Creative Artiste ~ Anything Goes Mixed Media Challenge #120

 Hello Creatives

our theme is always *Anything Mixed Media Goes*

Autumn arrived and my October project shows how the beauty
of the season inspires me. On a paint scraped background I
stamped script, heat embossed with gold embossing powder,
hand stitching around the edge using a variety of art yarns.

Gathered Sycamore twigs covered in Lichen are attached to the
background with fabric leaves painted and enhanced with pencil,
gilded and embellished with a mix of glass beads.

Autumn truly is an inspiration..

What inspires you?

The team at Creative Artiste look forward to seeing
please come share your Mixed Media Creations @

Creative Artiste ~ October Anything Mixed Media Goes #98

 Hello creatives

Time to introduce you to Creative Artiste October Challenge
where our theme is always *Anything Mixed Media Goes #98*

My journal page this month is full of Autumnal splendor
as October has always been my favourite time of year.

Upon a collage and stencilled background I've created a woodland
scene using die cuts of new and old along with unused remnants
from projects created way way back in the past.

Rusty brown painted and enamel embossed die cut tree's and finger
smudged inks surround a stamped on rice paper quote by Rumi:
*Let yourself be silently drawn by the
stronger pull of what you really love..*

A stamped, coloured and fussy cut Hedgehog makes her home
nestled cosily amid leafy woodland layers... beautiful Autumn.

Make your mark..

 Hello everyone

October it's speeding along so I'm sharing a

two masked pages washed with my Autumnal watercolour palette.

Gathered leaves placed randomly into the watercolour area,
painted over then just left to dry. A slow process this time of year
but very much worth the wait when you peel back those dried leaves...

Something unique every time..

This page is destined to become bookmarks.. don't you agree??

Wishing you all a safe & creative week

Creative Artiste March Challenge ~ Anything Mixed Media Goes

 Hello Creative Friends,

It's the first Friday of the month so let me
our theme is always Anything Mixed Media Goes.

Today i'm sharing my
Everything Spring junk journal cover.

As March see's the start of Spring it's written that
the Green Man is a symbol of rebirth, new growth and
an environmental guardian amongst many other things.

Here's those how to do's and how he came to be...

Pouring melted UTEE onto an old book cover, I used clear embossing
ink to protect the large Lavinia Green Man stamp, pressing the
image firmly into the hot UTEE transferring the impression.

With a pair of Tim Holtz creepy eyes, i'd planned to paint and
simply add die cut oak leaves but I could already sense this
was not going to give the result I was really hoping for..

So using the outer oak thinlit from Tim Holtz leaf print die set
I used it like a cookie cutter pushing into paper clay to cut out the
leaf image, forming those leaf creases with a ball tool and knife.

Making those branch lines more prominent by tracing with a glue pen
I painted the surface when dry framing the face by gluing down those
cut and formed oak leaves, leaving to dry until the following day.

Pushing beads into the clay adds extra detail as the whole
leafy area is painted with acrylics and a dab of gold paint.

With texture paste dragged down the spine stippled in bark brown
paint, a junk jewellery book mark adds a little more to it's design.

He's a mighty statement feature, makes me want to preserve him
and keep him in the garden, he looks very much at peace there..

So if you have a passion for mixed media we'd love
you to share your creations with us over HERE.

Pop on over and see what the Design Team
have created to inspire you this March

Look forward to seeing your mixed media makes..

Stay safe & creative

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge ~ #131 Picture Inspiration

 Hello Creative Friends.

It's time for a new challenge over @ Paperbabe Stamps

This fortnight we give you a Picture for Inspiration below.
Use it to inspire you and come share your creativity HERE.

*Here's my interpretation of the challenge*

Inspired by the colours and shapes in the picture prompt and techniques
discovered during a Laly Mille workshop I created a divided journal page.

