First stamping out her face, her hair was drawn by tracing around a template.
Given a floral crown she is painted with fresco paint then coloured with pencil.

Given wings you may be led to believe she is a Fairy but please do not be
mistaken for she's a Butterfly Girl ready to spread her wings and be seen.

Look forward to seeing your

Frilly and Funkie Guest Designer ~ Let me count the ways..

Hello Creative Friends,
It's really lovely to be here today.

I'm so lucky to have been asked to be a Guest Designer over at
Frilly and Funkie. Hosted by Sara Emily this Fortnight's Challenge
Theme is inspired by Elizabeth Barrett Browning's Love Poem
How do I Love Thee (Sonnet 43) Let me counts the ways.

Frilly and Funkie are asking you to share your Vintage/Shabby Chic
creations that include *Three of Something* this could be three colours,
words, stamps etc... Pop on over HERE and see what the super talented
Frilly and Funkie Design Team have created to inspire you.

Here's what I created along with those *How to Do's*

I had to think long and hard about this theme,
whilst reading the poem I gathered vintage fabrics,
lace and stamped images as I searched for inspiration.

With the romance of those words I cut out large fabric hearts from linen
and stamped Tim Holtz Patchwork pieces using sepia versafine onto calico.

Layered snippets of lace adds embellishment and dimension
along with buttons from Grandma's button tin.

Sewn onto a cotton and muslin panel hemmed top and bottom I stamped along
both edges using a border stamp from the same patchwork pieces set.

Around two wooden dowels wrapped wire holds three pearl beads to each end.
Threaded through those hemmed edges they act as support for the fabric panel.

Amongst my paper stash I came across snippets of vintage ephemera
and words on a 6x6 paper, it was as if those three words
Forever, Cherish and Adore were just waiting to be found.

Machine stitching around each word I made three tags
and created a mini affection booklet to hold them inside.

Partially sewn onto the panel an embellished
pin holds the booklet secure to the heart.

With the top of the heart left unsewn a pocket has
been created to hold the affection booklet within.

A single strip of lace acts as a hanger completing my
Vintage Fabric hanging Heart.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

I've really enjoyed my time creating this piece,
Thank you to Frilly and Funkie for having me
and to Sara Emily for hosting *Let me count the ways*

Wishing you all a wonderful day full of love and romance!
It is the most romantic day of the year after all...

Fishy wishes..

Happy Sunday everyone,
I hope you are all fit and well??

I have been trying to organise my crafting life and sort through
my stash whilst suffering with a horrid virus again!!.. Ewwww

Having had to pack most of my stash away during Christmas, each year
I find it harder and harder to get it out and sort through it all again!

..but i'm being ruthless this year, through the coughing and sneezing!!

Here's a quick card I made for a 70th Birthday

Simply stamped onto watercolour card with versafine
I coloured with promarkers, I know it's not advised to use
alcohol markers on watercolour card as it can be very thirsty but I
really do love the way it holds the colour making it even more vibrant.

With a watery wash of watercolour around the trio I
covering the card with versamark embossing ink and triple embossed
with clear embossing powder giving a crisp and shiny surface.

Bending the card cracks the embossed surface...

and a little ground espresso distress ink helps to bring out those cracks!

Mounted onto an 7 x 5" card I decided not to put the big 70 on the front
and chose to place it inside as I knew the fish loving receiver would probably
want to keep this card up to remind him of his hobby rather than his age...!!

Apologies to those blogs i've not payed a visit to yet, comments and email I've left
unanswered. I'm hoping to have a catch up later today when my heads a little less foggy.

Wishing you a relaxing Sunday.

Warm Hugs & Wishes

Sweet Dixie Wedding Collection *Bouquet*

Today I'm sharing a card using the Bouquet stamp taken from the Newly released Sweet Dixie Wedding Dress stamp set  Designed by Sue Dix  from Personal Impressions.
The sentiment is taken from Sweet Dixie May This Special Day stamp set another new release from Sue's Wedding Collection.

