Try it on Tuesdays Challenge *FANTASY* ~ Guest Designer

 Hello Creatives

Delighted to be invited to be Guest Designer for
Try it on Tuesday and a real pleasure to create a
project for their Fortnightly challenge theme.

Over the next two weeks their theme is *Fantasy*
The Try it on Tuesday Design Team explain all HERE

My project is a Fantasy Forest journal page with the background
sketched, painted with watercolour overlaid with coloured pencils.
Dots of acrylic paints create a woodland carpet of wildflowers...

The Fairy is taken from a colouring book coloured with pencil
cut then pasted onto my journal page. To complete my Fantasy
project I added mystical orbs dancing around the woodland Fai...

Do pop on over HERE to see what the
Try it on Tuesday Design Team have created to inspire you
They look forward to seeing your *Fantasy* projects...

Thank you again to the Design Team for inviting me to be
Guest Designer this fortnight and to all who stop by.

Stay safe and creative

Morning has broken...

 Hello everyone

I've been flicking through unfinished journal pages again and
came across this little cottage nestled amongst the tree's...

You can see i'd already started to work on it, over painting the collage
adding light, shade and bright coloured blossom of purple and yellow.

Those that visit know I love creating little scenes like these,
extending the tree's with pencil and paint, adding stencilled
flowers painted to resemble Dog Rose lifting their heads
up towards the morning light.

Using grit paste, I stencilled the corner, painting it grey.
I feel like i'm peeping over a dry stone wall at a magnificent
country landscape, how I wish I could call that house mine...

Give me the peace and tranquillity of early Summer mornings every
day of the week.. now all I need is the sweet sound of bird song.

Stay safe and creative everyone

Creative Artiste Design Team ~ Anything Mixed Media Goes

Hello creative Friends,

I'm so happy to reveal today that I have
joined the Creative Artiste Design Team.

A monthly challenge where
and a place to share a mixed media
creation along side the Creative Artiste Team.

Thank you Andree and the team for inviting me..

Here's a walk through my September project and how it came to be..

Autumn my favourite of Seasons the warmth of it's colours are so cosy.
Taking a postcard sized piece of mixed media card I painted a scene
stamping wildflower stems in the forefront adding to it's atmosphere.

Sanding down a deep edge frame leaves are stamped onto the exposed wood
and painted with the same colour palette. To add interest to the front of
the frame texture paste is pushed through a stencil and left to harden.

Painting the textured edge in complimentary bronze, dots of glitter
glue add the final touch of detail to the glass window protecting it.

Glistens like morning dew from every angle,

my mixed media frame is complete and now ready to display.

Pop on over HERE and see what the Creative Artiste DT
have created this month, we'd love to see your
Mixed Media creations over @ Creative Artiste's

Wishing you all a
happy, safe and creative day

WoywW 580

Hello creative friends..

Desk sharing day over at the stamping ground where
Julia hosts what's on your Wednesday Workdesk...

Well apart from my fridge door falling off, locating a new
fridge online, in stock and able to be delivered to my door,
it's been quite a productive crafty week.

I spent the whole weekend in the craftroom
absorbed by the talent of over 20 artists during a two day
online retreat course before their year long workshop begins.

Here's a selection of what I created this weekend,
giving respect to the Artists involved i've obscured
some pieces taught via their tutorials.

When I do "make them my own" from those lessons
i'll be sure to share a bit more with you all..

#makecreateexpress20 #makecreateexpress #artismagiconline

This piece is inspired by the amazing work of
Jennifer Steck and her Patchwork Pets...
(another #WIP work in progress 😁)

had to try and capture Freya's *unique* eye!!

So here's my WOYWW #580 sadly idle since Monday...

Blame it on more mask making and alterations for facial hair!
Not mine may I add.. just incase you were wondering.. 😂

Look forward to seeing what's on your workdesks..

Take care & stay safe

Challenge #118 ~ Paperbabe Stamps *Anything Goes*

Hello creative friends,

welcome to May and the start of a

Anything goes is this fortnights theme so pop on over check out
what the DT have been up to and share your journey with the team.

Today i'm sharing an ATC, one I created some time ago...

If you visit or follow my blog you can probably tell this
Paperbabe Female Dinky Stamp is my personal favourite..
Stamped onto watercolour card she's painted in
watercolour and coloured with Luminance pencil's.

Freestyling her hair adding detail using a fine liner pen,
the sentiment is taken from the just because stamp set

Part of an ATC collection I use for personal inspiration...

We hope you will join us over @ Paperbabe Stamps

Stay safe & keep creative everyone

Paperbabe Challenge ~ #96 Spot and/or Stripes

Happy Summer Solstice creative friends
Welcome to Summer!

There's a NEW Blog Challenge over @ Paperbabe Stamps
and it's all about Spots and Stripes this fortnight..

After living under a rain cloud today the sun shines bright.
So let me share a project that like the weather has changed
it's face quite a few times before sitting down to rest.

Playing with the new Dinky Stamps and Templates it's very
easy for me to lose myself in the colouring and shading.

From an A5 journal page i've traced around the cover of a
found small notebook to give me the correct measurements.

The bow template tidy's up her rag tail hair and can you see the
Doodle Stars in spots and stripes that decorate her Summery T...

