Try it on Tuesdays Challenge *FANTASY* ~ Guest Designer

 Hello Creatives

Delighted to be invited to be Guest Designer for
Try it on Tuesday and a real pleasure to create a
project for their Fortnightly challenge theme.

Over the next two weeks their theme is *Fantasy*
The Try it on Tuesday Design Team explain all HERE

My project is a Fantasy Forest journal page with the background
sketched, painted with watercolour overlaid with coloured pencils.
Dots of acrylic paints create a woodland carpet of wildflowers...

The Fairy is taken from a colouring book coloured with pencil
cut then pasted onto my journal page. To complete my Fantasy
project I added mystical orbs dancing around the woodland Fai...

Do pop on over HERE to see what the
Try it on Tuesday Design Team have created to inspire you
They look forward to seeing your *Fantasy* projects...

Thank you again to the Design Team for inviting me to be
Guest Designer this fortnight and to all who stop by.

Stay safe and creative

Seize The Day...!!

Best wishes to all creatives this January

The rains have stopped for now as Winter shows it's face &
temperatures plummet, we've even had a sprinkling of snow
giving beautiful bright blue skies alongside frosty mornings.

My first share of 2024 is a journal spread of collage, remnants and
poignant words. Those who visit my blog know I no longer have
time to create as I once did 😢 Care duties take up almost all
of my time both day and night and over the past year
those duties have escalated.

The calendar is key to my world, it authorizes me to function for those
that can not, be their daily guide or reminder and at times it allows me
to seize any gap in the day to do the things I love to do like create..

Creativity is a healer and makes me stronger..

makes me think and appreciate time I have for myself..

gives me strength whilst patiently waiting..

and makes me hopeful everyday..

Seize the day and make the best of every moment...

Take care & stay safe everyone

2021 Bakers Dozen

 Hello creative Friends

How fast this year has flown I can hardly believe
it's time again to reflect back on artwork of 2021.

Starting with a page from my Care December Junk Journal,
without those early morning 5 minute prompts from Kasia Avery
I know I'd have not set foot in my craft space during December..

Words of comfort guiding the start to my day, each prompt gave
me inspiration on how to reclaim a little piece of each day..

This unshared page I believe fits well with Valerie's Theme

#9 Release.. Let go of things to make space for others

and a handful of my favourites from 2021

It's Hot, Hot, Hot... Guest Design spot at Try it on Tuesday.

Hello Creative Friends,

It's lovely to be back as Guest Designer over at
Try it on Tuesday. Honoured again to be invited
let me share a piece I created for this fortnights
theme HOT, HOT, HOT...!!

Whilst thinking of idea's I came across a superb stamp and a
piece of calico i'd pasted this magnificent Tiger napkin to.
With the intention of creating a cushion, time was sadly
not on my side so it led me to my back up plan...

Masking the edges of an A3 journal page I scraped on fibre paste and
gesso using the pot as a template to create a sun within this scene.

Acrylic inks of reds and yellows are dripped and sprayed with
water then left to find their own way across the textured page.
Love how the gesso acts as a resist leaving areas of white space.

With the fabric stamped image cut out and glued along the horizon
I added warmth to the sun using orange to compliment that red sky.

Separating and gluing more Tiger napkins to card I was able
to cut out sections for layering to help create dimension.

A Tiger's markings have always fascinated me with it's unmistakable
stripes and those white spots at the back of it's ears... remarkable.

Pasting a base layer of napkin onto the journal scene tall grasses
are painted in before layering up those magnificent markings. .

Carefully removing the masking tape when
finished leaves a clean crisp border edge

with some hand made washi tape to use at a later date.

Stippling in an extra cloud everything flows so much better in three's...
My Hot, Hot, HOT.. journal page is complete...

With climate change and deforestation this piece could almost
conceal a message as those animals all shelter under the same tree..

With thanks to all over @ TioT
I know they would love you to join them
and share your Hot, Hot, Hot creations...

Sending creative Hugs
& wishes your way

Tracey xx
