Creative Artiste ~ #110 November Anything Mixed Media Goes

Hello lovely creative friends..

Time for Novembers Creative Artiste post #110..
our challenge theme is *Anything Mixed Media Goes*

My 2024 art journal is getting quite full so here's a page from it
whilst I work out a better way of keeping this years pages together.

Stencilled and acrylic painted background a big full moon
shines through torn paper strips dragged along an ink pad.
They remind me so much of silver birch tree's as the
light of the moon catches the white space..

The funky fox I stamped onto fabric and followed the lines
of the image creating an embroidered patch colouring in with
lots of fussy stitching using just a needle and threads..

We hope you will share your mixed media makes
with the Design Team HERE and join our challenge

Stay safe & keep creative

Creative Artiste ~ November Mixed Media Challenge #99

 Hello Creative Friends

where our theme is ALWAYS *Anything Mixed Media Goes*

This month my journal page is created around a watercolour ink wash
background, acrylic scraped paints, stamped, coloured and die cut
elements with pen doodles stickles glitter glue and enamel accents.

Anyone who visits my blog will know how inspired I am by nature,
I love creating my own scene influenced by what I see around me.

In the midnight sky the owl makes a mighty statement in the
spotlight of the silvery mica moon, surrounded by dots of glitter
glue stars she flies above the changing landscape of her world.

A die cut skyline silhouette lies in the distance of acrylic trees
outlined with dots and dashes of posca pen and enamel accents
adding highlight and detail to this night time journal scene.

If you love to mix up your media please come and share YOUR

Creative Artiste Anything Mixed Media Goes ~ Challenge #97

Best wishes this September to you all

and the start of a new Creative Artiste Monthly Challenge

*Anything Mixed Media Goes Challenge #97*

This month my journal page is created with a collage and
stencil paste painted background, stamped Fuchsia Flowers,
coloured with ink and pencil, cut and layered for a 3-D effect,
surrounded by an abundance of luscious green leaves.

They remind me of childhood Summers and my Grandfathers cottage
garden full of Huge Roses, Hydrangea and Fuchsia bushes filled with
flowers like tiny ballerina's dancing and twirling in the breeze...

My own Fuchsia's are but a shadow compared to those of my
late Grandfather but through the troubled weather this year
they have still managed to bloom and produce fruit..

As Natures season of bounty is now upon us I will leave these edible
Fuchsia berries to the birds and foragers that frequent my tiny garden..

Pop along HERE to see what the DT have created to inspire you..
we invite creatives to mix up your media and share your Creations

Creative Artiste ~ MAY Mixed Media Challenge #82

Hello Creative Friends

where our theme is always Anything Mixed Media Goes

This month my MAY DT project is a mixed media journal page.

Pushing texture paste through a Stamperia stencil I painted
the raised flowers with watercolour, acrylics and enamel accents.

Gluing stamped, coloured and fussy cut Bluebells next to the Scabiosa,
a large stamped and pencil coloured Monarch Butterfly stops to rest..

If you love mixing up your media be it paper, paint and stencils,
collaged tags, journal pages, cards or creating projects from scratch
please come and share your handmade creations with the team HERE
and check out what the DT have created this month to inspire you...

We look forward to seeing your Mixed Media creations.

Autumn in Abstract

 Hello everyone

I hope you all had a creative weekend?

I had a whole Sunday to myself what a treat
but with so many things on my creative to do list
I was overwhelmed where to start or what to do...

Looking through my online courses I noticed a bonus workshop
had dropped into my Soulful Abstracts course by Laly Mille..

This is where Sunday took me.

Orange is not my colour, you may be shocked by this as my
Nature wears Orange so much better than I ever could.

This workshop takes you on a journey facing your fears of
unconfident colour, introducing it into your artwork alongside
colours you're more comfortable with which for me are mainly neutral.

Layering unfavoured paper scrap colours, scribbling on shades of
orange neocolour II's. All blended into the background by finger
smudging white gesso, random stamping and dark inky drips.

I call this mixed media piece *Autumn in Abstract*

now I feel the need to create something in purple 😏

Wishing you all a very Creative week

WOYWW 613

 Hello creative friends,

Three unexpected days of blue skies and sunshine kept me away from
my crafty haven this weekend, spending all my free time in the garden
having a pre Spring clean up and enjoying the warmth and fresh air.

So there's not been much going on at my desk but after spotting
my first Bee of the year I thought i'd sketch it. Coloured with
ink, watercolour and pencil, those Yucca leaves still need some
major tweaking, the're looking rather like green banana's 😂

That's what's on my workdesk this week...

... and for pencil lover's out there don't panic that mine are all
bottoms up, their wee noses are resting gently on a foam liner
inside my mug, much easier to use when work's in progress 😉

Look forward to seeing what you've been up to..

Stay safe & creative

AJJ ~ The meaning of ... Art

 Hello everyone,

As Decembers Guest Host @ Art Journal Journey
i'm sharing my second journal spread

I adore every aspect of art it allows me to explore, experiment and express.
Nothing compares to the feeling of bringing a blank page to life with colour..

Collage and texture paste through stencils helps breaks up this surface
where alcohol inks are dripped, sprayed and teased around the page.

The stamped and painted brushes represent a small selection of tools
I use to help me discover, demonstrate and make visual noise on a page.

and not forgetting those paint tubes like little houses
that help keep our precious paints all safe and sound..

Art it's within me.. like my beating HEART..

WOYWW #462 ~ First steps..

I've been an admirer of the WOYWW for over a year now,
commenting occasionally on posts that have been brought to my attention
always wanting to take part but never brave enough to take that plunge..

Well today i'm doing it...

For those tidy crafters you may wish to avert your eyes hee hee!!

I don't have a dedicated area to create in it's something I aspire to have one day
so my future posts may be in different areas where ever my creativity takes me.

This is today's area, my kitchen table full of inks, stamps and stencils i've been using over
the past couple of weeks during a mega card making session using up lots of scraps.
There's also a little peek at some Design Team stamp sets
being featured on Hochanda this Friday.

The Tic-Tacs and two old pound coins where found in an old coat pocket
whilst sorting clothes for charity.. Just my luck to find two *Old* pound coins..!!.

Well there you have it albeit short but with a BIG Thank you to Helen (H) and
Angela for keeping me updated and Julia of course for hosting.

I'm so glad not to be that fly on the wall anymore.
I'm off to visit those WOYWW posts now

Happy Crafting
