterflies, flowers and lace, I attached a triple ring clasp creating a
tag flip journal, now all those extra ideas can stay close to hand..

Thank you so much for stopping by today
wishing you all safe sunny days

Creative Artiste's June Challenge #72 ~ Anything Mixed Media Goes

Hello Creative Friends,

First Friday of the month and time to welcome you
our theme is always Anything Mixed Media Goes.

This shared mixed media journal page was created some months back,
during cold dark days with a longing for some warmth and sunshine.

Torn papers collaged onto the page are painted with my finger,
as a magazine image pasted on top is over painted
adding back every little detail.

Tim Holtz Brushstroke flowers #1 are cut from fabric,
painted and sewn together with a recycled button.

Summer has very much began to show her face this past week
in my little part of the UK and i've really enjoyed seeing
the Birds, Bee's and Butterflies embrace it too..

Here's a little addition to fill that Summery Sky..

If you like to mix up your media, please come and share

Wishing you all sunshine

Guest Designer @ Try it on Tuesday ~ Feminine

 Hello Creative Friends,

Always an honour to be invited to be Guest Designer
@ Try it on Tuesday and a real pleasure to accept.

With their new fortnightly Theme of *Feminine*,
there's many ways to interpret that one single word.

For me something Feminine is soft and gentle..

This studio light stamp is so graceful with layered flowers,
and a little lace. It's busy background was replaced using
texture paste through a Stamperia Cosmos astronomy and
numbers stencil. Painted in delicate pastels ties
everything together so peacefully .

The Try it on Tuesday Team will love seeing your take
on their Feminine theme right HERE, they give the
warmest of welcomes and inspiration galore
from the super talented TioT design team.

BIG Thank you's from me...

Creative Artiste's *May Mixed Media* Challenge #71

Hello Creative Friends,

First Friday of the month so time to welcome
our theme is always *Anything Mixed Media Goes*

Today i'm bringing past things into the present...

This ATC is the last of a bunch made for gifts in 2020.
Created by stamping the Lily onto MDF the image was traced
using liner pen, painted with distress paint then covered with
UTEE and heat embossed several times to create a tile effect.

Making use of a broken picture frame onto it's backboard texture paste
is pushed through a stencil then painted in colours similar to the ATC.

Distress ink is painted through the same stencil onto the inner mount
with it's aperture painted and edged with tarnished brass.

The outer frame is painted in petrol blue with corner fastenings
attached to help strengthen the frame with it's missing glass.

Reassembled the ATC becomes the main focal with offcuts of lace
glued into every corner to compliment the finished redesign.

I love the vibrant colours of this mixed media frame..
Such a cheerful creation.

Motion and movement

 Hello creative friends

Flicking through unfinished journal pages I came
across this rice paper image of two ballet dancers.

How graceful they look, lost in the moment.

Stencil marks surrounding them almost slows down their motion,
calculating every movement. With gold stenciled gesso and gems
it seems to add to the drama like a huge spotlight on stage.

I love how the white highlights track and trace their steps.

The words *They gave no more thought* provokes emotion
for us to imagine their story through our own eyes...

Wishing you well this weekend,
Stay safe & creative

Imagination has no limit..

 Hello everyone,

Hope you all had a good weekend?

Mine was spent going through my sketch books and journals
i've so many unfinished pages and I'm amazed how many pages
have scenes, sketched, painted or built up with mixed media.

Adding a stamperia rice paper face I painted in hair and gave her
a lacy blouse. Words from the same rice paper seemed to give me
permission to include random die cuts adding to her eccentricity.

I love this huge layered die cut Rose by Lisa Jones,
this eccentric Victorian Lady wears it so well..

*As today is International Woman's Day..
Be proud of who you are..
YOU can be who ever you want to be*

Wishing you all a super week,
stay safe & creative

Delightful thing's

 Hello Creative Friends,

I've been discovering lots of stamped, coloured and cut images
recently that never quite made it to page. When I came across an
unfinished journal page displaying a huge pair of stencilled gold
scissors I thought this selection would sit so prettily upon it..

Edged with lace, pearls and a metal button it's like a gathering of
Spring where I love to paint, sew and sow delightful thing's outdoors.

Wishing you all a safe, happy
and creative weekend

Take care
Tracey xx

2020 Baker's Dozen

 Hello Creative Friends,

The last day of the year has arrived which means
I get to repost a handful of my favourite makes of 2020.

As many of my personal favourites I've not shared this year I'm
breaking tradition by starting with my favourite unshared piece
which is also my last page as Guest Host @ Art Journal Journey

The meaning of .. words.

This journal page bares my outstretched hand resting on a painted
foliage paper. Every day since creating this page I have placed a
new word or affirmation in the hand to start my day.. words help.
Today I'm placing Thank YOU a little word with a huge heart.

Shared with gratitude to all those that have been supportive,
shown kindness, strength and consideration. Been an ear or
virtual shoulder to cry on or just believed in me...

I thank YOU all.

Now time to share and revisit a tiny piece of my 2020

This little stamperia bird has been on quite
a journey with me this year...

I became very addicted to making these in 2020

Dr Maya Angelou

Thank you all so much for sharing your time with me

Let's hold on to hope that 2021 will
keep all that is precious to us safe
and a much happier one..

Creative wishes
