Vincent's/Tracey's Chair...

Hello Creative Friends,
I hope you are all keeping well ?

I've been somewhat quiet in blogland.

This week was reserved for a dear friend we sadly lost in January,
time to pay respect, spend time with friends and say our goodbyes.

This poignant piece I share with you today.

Some of you already know I have a love for *Vincent*
This stencil is designed by the amazing Donna Downey,
one of many in her signature series and in my collection.

This is indeed Van Gogh's Chair... my way!

Blending ink through the stencil lay down those important outlines.
A watercolour wash acts as a foundation for my colour palette.

Unlike Vincent's original there is no pipe and tobacco placed on this chair.

I'm not sure if this was Donna's intention?

I chose to sketch in a pencil, for making marks which can easily
be erased and a pair of glasses, worn to see the finer detail or
removed to blur out the surrounding world.

Finished with acrylics you'll see no onions in the wooden box behind;
I chose to leave it empty... It does say Vincent on it after all.

Painted in the style of Vincent with my own signatures.
My yellow chair is complete...

Thank you for stopping by today, i'm looking forward to playing catch up
with you all this weekend and seeing what you've all been up too.

Take care everyone & look after each other..

Creative wishes
Tracey xx

Losing a friend is traumatic. I feel this is a celebration and a tribute to your friend.

I was dumbfounded when I read that Vincent's chair had a pipe and tobacco on it. My mouse pad is Vincent's bedroom with the yellow chair and bed. I never noticed these before, so had to stop and see what you were talking about. I was truly impressed with how true to form your yellow chair was. It is fabulous. I'm equally pleased you shared it with us at Art Journal Journey. I love how you made this chair your own, too!!

WOW - just stunning! To use a stencil in such a creative way is fantastic! And very creative to add your own things on this chair! The word Vincent is very identical!
I am thrilled you linked such a great artwork to my theme "Yellow" at AJJ! By the way Van Gogh was a lover of yellow color.
Wish you a happy coming weekend, after sad times because of loosing a friend! Rike x

Wonderful Tracey, and I hope a bit of therapy for you this week. It takes a long time to come to terms with a goodbye, and I think my mind processes better when my hands are occupied.

Tracey you have totally captured Vincent's style, did you study him in art school or something? Because I can remember you did a take on his starry night work....and that was stunning too. It is like a vincent/Tracey infused work of art. A wonderful tribute to your late friend tracey. Healing hugs (( )). Xxxxxxxx

An absolutely beautiful interpretation of Vincent's chair painting Tracey and it looks amazing!
Sorry to read of your troubles losing a friend and your hubby's heart attack. Hoping that your other half is now well on the road to recovery.
Sorry for my lack of visiting as I too have had family issues losing my dear mother in law last September, my father in law having a hip replacement after a bad fall then suffering pneumonia followed by a mild stroke in December! A lot of my time has been spent doing things to help so no me time for an age.
Hopefully things are now improving.