Working within the lines I've used scraps from previous Paperbabe
creations using Paperbabe STAMPs and STENCILs, embossed pastes,
paint, leaves and lace to create a mixed media journal page..

Here's a closer look of my two favourites

A happy little leaf family..

Uplifting quote from Picasso alongside a dormant Sunday best dress..

Whether i'll keep this A3 page as it is, create a smaller journal
or divide each section individually, i'm undecided but I must say
the process was very relaxing to work on from start to finish..

Look forward to seeing your

Be Thankful...

Hello Creative Friends

No matter how grey they day,
we ALL have something to be thankful for.

Using unused die cuts & scraps here's a quick post

I love how Kraft card absorbs distress oxides...

and how it stretches when coated in water.
I can see right behind those trees now.

Placed inside a found frame gives these scraps
a BIG HUG bringing them all together as one family...

As friends across the pond celebrate Thanksgiving
and many prepare for upcoming festivities...

I wish you all a wonderful day

Take care of yourselves and each other

Paperbabe SKETCH Challenge ~ #83

Hello Creative Friends,

Use it's shape to inspire you and the image to represent your design.
Mix it up, be creative, it's really up to you how you interpret it.

Time has been very limited for me this week so I set myself a
personal challenge to see what I could come up with in 1 hour.

Here's what I got up to and those simple *How to Do's*

Using the leaf and conkers from the Completely Conkers stamp set,
Distress Oxides were my choice of ink to stamp onto both Kraft and white card.

Onto an A6 card I stamped one of my favourite stamps from the
Spritz & Speckle set along with the completely Conkers sentiment.

5 leaves and 5 conkers were fussy cut and teased into shape ready to assemble.

Glued down using 3D Gel my CAS card is complete.

It's really that simple ..

Hope you can find a moment to pop on over HERE and join in with the challenge.
There's a prize for one lucky random winner.

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend.

Creative wishes

Autumn Journal Cover.. (Part 1..)

Hello everyone,
It's time again for a new theme over on the That's Crafty Challenge Blog
and this theme is one of my favourites *Forever Autumn*
If you are in the UK and would like to showcase your Autumnal makes there's a chance
to win £20 to spend in the That's Crafty Online Store for the chosen winner.
Hope to see you over THERE..

Here in words and pictures is my Autumn Journal Cover Creation (Part 1..)

The long awaited Eileen Hull XL Journal Die was a considered purchase for me
and one I have a master plan for on a personal level so please watch this space..

Cutting out both halves of the cover using two white/greyboard 10" x 8" panels
I glued them together and scraped on Multi Surface paint of Autumnal shades.
Dried with a heat tool I then pushed paste through the Maple and Skeleton Leaf Stencils.

When dry I painted over the paste with the same colours used on the cover.
Yellow, Christmas Green, Red & Bronze.

Adding scrapes of Multi Surface Gold I dry brushed areas of the cover
using That's Crafty's own brand Multi Surface Chestnut Brown paint.
I love how areas of the white board peep through!

With wooden beads threaded through the journal clasp Greyboard leaves are
painted, scored then glued onto the front of the clasp for Autumnal decoration.
The empty end of the clasp is then glued to the outer edge of the back cover.

Elasticated string is threaded through the given holes of the die cut cover
and I have allowed for extra string so it can be wrapped around more than once,
thinking ahead as the contents of the inside may expand over time.

Finally the book plate has been carved into with a craft knife,
painted using the same colour palette and embossed with UTEE.
Brads with heated Multi Surface Paints adds the final detail.

My Autumn Journal Cover is complete... (nearly)

Autumn is my favourite season of all with the little animals and insects busying themselves having their last burst of energy before their sleepy time arrives in winter.

I feel a little like those busy animals and insects at the moment with family life and projects this is why I have chosen to save the inside of the Journal for another day..
Autumn Journal Part 2 coming soon..!

Until next time, Stay Safe everyone.
Warm (((Hugs))) and much creativity
Tracey xx
