2019 Bakers Dozen

Hello Creative Friends 

It's hard to believe another year is close to an end 

2019 has seen more hurdles than the last and many changes 

for me and my family. With 2020 within grasp I never make

new years resolutions just a promise to allow myself some 

much needed guilt free time to do what I love this year. 

With that I will leave you with my Baker's Dozen a selection 

of my favourite makes of 2019 which all hold a special memory.

WOYWW as it's a day reserved for Family but here's

Day 22 ~ Following Intuition.. 

from finger painting I found this angel..

Day 23 ~ I Love You 

an easy task for me as I say those three little words many 

times a day and am blessed to receive those words right back.. 

Day 24 ~ Magic 

Things that take our breath away, for me it's all around. 

Take time to stop, look deeper and appreciate it's beauty.

.Everything Art ~ Kasia's Advent Calendar 8~21

Hello everyone

Whilst my house guests and family settle for the evening 

I've taken the opportunity to put this post together before 

I settle down myself, it's another busy day tomorrow..

Grateful to give myself 15 creative minutes each day  

Here's day's 8 to 21 of Kasia's Advent Calendar.

Day 8 ~ Snowflakes & Doilies 

..two beautiful things.

Day 9~ Breathe 

Take time to meditate each day... 

Day 11~ Be like a Tree. 

...let that bad energy drop like a falling leaf.. 

Day 12~ The Scents 

Cinnamon & ginger infused tea leaves add 

texture and aroma to this mixed media page.

Day 12 ~ Full Moon 

On the 12th day of the 12th month @ 

12 minutes past midnight.. i'm aligned with the stars 

dot by dot..

Day 13 ~ YES

In 2020 there will be much more of this in my life.

Day 14 ~ Random words. 

Taking a random page from an old book circles words and 

blank out the rest. Chosen words: Talk, Everyone, Laughing, 

good-naturedly, Seasons, Time, Earth, Magic, the Moon & Embrace,

It's as if your own story is created. 

Day 15 ~ Light 

Using wax as a resist, I really needed more time to play..

Day 16 ~ Where are you 

In the evening you'll find me right here..

Day 17~ Shadow 

Sketching a shadow is not as easy as it sounds when you are 

holding the subject of which shadow you want to trace. 

Day 18 ~ No one is watching 

Whilst all was calm i'd love to sing my heart out in 

the snow under the glisten of a Christmas Tree.

Day 19 ~ Tie loose ends

Using string.. 

Day 20 ~ Sounds 

Gifts being unwrapped and singing Happy Birthday 

to my Hubby... Recycle that wrapping paper.

Day 21 ~ Gifts 

The best things in life cost nothing.

Sketch ~ Paperbabe Challenge #109

Hello Creative Friends, 

It's the last Paperbabe Stamps challenge of 2019 

Use the sketch below to inspire you. 

The flower can be an embellishment/image 

and the words Paperbabe Stamps any sentiment

Using hickory smoke distress oxide backgrounds I've created three 

simple seasonal cards using the Joy, Peace and Love sentiments, 

embellished with painted Peaceful Flurries Fibre Board all 

stamped with co-ordinating Peaceful Flurries stamps. 

Buttons and beads add extra embellishment with dots of  

liquid pearls and a whisper of silver gilding wax to finish.

We hope you treat yourself to some creative time during this 

busy time of year and share your makes with us over HERE.

Hello everyone, 

Well it's been crazy here over the past couple of weeks. 

In between preparing for the festivities, guests and visits 

our dearest Daughter is also home from Sweden for Christmas. 

To add to the madness we've welcomed a new member to our family.. 

A gift to us all after losing our beloved dog Boni last March 

and an extra early Birthday present to Hubby who celebrates 

his special day this Friday. Meet Freya everyone 😍 

So using today as a round up of the past couple of weeks 

here's what's been happening on and off my work desk 

Christmas card making and writing...

I've had my money's worth out of these stamps this year. 

Batch made lots a couple of weeks ago with left overs 

for next year, just need to remember where I put them 

*SAFE* and who i've sent them too this year!

Fabulous cards received from Anne, Angela and Dorthe a beautifully 

intricate Angel and hearts, the red woven one now hangs on my Tree. 

We always save opening our cards until the Christmas Tree is up 

it's extra special to me to receive ones that are handmade.. 

Thank You Ladies so much.  

There's not been enough hours in the day to get online, 

read blogs or put any blogs of my own together but I 

have managed to keep up with Kasia's Advent Challenge.

Day's 1-7 are HERE just need to photograph 8-17 and have 

10 minutes to myself for day 18.. Can you believe it's 

only one week till Christmas.. eek 🌲

Everything ART ~ Kasia's Advent 1-7

Hello Creative Friends

Later than planned but as promised I'm sharing my journey
so far using prompts from Kasia's Advent Calendar 2019.

A colourway of green, flesh ochre and aubergine
i'm repurposing a Journal once created as my
calming space back in August 2018..

Here's my first week's pages.

Day 1 ~ The Postcard
Using an old postcard, scraps and colours from my palette
simple words send a message just for ME*..

Day 2 Fairy Tale
No time just now to read a book so a bookmark with a stamped modern day
image of Little Red Riding Hood is painted in the same colour palette.

Day 3 Allow
On a used envelope the word ALLOW is written in glue.
Left to dry over night paint is scrapped and smudges around it.

Day 4 ~ A Walk.
The mornings can be so dark this time of year.

Day 5 ~ Sticks & Twigs.
Mark making with gathered twigs I saw a scene in one page so drew a
window around it. The second page a found leaf is glued amongst the marks.

Day 6 ~ White on White
Something I could create all day and everyday..

Day 7 ~ Tea Time
Used Tea bag glued onto parcel paper with a quick sketch of my morning cuppa.

I've really enjoyed my first week of Kasia's Advent and
quite proud of myself for keeping up each daily...
Fingers crossed for the next week.

Winter ~ Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #108

Hello Creative Friends, 

WINTER is this fortnights theme over  

@ Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #108 

Here's what I got up to on a cold and frosty morning...

Gluing scrunched tissue onto a journal page, white gesso 

highlights the texture. Stamping Trees and Snowflakes 

into the open space adds to my Winter scene. 

Stamping the Paperbabe LEFT 3/4 View Dinky Face onto a 

separate page I gave her Micro Fringe Hair using the template and 

fashioned a Beanie Hat to keep her warm before cutting her out. 

Glued onto the mixed media background a glittery pom pom 

is added along with die cut words. As the snow glisten's 

it's as if she's "Walking in a Winter Wonderland"..

Hello everyone, 

How's that Christmas prep going?? 

It's only 3 weeks you know 😛 

A very quick post from me today where I share 

What's on my work desk this Wednesday #548 

Can't show the cards or things i've been making but..

thanks to Zsuzsa last week reminding me Kasia's Advent 

was starting on the 1st, I managed to throw a few things 

in a box and find a journal i'd made with loose pages. 

This advent challenge will give me a break during the run up 

to Christmas with the lid of the box a portable work surface.

I'll probably post my progress over the weekend.. 

Like an Elf I've lots to do for others this week 

so i'll catch up with you all later.
