WOYWW #491

Happy Woyww #491

It's a weekly Wednesday meet up over at the stamping ground
and a chance to share and catch up with everyone and their creativity.

Can I say again a HUGE Thank you for all your well wishes last week.

Hubby is doing well and the Doctor's and Cardio Rehab are pleased with his progress.
The door bell and phone have been very busy i'm surprised he's had any rest at all.

This weeks desk contains gathered stamps and dies ready for Christmas cards.
Keeping everything crossed this weekend will be quiet enough to make a start.

A left over Thank you card is visible, maybe this one can be for you lovely people.

I did manage to find time to open my Birthday cards and gifts, albeit a week late.
My dearest children spoilt me with a new laptop, they obviously were sick of trying to
update and fix my old #unfixable. After forgetting lots of passwords and transferring
lots of files i'm now up and running again and faster than I have been for years.. YAY!!!

An appointment free day today means I get some creative time
so i'm hoping to finish off this little lady before the witching hour ends...

Have fun with those Trick or Treaters and Happy Halloween.

Look forward to seeing #WOYWW thanks to Julia

WOYWW #490

Hello everyone..

It's Wednesday.. that day in the week when we share WOYWW
and visit others thanks to Julia over at the Stamping ground..

Here's the secret I was hiding last WOYWW, a pile of cards that gradually got larger
over the week as a milestone Birthday was heading it's way for me last weekend
but those cards and pressie's remain unopened..

After my Husbands hospital appointments last woyww the rest of the week
became a bit of a blur as sadly in the early hours of Saturday morning
my Hubby was rushed to Hospital where he suffered a heart attack.
First response, Paramedics, Cardiologist
and the whole Cardio Team were fantastic.

I'm happy to say after a very worrying few days he's doing well after his surgery
and was aloud home yesterday with a bag full of reading material, medication
for life, under strict instructions to rest to aid his recovery...!

I've not really taken in what's happened, think I'm still in shock to be honest..

Take good care everyone, i'll catch up with everyone asap

Autumn through a Fisheye Lens

Happy Friday everyone,

I'm sharing a canvas today created using a beautiful napkin i've had for a long time.
Adhered to a round canvas using matte medium I also covered around the edge.

Stamping a visible image quote onto rice paper, I adhered this also with
matte medium and edged parts of the canvas with Art stones and beads .

Die cut leaves coloured with Distress Oxide Inks and
detailed with Alcohol pens embellish and frame the image.

Melted wax was brushed over the leaves and buffed when dry.
Gently crushing the leaves helps create a more realistic appearance.

Dots of white pen adds blemishes to those leaves with two found alder
catkins glued amongst them completing my Autumnal round canvas.

I love how the shape of the canvas and curvature of the bench
helps create the illusion of looking through a fish eye lens.

Who wouldn't wish to sit upon that bench, gather
your thoughts and admire that Autumn splendour..?

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend what ever your plans.

That's Crafty Reveal.

Happy Sunday Everyone,

It's been a very wet and windy weekend in the midlands.
I hope you are all keeping well and treating yourself to a relaxing day
or maybe spending your day with family or friends?

This post is a reveal of the latest That's Crafty products
including stamps, stencils and new mediums.

There's lots to see.. so please enjoy.

Created by playing with Flat Matte Sprays and the Dianthus stencil and masks,
I painted, spritzed and lifted the ink off. This piece was just a test piece that was
far to nice to discard. With one of Lynne's new Affirmations it made a pretty card.

Onto a greyboard Long Tag that i'd scraped with Gold interference paint I added
water to the Walnut Crystals and used it as paint letting creativity be my guide.

Edged with a fine liner pen dots of multi surface paint create an Autumnal scene.

Using the Dragonfly and Lace Doily Stencils in different ways.

Running the dragonfly mask on black card through the sizzix big shot plus.
I clear embossed those raised areas and painted the debossed Dragonfly with blue
and green interference paint the embossing helped keep it all within the lines.

Glued onto a long tag adding gem stone eyes & a fitting affirmation completes the design.

Painting first with Gesso, Texture paste was pushed through the
Lace Doily stencil and a wash of Blackberry spray applied.

Multi surface paints and posca pens bring the magnificent detail of the doily to life.
Walnut spray and crystals define those shady areas with a sprinkling of crystals
left to find their own way with a spritz of water.

Given words from Lynne's affirmations complete the final tag.
I think this one maybe my new favourite *Favourite*...!!

Thank you for sharing your precious time.

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Until next time

Paperbabe *Anything Goes* Challenge #84

Hello Creative Friends

It's Anything Goes over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog this fortnight
and we'd love you to share your creativity with us over HERE.

Pop on over and see what the Design Team have been up to..
There's a prize for one random winner every fortnight..

Here's what I got up to one rainy play day.

As Halloween and Dia de (los) Meurtos approach I chose to mix and match
the male, female and sugar skull stamps as they all work perfectly together
alongside those Paperbabe Portrait templates.

The daisy stamp from the sugar skull set was used to create a lace effect.
With the outer edge of the torso template acting as a mask it keeps
the stamp within the lines... such a time saver..

Again those template edges act as a guide but this time helped me add those
darker areas whilst still keeping the shape of the Blunt Bangs hair style.

Adding my favourite shades of watercolour pencil and paint, I find a good
gesso invaluable as it not only adds those important highlights but also
tones down over worked areas with what ever medium you choose.

Keeping those colour tones similar a dot of black diamond glitter glue
has been added to the centre of each flower to bling it up just a little.

The rose from the sugar skull set has been stamped onto a colour wash background
and coloured with watercolour pencils. Cut out they are ready to add to my page.

Used to embellish the hair and garment those final
gesso highlights complete my Paperbabe Journal page.

I'm very much in my comfort zone with portraiture but
the Paperbabe face stamps and templates give me the confidence
to share the magic they can create, much more than my own sketches.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Wishing you all a super weekend.

WOYWW #488

Hello creative Friends,

Like the domino's effect my family one by one have fallen with the Flu Virus.
It's been an exhausting two weeks with no option but to down those crafty tools and
take a break from blogging having no time or energy left at the end of each day..

Happy to report all is quiet on the flu front and it's good to be back today as it's time
to join in with WOYWW courtesy of Julia our host who will pull me back inline
and get my blogging and visits back on track over at the stamping ground.

Today's desk is full of WIPs along with my travel art case as I spent
the weekend with friends in Kent to give my support to their charity work for
Sarcoma UK and Nordoff Robbins.

I know they read my blog so may I take the opportunity to say in a world that can be so selfish I  am blessed to have fabulous friends, who dedicate their time and and talent
for the wellbeing of others even when struggling with their own.
*You are ALL AMAZING..!!*

Those few days away have been so uplifting and it sure does put that
*Me time* in perspective..

Look forward to catching up with everyone in between
finishing off some of those overdue WIP's

Creative Hugs...

*I've missed you all*
