 Hello Creatives

December already 🎅
How fast did we get here this year..!!
with it I bring the last challenge of 2025 @ Creative Artiste

My Design Team Project came about making use of leftover
Christmas bits, card backgrounds and paint waste with a
meeting of two projects to embrace the season 🎄

This washi taped, paint scraped background reminded me of a snowy
scene on a cold Winters night, leftover from my handmade Christmas
cards there's stamped and embossed script, art yarn edging with
large snowflake buttons included into the mix.

This felt Robin I discovered @ Thimble wood created by the
super talented Michelle you will find her lovely kits HERE

One of many I've been making for loved ones each given a
different embellishment.. this one with a beaded belly and
jingle bell holly berries 😊

Displayed on the last page of my 2025 journal
it's a reminder of the year gone by and future ahead..

Pop over HERE and see what the Creative Artiste team have
designed to inspire you and please share your own creations @

Art Journal Journey ~ The meaning of.. Christmas

Hello Creative Friends.

I know Christmas starts on the eve for many of you
so let me begin by wishing you Greetings of the Season...

As Guest Host @ Art Journal Journey here's a journal page
to share the love I have for those rich colours of the season.

Upon a collage page there's a hand drawn and painted poinsettia,
surrounded by die cut sprigs, with it's holly leaves and berries
I finished with dots, dabs and snow white gesso splashes...

*The meaning of..* Christmas: my gift to you

Christmas has a different meaning for us all, with gift giving and
symbol of faith. The coming together of friends and family or just
a time to wind down during the holiday before a new year begins.

A time for reflection and to remember past loved ones,
it's certainly a different Christmas for us all this year.

Wishing everyone a safe
and happy holiday.

Creative wishes

AJJ ~ The meaning of.. Winter

 Hello creative friends,

So Winter begins.. frosty days and nights ..

As a child every Christmas Eve i'd be taken to see
the Christmas lights in the City and choose one present.
Always a book or a set of felt tip pens..

I used this napkin last December and remembered how taken
Elizabeth was thinking I had drawn it, so thought i'd use it again.

Can you see where the napkin finishes and where I begin..??

painting in a little toy shop there was always one on the high street full
of dolls houses, the biggest of teddy bears and toys of children's dreams

Mesmerized by the twinkling lights, BIG show stopper star on the tree
and the sweet cinnamon smells from the bakery filling the night air..

Wrapped up in my Winter coat, woolen mittens, scarf and hat
I always hoped for a sprinkling of snow but it never came..

Warm winter wishes

A little Tree Dressing...

 Hello everyone,

How you all keeping ??

My Christmas Tree is taking a break this year,
I just couldn't face decorating it alone, always
something we do as a family but like most families
they are all staying safe in their own homes in 2020.

A small potted Christmas Tree takes it's place with
hope it will survive the move outdoors in the new year.

In need of a little decoration I thought i'd paint these
stamperia paper clay baubles to brighten things up a little.

Dressed with Tim Holtz pine twine, wired beads, tinsel and berry bells..

they remind me so much of the mercury glass baubles
from my childhood and bring some indoor vintage cheer.

Wishing you all a super, safe Sunday.

Creative wishes

Creative Artiste Challenge #67 ~ Anything Mixed Media Goes

 Hello Creative Friends

our theme is always *Anything Mixed Media Goes*

For my December DT creation i'm sharing a mixed media card.

Here's how it all came to be..

Using the Rustic Lantern Bigz die from Tim Holtz
I cut out the image from calico covered mount board.

Liner pen and a tickle of texture paste adds
depth and dimension to the rustic lantern's frame.

Painted with silver and black ink the inner globe is
blended with vintage distress ink heat embossed using
clear embossing powder to simulate it's shielding glass.

A fashioned wire handle is attached to the frame

Bigz Tattered Poinsettia's are die cut and painted, teasing the leaves
before gluing together adding those final dimensional central flowers.

A mini replica of an original once belonging to my late
Father in Law, it helped guide his way down the mines as a boy.

Created for my Mother in Law as a Christmas card
I hope it shines a brighter light as 2021 approaches..

I look forward to seeing your

Stay safe everyone

What's on your Work desk? Wednesday #546

Hello Creative Friends,

Time to share what's on our Wednesday work desks again.

Can you believe it's only 5 weeks till Christmas..?
With that in mind I spent a couple of hours on Sunday
trying to work out ways of using another one of those
stamps sat awaiting its turn on my borrowed desk.

These handful of cards are not quite finished yet, I
just couldn't decide if I liked black or grey houses!
What do you think..??

Hope this weekend I can finish them and
move on to the next stamp set in the pile.

Another busy week my end so i'll
catch up with you all asap..

Take care everyone

From one little Star..

Hello Creative Friends,

I hope you are all keeping well and your Christmas crafting is completed?

Mine has had many false starts this year and i'd given up on my handmade
Christmas cards resorting to previous years leftovers and charity cards.
...but whilst looking for an embellishment to add to a tag I came across this
die set. Loving the shape of the large star I just had to see how it all cut.

