Paperbabe Stamps Challenge ~ #94 Anything Goes

Hello Creative Friends

It's time for another Blog Challenge over at Paperbabe Stamps ,
with it's *Anything Goes* Theme it is a challenge for everyone.

You do not have to use Paperbabe stamps to join in but if you
do it will double the prize for one lucky random winner..!!

Here's my Paperbabe creation I share with you today

My latest embellishment obsession..

Stamping the large Peony onto Calico I painted using fabric paint.

When painted the Peony was cut out and paired with colour match
swatches of hessian and lace in which both act as my backing.

Running stitch secures the peony onto the fabrics remembering
to stuff with a little wadding before stitching all the way around.

Adding beads to represent stamen, the peony is cut
free leaving a border of the backing fabric exposed.

Teamed up with a handmade needle book this functional
embellishment makes the sweetest of pin cushions.

Time is very limited for me at the moment and i'd not
planned to share this creation just yet but making these
Peony embellishments has become my latest obsession
a handy size for on the go crafting whilst I catch my breath...

Why not pop on over HERE and share your latest obsession.

What's on your workdesk Wednesday #520 10th Anniversary

Hello creative Friends,

Today's an extra special day over at the stamping ground
as WOYWW #520 celebrates it's 10th Anniversary.

Three cheers to JULIA.. Hip hip hooray..
hip hip hooray, hip hip HOORAY!!..

I've only been part of the WOYWW gang for a Year but it's warm
welcome made me feel like i'd been there from the very start.

Caught this little critter munching on early morning nibbles,
he must have got word there's a party going on.. 😁

My desk has barely changed since last week so no *ATC
swaps from me but there's an ATC card ready for posting
to our amazing host Julia later today.

I think the words sum up this Wednesday gathering perfectly..

A door that's always open, safe with a welcoming hug.
Home is where the heart is and where our story begins...

I'm also sharing this with the lovely ladies over at Tiot
who are just as welcoming and also celebrating their
10th Anniversary..! Congratulations lovelies... Lets Party!!

Still busy with life stuff limiting my online time
but it's a migraine free week so far... YAY!!

I'll be round to see WoywW asap.

What's on YOUR workdesk Wednesday #519

Hello Creative Friends

Desk sharing time again over at the Stamping ground
thanks to Julia it's a regular Wednesday meet up..

This desk view is not the one I'd planned to show today
but I realised yesterday's tidy desk photo displayed upcoming
DT work so I've had to amend it this morning... silly me!!

This view makes me feel very giddy...

so here's a desk close up.

I found those little paints at the back of a cupboard.
Not sure what ever happened to Luminarte H2O's..?

The foam tray they were stored in had fallen apart but a
spritz of water soon activated these highly pigmented
pots of shimmer as if they were used only yesterday.

I last used these in 2013 for some Wedding Invites.
Happy to have been reunited with these little pots.

A busy couple of weeks for me, lots of running around and
medical apps so i'll be in and out of blogland when ever I can.

I'll catch up with you all asap
Take good care everyone

P.S still suffering with the migraines... I think it's my age! 😁

Paperbabe Stamps ~ Sketch Challenge #93

Happy Friday Creative Friends,

There's a new challenge theme over at Paperbabe Stamps
and this fortnight we give you a sketch prompt.

*Use the Herringbone image to create a background,
the tag maybe your focal, the "Paperbabe stamps" word can
represent any sentiment and the flower any embellishment...
it really is that simple.

Play and create, flip it, turn it and be inspired by it.
You do not have to use Paperbabe Stamps to play along...

Here's what I've created and how it came to be...

Onto an A4 journal page, a background was created playing with the
chequerboard stencil to add flat and dimensional texture alongside
left over book pages, paper snippets, washi and loose threads.

All calmed down with a few brush strokes of white gesso...

Shading with pencil around the aperture within the book page I stamped
the comfort Zone sentiment onto deli paper and applied to the page.

Creating a Female face using the Paperbabe mini head and torso
template and mini female face stamps I scribbled in her hair.

Cutting the face out with a Tag die, the colouring begins
using alcohol markers and a selection of pencils.

Embellishing the tag with left overs, lace and paperbabe
hand painted media blanks I arranged them to flutter around her.

I love how those wings in the background appear to belong to her.

There's plenty more to see over HERE from the Paperbabe DT
pop on over and join the Sketch Challenge Fun.

A moment away from the weekend lets hope it's a creative one!

Take Care everyone
Hugs Tracey xx

What's on your workdesk Wednesday #518

Hello everyone,

It's Wednesday and time for another show and tell over at
Julia's stamping ground the place we share what's on our
workdesks each Wednesday, it's time for WoywW #518

Today's desk is virtually untouched from last week
had a stinker of a migraine the past week making it
near impossible to concentrate on anything in this corner.

So apologies to anyone I missed visiting in blogland but it's
difficult to read with the feeling of hot pins through the eyes.

I've woke this morning feeling a little sniffy & sneezy
so i'm hoping the lurgy isn't coming to visit.

This crafty area is due a much needed tidy up so I can find
what I need to crack on with and tick things off my to do list.

It's lashing down here so with a free day i'll be taking you all
in there with me for company after i've had a coffee.

Look forward to seeing WoywW

What's on your Workdesk Wednesday #517

It's Wednesday... time for WoywW #517

Side tracked by a free day and the promise of fair weather
more odd jobs and a date with the washing machine called.
I can think of much better ways to spend a free day.

I'm sneaking in late with my shoe's off tonight on tip toes,
thanks for leaving the door off the latch Julia.

So's not to miss out on Julia's weekly round up over at the stamping
ground i'm sharing What's On my Workdesks this Wednesday...

Although my workspace is very #boring with a box full of WIPS's
needing TLC before the end of the month.. HELP...!!!

So here's a close up of a tag created using unused bits and bobs.

My plan was to blog and share this over at Tag Tuesday but
time's running short this week, chasing my tail and everyone else's...
So i'll just leave it to rest here.. i'm sure you ladies wont mind :)

Look forward to our meet up over at
the stamping ground to see WoywW...
I'll try not to wake you 😅

Mini Album Makers ~ May Challenge

Hello Creative Friends

Welcome to the MAY Mini Album Makers
Anything Goes Album Challenge.

This month I have created a *Creatives Companion*
an Album to keep papers used often closer to hand.

Here's those very simple How to Do's...

Cutting sheet music, book pages, velum, canvas and
watercolour paper using the Sizzix Bigz Hedgerow Die.

I also used it to cut greyboard twice covered with canvas and
embossed using the Mosaic Gems 3D Textured embossing Folder.

These will act as the front and back cover of the album.

I used the Magnificent Butterfly Bigz Die to cut
greyboard and lace purely for embellishing the cover.

Onto the back cover glue holds each Butterfly body
leaving those wings free. Layering one page on top
of the other the Butterfly album begins to emerge.

When happy with the amount of album pages the greyboard
and lace embellished Butterfly cover are glued firmly in
place along with a hand crafted wire and beaded body.

I decided to leave the albums raw edges untouched
making it much easier to identify it's page selection.

Bite sized pages in one convenient album it's Butterfly
wings make fabulous notes to leave in loved ones lunchboxes.

With additional lace and buttons to embellish this album makes
the perfect companion for journaling and mixed media projects.

PLEASE NOTE: No Butterflies were harmed in this creation!

There's a Funkie Junkie PRIZE Package up for grabs this month,
so pop on over HERE and check out what treats the amazing
MAM DT have created for you this Merry Month of May..
and share your Mini Albums with the Team.

Thank you for stopping by today.
Take good care everyone.

Sending Creative Hugs your way
