Creative Artiste #130 ~ Anything Mixed Media Goes

 Hello Creatives 

Welcome to Creative Artiste's September Challenge #130 

where our theme is always Anything Mixed Media Goes.. 

Here's my monthly DT make using a multitude of mediums.

On a stenciled background I heat embossed Antique Linen 

distress embossing glaze then stamped Studio light Forget me 

nots by Jennie's mindful Art onto an A6 size kraft postcard 

Repeating the stamping process on offcuts, I then painted, 

fussy cut and layered both buds and leaves finishing with 

yellow beads to form the eye of every flower...

Edging with faux stitch, washi and rub-ons to frame the topper, 

an enamel metal pin badge holds on to torn out text tightly 

displaying the words *Forget me Not*

September is World Alzheimer's Month, I am sure like myself 

you will know of family members, friends or friends of friends 

that have been affected by this devastating disease.. 

As a carer I am thinking of you all..

Just Junk Journaling...

 Hello creative friends, 

Already a week passes into March as I continue recycling packaging and 

using scraps to make pocket sized Junk Journals to create in each month. 

Here's March's JJ covered with rice paper and stamped flowers 

painted in Spring time colours and very simply embellished... 

Inside a page for Valerie's Spring Theme @ Art Journal Journey 

with a Tim Holtz die cut and watercoloured bird resembling the 

Blue Tit, she sings amid a Spring inspired textured background..

and because time didn't allow me to share last month 

here's a small selection from Februarys Junk Journal...

Paper pockets filled with layered scraps with machine stitched edges. 

Documenting my Son and his Girlfriends engagement announcement 

and some mindful doodling as the door closed on February...

Today i'm sharing a journal book cover..

 A beautiful hand bound journal filled with recycled paper pages 

a gift given to me last Christmas from the very talented creator 

of PaperBabe Stamps Kim Costello, it's blank canvas inspired 

me to design a cover dedicated it to PaperBabe things.. 

Stitching Vintage Doll Paper to the cover an Ornate frame 

holds a die cut and stamped portrait head wearing CELESTIA 

pre cut hair all coloured using paint, copics and pencils. 

With lace added to protect it's hand stitched spine a 

fibreboard Whimsical word glued to greyboard is distressed 

and painted to compliment colours and complete it's design.

Welcome to Creative Artiste's 

Anything Mixed Media Goes ~ FEBRUARY CHALLENGE #68

This month I have an altered notebook to share with you BUT 

before I do may I say I lost a whole weekend early January 

cutting and water colouring these stunning colorize blooms, 

my main focal this month and I loved every second of it..

I digress.. oopps now where was I..? 

Oh yes onto those altered notebook how to do's.. 

First covering a plain notebook in Kraft card embossed using Tim Holtz 

Texture Fades 3-D Typewriter folder, I dry brushed with black gesso 

adding a tickle of gilding wax to highlight those typewriter keys. 

There's not many mixed media creations of mine that escape without 

the addition of lace and when teamed up with pearls it just adds to 

the romance.. The strawberries and champagne of mixed media.. 😊

Cutting out individual letters from the embossed Typewriter folder

I chose to spell the word noted as my intention for this book 

was to use it to document and sketch creative ideas.

Layered leaves, buds and rose with twisted wire and bead 

stems it just brought everything together harmoniously..

Complete with it's pearl & glass heart junk jewellery bookmark 

roll on spring so we can enjoy those pretty blooms for real !!..

A little Tree Dressing...

 Hello everyone, 

How you all keeping ?? 

My Christmas Tree is taking a break this year, 

I just couldn't face decorating it alone, always 

something we do as a family but like most families 

they are all staying safe in their own homes in 2020.

A small potted Christmas Tree takes it's place with 

hope it will survive the move outdoors in the new year.

In need of a little decoration I thought i'd paint these 

stamperia paper clay baubles to brighten things up a little.

Dressed with Tim Holtz pine twine, wired beads, tinsel and berry bells..

they remind me so much of the mercury glass baubles 

from my childhood and bring some indoor vintage cheer.

It's challenge #67 @ Creative Artiste

our theme is always *Anything Mixed Media Goes* 

For my December DT creation i'm sharing a mixed media card.

 

Here's how it all came to be.. 

Using the Rustic Lantern Bigz die from Tim Holtz 

I cut out the image from calico covered mount board.

Liner pen and a tickle of texture paste adds 

depth and dimension to the rustic lantern's frame. 

Painted with silver and black ink the inner globe is 

blended with vintage distress ink heat embossed using 

clear embossing powder to simulate it's shielding glass. 

A fashioned wire handle is attached to the frame

Bigz Tattered Poinsettia's are die cut and painted, teasing the leaves 

before gluing together adding those final dimensional central flowers.

A mini replica of an original once belonging to my late 

Father in Law, it helped guide his way down the mines as a boy. 

Created for my Mother in Law as a Christmas card 

I hope it shines a brighter light as 2021 approaches..