The Bouquet has been stamped using versafine ink and coloured using Spectrum Noir Illustrator pens. Elements from the image have been picked out, stamped, coloured, cut out and layered on top to give a dimensional look.

A few spots of Ranger Golden Rod Stickles really adds to the detail.
Another versatile stamp set with limitless use that would make a particularly wonderful
topper for a Mother's Day Card.

Here's just a few examples of colour variations.

Thank you again for sharing your time,
I look forward to sharing another with you soon.

Wishing you a wonderful day.. Creative Hugs from Tracey xx

Frosty Robin

Regrettably I never got chance to use this delightful stamp before Christmas, whilst having a top and tail of some of my stamp collection I thought I would test stamp the Robin from IndigoBlu and just couldn't resist creating a little hanging plaque.

I painted a 6x6" greyboard with white gesso then Grandma's Teacup acrylic by IndigoBlu, whilst the paint was still wet I removed some of the paint using a sponge exposing the white gesso.

Using versafine black onyx I stamped the Bare Forest Stamp various times using a mask to
help resist some of the ink transferring onto the board.

Using an oral syringe filled with IndigoBlu Super Thick Slap I followed the stamped branches by pushing the slap it on through the syringe giving a thin raised appearance.

Sprinkling with unicorn sparkles this really gives the look of frosty branches.

The robin has been stamped, embossed and painted with Postbox Red & Hot Cocca, posca pens have been used to add finer detail with the finished image being fussy cut. I decided to cut the fruit off my design as it did not go with what I was hoping to achieve.

Onto the board The Robin along with red gems have been randomly adhered to represent berries, adding a spot of white gesso to each berry blends them nicely into the picture.

I edged the board using clear embossing pen and white embossing powder.
The word freedom is from IndigoBlu's Plume stamp set stamped and embossed onto paper also  painted in the Grandma's Teacup.

As I stated earlier this really is a delightful stamp and i'm already thinking of ways to use it..

I'd like to enter this in the Rubber Dance Stamp Challenge - January Blue-Red-White

Thank you for sharing your time to take a peek..

Sweet Dixie Festive Post

Sweet Dixie Festive Post Clear Stamp set comprises of seven stamps six of which are postal marks and the seventh a snowman stamp. Designed by Lindsay Mason the Sweet Dixie stamp set is brought to us by Personal Impressions. Here are just a few creations and embellishments using just three stamps from this set..

Post Mark Card.

The three larger postal marks have been stamped onto Kraft Card using Versafine ink Olympia Green, Majestic Blue and Crimson Red. The edge of the card has been distressed using a distressing tool and centrally wrapped with twine.

Layered onto black card an embossed Tree postal mark has been cut out with a circle punch and layered on top of the twine.

Superb for using as envelope seals, embellishments for handmade crackers or creating your own wrapping paper the ideas are plenty. This set is one I will be using from one year to the next.

Thank you for taking a peek at my quick and simple ideas, have a fabulous weekend.

Bookmark Gift Cards

This Friday I share three Bookmark Gift Cards using Sweet Dixie Christmas Swags Stamps  from Personal Impressions 2016 Christmas Collection.
Designed by Lindsay Mason

The stamp set consists of three Christmas swag stamps between 5"- 5.5" in length.

Each swag was stamped onto cream card using Onyx Black Versafine and embossed using Sweet Dixie Ultra Fine embossing powder and coloured with wink of stella brush pens to add a little Christmas sparkle.

Mat and layered each bookmark is around 2" by 7" in dimension.

Using Kraft Card I made a DL card 3"- 8"

Corner punched black card was layered onto gold card then glued to the DL card.

The bookmarks are held onto the card by the slots created by the punch,
this makes the bookmark easy to remove if the recipient wishes to use it.

I added ribbon to my Bookmarks but you can adapt yours however you please.

Thank you again for sharing your time with me,
I hope you have been inspired by my bookmark gift card.
