Creative Artiste November Challenge ~ #77 Anything Mixed Media Goes

 Hello Creative Friends

Time to welcome you all again to
our theme is ALWAYS *Anything Mixed Media Goes*

This month I share another of my quirky handmade pots
inspired again by Toni Burt and her amazing pottery skills.

Created using an empty glass pudding pot and metal lid destined
for the recycle bin. I moulded clay around the glass pot and lid.

Leaving space for a magnetic die brush to sit, decorated with rice paper,
making marks into the clay. Sadly during the drying process the clay split
leaving a large crack in the outer clay. Continuing to paint up with black
acrylic, dry brushing with antique silver and a protective varnish coating.

I chose to make a feature of that crack adding a fashioned paper buckle,
hardware to compliment the brads with its rice paper and colour combo.

I'm really pleased with this little pot,
it's proving very handy in my workspace.

If you have a love for mixed media and use more than
three mediums in your creations please come and share your
mixed media creations with the Creative Artiste team HERE..

Wishing you all a safe and creative month ahead.

Motion and movement

 Hello creative friends

Flicking through unfinished journal pages I came
across this rice paper image of two ballet dancers.

How graceful they look, lost in the moment.

Stencil marks surrounding them almost slows down their motion,
calculating every movement. With gold stenciled gesso and gems
it seems to add to the drama like a huge spotlight on stage.

I love how the white highlights track and trace their steps.

The words *They gave no more thought* provokes emotion
for us to imagine their story through our own eyes...

Wishing you well this weekend,
Stay safe & creative

Imagination has no limit..

 Hello everyone,

Hope you all had a good weekend?

Mine was spent going through my sketch books and journals
i've so many unfinished pages and I'm amazed how many pages
have scenes, sketched, painted or built up with mixed media.

Adding a stamperia rice paper face I painted in hair and gave her
a lacy blouse. Words from the same rice paper seemed to give me
permission to include random die cuts adding to her eccentricity.

I love this huge layered die cut Rose by Lisa Jones,
this eccentric Victorian Lady wears it so well..

*As today is International Woman's Day..
Be proud of who you are..
YOU can be who ever you want to be*

Wishing you all a super week,
stay safe & creative

Discover.. Flowers

Hello creative friends,

How are you..??

Sharing a journal page today which I started just before
Spring first sprung but never got round to completing..

No how to do's or explanations just close up's of those
Stamperia moulded pastes, stencils and rice papers..

Fuschia is not really my colour but I couldn't help paint those
moulded roses to match those upon the rice paper background.

I love how the perched bird comes to life when painted,
as if she's stopped to take in their sweet flowery aroma..

The stenciled word *Discover trimmed with buttons
and lace sits above hand painted white fluffy clouds.

a keyword as birdsong amplifies whilst air traffic takes a break.

We've all had more time to discover things of new and old
while keeping our family, friends and neighbours safe...

Wishing you all a a super weekend.
Take care everyone.

Creative wishes

Be the Smile.. It's a That's Crafty Challenge REMINDER..

Hello Creative Friends,

It's time to remind you of the Challenge going on over on the That's Crafty Blog..

If you'd like to share your creative side with us we'd love to see you over THERE
Pop on over and read those entry rules there's prizes to be won.. !!

*Here's a little That's Crafty creation and how it came to be..*

Scraping paints onto a greyboard Tag I created a background

Stamping Lynne's sunflowers onto rice paper using versafine
the images were gently torn around and pasted onto the tag
with a watered down solution of multi purpose glue.

Painted with multi surface paints you see how the image
continues along the edge of the tag...

A large flat back gemstone embellishes the middle sunflower with black and white
pen bringing out parts of the image that may have been lost during painting.

Onto rice paper I stamped a sentiment from the same set and adhered it to the tag.

A ribbon bow attaches the tag to a card making it easier to be removed
if the recipient wishes to display it making an extra sweet little gift.

My *Be the Smile* Tag Card is complete.

Thank you for stopping by and please don't forget to check out what
the super talented That's Crafty Team have created to inspire you.

Wishing the brightest of days
and Crafty Hugs