Lost in the moment with the aid of some Mercury Glass glitter glue
and visible image sentiments before I knew it I'd created Christmas Cards,
Tags and Carrier cards for my handmade Christmas Tree ornaments.

I even made a batch of New Year Cards.

The hammered cream card on Kraft looks so fresh and clean.
Who would have thought that one star could have inspired all these.

I'm already thinking of making more of these it's certainly sparked an idea...
is it wrong to be thinking of Christmas 2019 before the Joy of 2018..?

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend what ever your plans,
For me it's time to decorate that Christmas Tree..

TioT Winter Wonderland ~ Guest Designer

Hello Creative Friends.

I'm delighted to be back as a Guest Designer over at Try it on Tuesday
and with the countdown to Christmas now on this fortnights theme is...

Here's what I created along with those How to do's..

Using a mini clipboard i'd covered in Holly collage paper and washi tape I
Stamped script and pushed paste through stencil words to add dimension.

Altering the clip with grunge paste I reattached it to the board
adding a wash of walnut stain all over the clipboard to create age.

Stash pattern papers were used to die cut, Holly, Mistletoe and Fir
branches, coloured and shaded with a combination of pens and ink.

Those die cut Holly leaves really accessorise the collage board
along with a handful of flat back pearls and dots of embossing powder.

Mistletoe, Fir branches and wire wrapped pearls are all tied
together with a little red bow adding feature to the clip.

Unloved paper stash has been die cut using the largest die from TH Stacked
Deckle set to create blank notelets/Card Toppers and Tags ready to decorate
and give as a token of appreciation or label a given gift.

Stamped, embossed and embellished, one I've painted in black Gesso
creating a changeable Chalkboard... How many more sleeps??

Many toppers amongst this pile await their Christmas card completion..
Here's a couple created using double sided sticky tape & a Holiday word die.

A dab of mica powder rids that excess sticky tape creating a *Twofer*
Two toppers, tags or notelets from one die.. Now that I like..

With a die cut December Topper embellished with left over Holly Leaves
it's created a great cover to hide all those Christmas toppers within it.

Think I just might have to create an all year round one of these..
as it would be invaluable to have a ready made card topper to hand.

Please pop on over HERE and see what the creative
TioT team have created for you this fortnight.

I'm sure you will all have some Winter Wonders to share.

Wishing you all a wonderful week and
a BIG Thank you to the TioT Gang for having me.
It's been a pleasure..

Christmas comes Early..

Hello everyone, it's looking a little chilly on my blog today
with my first Christmas post of the year.

It's time for another That's Crafty Blog Challenge over HERE
with this fortnights theme being *Only Cards*
and a chance for you to win £20 to spend in the
That's Crafty online Store.

Here in words and pictures is my
*Christmas comes Early Card*

Using the Newly released Christmas Stamp Set 2 Designed by Donna Gray
I stamped the focal image multiple times, colouring with water colour pencil.
Onto the main card image I painted the background using Icicle Blue Multi Surface paint
and would later layer up both house and trees to create dimension.

I created snowfall by layering up lace, threads and strips of Tyvek previously heated gently with a heat gun to shrink and create texture. All fabric and threads were sewn onto the card with the Tyvek glued on last as it can become hard in places and difficult to sew.
A touch of Multi Surface Antique Silver helps create shadow and
micro beads help to fill in the gaps as well as adding a little interest.

Falling snow was achieved by pushing White Multi Surface Paint
through the Christmas Tree Stencil onto the card background.
This stencil not only has a large lace effect tree but also
the most useful snowflakes and snow drop dots included.
I can see this stencil being a firm Christmas favourite with many as well as myself.

I stippled Pearl Multi Surface Paint onto two greyboard
Snowflake surfaces, layered them both up adding a central gem stone
for a little bit of Christmas sparkle.

Mat and layered onto a 7 x 5 card the Snowflakes embellish the corner with
a Tim Holtz die cut Sentiment word finishing it all off.

I know it's only August but us crafty people always want to prepare ahead at least
one season in advance and because there are so many *New and *Fabulous That's Crafty
Autumn and Christmas products just released I thought it was the perfect timing
to bring them to life and make them shine.

Thank you for sharing your time,
Take Care and Stay Safe.

Until Next Time

The C* word... in August..!

In anticipation of the 2016 release of Lindsay Mason's NEW Christmas Stamp Collection from Personal Impressions I've taken a tip toe down memory lane to show you two Christmas Cards created using Lindsays' PREVIOUS Christmas Collections.

Both cards have been created by paper piecing using scrap pieces of water colour card displaying elements of Brusho.

The Tree has been stamped various times and each tier layered, the bigger the tier the more layers administered. The finished Tree has been placed onto a Distressed background and multiples of the Star Tree topper used to add further embellishment.

Stamped and paper pieced Hat, Scarf, Holly, Nose and Buttons using scrap brusho effects water coloured card. The Snowman has been raised using foam pads and glued onto a distressed background with embossed snowflakes, all stamps are from the same set. This delightful set also has the wording *Walking in a Winter Wonderland* ...most useful.

I do hope you have been inspired by my interpretation of something old.. I look forward to sharing  some of Lindsays' New Christmas Collection with you all very soon..