Cut down to size my Dinky Journal cover is complete.

The inside is a work in progress but you may
catch a glimpse of what's inside very soon...

Please pop over HERE and see what the Paperbabe Design Team
have created this fortnight, we are all loving the NEW Dinky's.

Wishing you all a little sunshine today.

Mermaid Dreams

Happy Friday Everyone

I found a moment to play with a new Spellbinders Stencil
designed by Jane Davenport purchased from That's Crafty.

Jane always reminds me of Mermaids this was the perfect
opportunity to take part in Art Journal Journey hosted by
dear Yvonne this month with her chosen theme of *A World of Fantasy*

This journal page has been created using watercolour pencils and gesso.
The stencil gives all those important lines needed to create a portrait.

Sketching in a Mermaid's tail I also used another of Jane's
stencils to doodle some shapes around the page.

Pieces of collage tissue paper are glued with matt medium,
the colours matched perfect with the background colour.

Gesso dabbed on with tissue and used to highlight areas of the shapes,
handwritten words Mermaid Dreams have been added to the page.

As a child I would dream of Mermaids, I believe it may have been because of the
holidays each year spent in Devon exploring secluded beaches like Ness Cove which
could only be accessed through what the locals would call a smugglers tunnel.
I always hoped I would catch a glimpse of a mermaid on the other side.

It's as if this mermaid is taking a selfie hee hee!!

Wishing you all a super weekend.

Looking forward to having some free time
and seeing what you have all been up too.

Take Care & Stay Safe

Count your blessings...Together.

Happy Friday everyone..

I've not had much time for creativity this past week but managed
to snatch a couple of hours today to complete this journal page.

Bleubeard and Elizabeth are our hosts over at Art Journal Journey
with this months theme being *Count your Blessings*

This found journal page full of paste, stencils & DOx's made the perfect backdrop.

Hubby & I will be celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary next week and
ALL these stencilled words remind me how blessed I am that we are still *Together*
After meeting nearly 30 years ago we can still be as silly, weird or wierd
as the stencil states just like those early days... it's extraordinary!

Here's what I got up too..

Onto Linen paper I pushed modelling paste through an AALL & Create
stencil. I find this paste leaves a fantastic flexible surface to work on.

Torn around the edges I painted over the page with a thin layer of Gesso
and used watercolour pencils to layer up those flower colours.

When happy with the colour blend I've sewn on some
lace remnants along with a handful of beads.

These two hearts are from That's Crafty left over from a past project.
Coloured to mimic the colours within the page I let the lace overlap
adding a little key & button embellishment.

The initials J & T gave it that personal touch...

With the embellished panel glued to the page Distress crayons
are used to blend in extra colour completing my Journal page.

The colours of these flowers just remind me of my
Summertime Wedding Bouquet.

Thank you for stopping by..
It's been a very eventful week for me,

I'm looking forward to having some down time and
catching up with you all over the weekend.

Creative Wishes

Time for Reflection ~ Paperbabe #70 Spring Challenge

Good Friday wishes everyone.

Today see's the start of a new challenge over on the Paperbabe blog
with this fortnights theme being Spring right HERE

Here's my take on Challenge #70 Spring Challenge
Introducing my Spring Bunny Girl..

Onto an A6 stitched postcard I traced around the mini female face template
along with the long loose wave hair style. Marking out the facial feature guides
included in the template I stamped those female features in to place.

Spring time colours are introduced using watercolour pencils.

A springtime landscape has been created in my A4 journal using wax pastels
and Bunny Ears created using the White Rabbit template, painted and cut to size.

I cut slots to slide the ears into place adding glitter glue to hide those cuts
along with a little more glitter glue to complement those colours used.

Dots of acrylic paint have been applied to replicate a field of Daffodils
with the Bunny Girl glued into place with those ears left free to give a little movement.

Some may think she is dreaming of sunnier days or maybe
walking gently through the beauty of that field of Daffodils.

I'd like to think she is taking time out to reflect, something
I've been doing lots of recently, very apposite during Holy Week...

Please do pop on over and take a look at all that has been created
by Kim and the Design Team and if you have a spare moment maybe
share your creativity with us over at the Paperbabe #70 Spring challenge.

Wishing you much peace, creativity
and Easter Blessings

Paperbabe Picture Inspiration challenge #69 ~ 50 Shades of Green

Happy Friday..!!

Today see's a new Paperbabe Challenge #69

Using the Picture for Inspiration it's really up to you how you interpret it.

Here's my take on Challenge #69..

Creating a colour wash background using shades from the picture for inspiration
I used the same colour palette to colour in the Frost Fairy Stamp.

I stamped the largest of the two hearts from the Rabbit Face
Set and stamped four together to create a four leaf clover.

When cut out I used both to cover up those snowflakes.

The whiskers stamp helps break down some of the white area when
stamped around the edge along with the quote stamp I embossed in copper.

The layers have been machine stitched using a neutral shade of thread
Completing my Picture Inspiration Card.

I do hope you can play along with this fortnights Picture Inspiration Challenge #69..

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend and the
Luck of the Irish for St. Patricks Day.

Also a very *Happy Birthday* to a sweet little Lady
who's special day happens to fall on the very same day..

BIG Hugs
Tracey xx
