Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #150 ~ Anything Goes

Hello Everyone

It's *Anything Goes* @ Paperbabe Stamps #150 Challenge
with a prize for one random winner if you wish to share your
creativity over HERE and join the Paperbabe Stamps Challenge.

This month i'm sharing a page from my handmade DL journal,
created to hold and display my die cut Jointed Paperbabe Art Dolls

Cut from papers found amongst my stash, i'm unsure why I've
never used them as I adore those vintage monotone colours.

With her Portrait stamped face and Aleesha style hair cut from the template.

she sits secure behind the Sparkle stamp band.
... a little peep inside my journal an ongoing work in progress..

Hope to see your *Anything Goes* creations

Stay safe & creative

Today my Design Team project is a page from my journal..
Blog visitors will already know I have a love for portraiture and flowers

First stamping out her face, her hair was drawn by tracing around a template.
Given a floral crown she is painted with fresco paint then coloured with pencil.

Given wings you may be led to believe she is a Fairy but please do not be
mistaken for she's a Butterfly Girl ready to spread her wings and be seen.

Anything Goes ~ Paperbabe Stamps Challenge #106

Hello everyone,

It's anything goes over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog this
fortnight so why not share your creativity with us HERE
for a chance to win a Paperbabe stamps prize...

Here's my Paperbabe Stamps #106 creation...

Stamping out the Profile Right Dinky and tracing around the Volumptuous Waves hair template I've used gesso to blank out her ear creating an even flow of her hair.

Losing myself in a moment of colouring I protected the finished image with the Volumptuous waves hair template then placing a mylar stencil (created using the Tim Holtz Birch Die) over the top I blended distress ink through it.

The hair template acts as a mask protecting the image perfectly, bringing both pencilled figure and stencilled background together seamlessly.

A plain aperture found within an unused picture frame is dipped in puddles of Distress Oxides. Just look how those beads of colour leave their mark.

A selection of Autumnal inspired D'oxs colours are used to stamp the leaves from the Completely Conkers set onto those transferred oxide puddles.

Positioning over the image the aperture creates a window around the design.

Back in it's original frame dabbed with gold and copper paint
my Window to Autumn is complete.

Pop along and see what the Design Team have created this fortnight.
I look forward to seeing your *Anything Goes* creations.

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend.
Take care & stay safe everyone.

Paperbabe Challenge #82 ~ THEME *STARS*

Hello Creative Friends

It's Friday and time for another Paperbabe Challenge.
This fortnight the theme is *STARS* we'd love you to share
your *STAR* creations over HERE on the Paperbabe Stamps blog.

There's a prize for one Lucky random winner so pop on over,
read those rules and see what the Team have created just for you.

Here's my take on the Theme *STARS*

On to an A3 Journal page I traced around the Standard Torso and Fairy Wings
templates, lay down lots of colourful Neocolor II's and spritzed with water
to help those colours mix, move and merge around the page.

The Head template was traced, features stamped, coloured and cut out.
The Curly Hair and fringe template has also been traced separately
ready to be fussy cut.

Stamping the Doodle *STARS* onto the background I rubbed crystal stickles glitter glue
over the page with my finger to add some sparkle. I then used the Curly Fringe Hair
template to manipulate exactly where I wanted the hair to be before tracing around.

Those traced areas of hair behind the face were painted with white Gesso
and a hairline drawn onto the face making it easier to position those hair strands.

With those hair strands cut out and glued into place
the pointy ear is lifted up peeping out from the hair.

Paper napkins have been collaged to the base of the page with
extra's backed onto card and layered on top to add dimension.

Drawing in those finer details of my Fantasy Fairy using Neocolor II's,
a fussy cut crown (included in the Fairy Wings template) along with
beaded string adds that final detail.

I really enjoyed losing myself creating this piece and with limited craft supplies
at the moment due to a little home improvement it really does set those
creative cogs in motion.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend ahead
and Thank you so much for visiting.

Paperbabe Challenge #74 Doodles

It's Friday Yay...
and an extended weekend awaits with another
UK Bank Holiday.

It's time for another Paperbabe Challenge with this fortnight being doodle themed
so for those of you that like to doodle, draw or just make marks
this challenge may be just for you.

Here's my take on #74 Doodles Paperbabe Challenge along with those How to Do's..

Onto a postcard sized piece of water colour card I traced around the mini head
and torso templates along with the short hair and fringe, marked out the
facial features using the guides given on the head template and
used the mini female face stamps to stamp those features in place.

Neocolors II have been used to lay down those base colours.

Onto deli roll used to mop up inks I doodled
using a nib (dip) pen and acrylic inks.

With the image glued into my postcard album created just for this size paperbabe.
I tore strips of those inked doodles and glued them to the top and bottom
of the image to create a decorative edge.

Blending any white area still showing with those neocolors I then added a little more
pastel colour blending with my finger to give that softer dreamy effect .

My Doodled edge Paperbabe Postcard is complete.

If you'd like to share your doodles with us please pop on over HERE
and join in with the Paperbabe #74 Doodles Challenge.

We'd love to see you there..
Wishing you a wonderful weekend
what ever you are up to.

Paperbabe Challenge ~ #72 Anything goes..

It's Friday and time for a new blog challenge over at Paperbabe Stamps,
with this fortnights theme being everyone's favourite

Time for a play day...

Onto the largest of three mixed media blanks I traced around the mini
profile template and curly fringe. The mini profile stamps can be used to add the
facial features but this time I chose to hand draw mine in with pencil.

I used the colour of the MDF to guide my choice of skin tone
using neocolors II to add the overall base colour.

Using all three mixed media circles included in the kit I created a scene, layering
up those colours as they really soak into untreated MDF when activated with water.

You can see here just how the colour changes by repeating the process.

Hanging attachments are included within the mixed media kit and simply attached
with a spot of glue, where you chose to place the hangers is entirely up to you.

Coloured pencils help to add those extra details.

I would have loved to have added more circles to this wall art; picking out areas of her hair
and surroundings. The limits are endless but for the moment the trio sit side by side.

As She Ponders... the tilt of your head can predict her day..!!

I hope you too can find time for a play day and maybe join in
with the Paperbabe Stamps blog Challenge, we'd love to see your creativity.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend

Ultra Violet Paperbabe Postcard: Challenge #65

It's time for another Challenge over at Paperbabe Stamps
with this Fortnights theme being a Picture Inspiration Challenge #65
inspired by the Pantone colour of 2018 Ultra Violet.

Described as provocative, thoughtful and a dramatic shade of purple
I have tried to introduce each of these elements into my project.

Here is my Ultra Violet Papebabe Postcard and those How to do's

Using the mini portrait template, face stamps and hair template I positioned,
sketched around, stamped then lay down my dominant water soluble colours
scribbling them onto watercolour card and activated with water.

Building up the detail of the eyes, skin, and hair more colour was added to the background helping define the hair. Rubbing a wet wipe over a stencil I had placed over the background area I lifted off some of that dark colour leaving the impression of the stencil behind.

Lilac Glitter lips and eyelashes adds a dramatic touch!
With the final detail added using a fine liner.

An embossed rose embellishment gives her a corsage choker
necklace with those final hair highlights added with a white pen.

My Ultra Violet Paperbabe Postcard is complete..

It's Friday and the weekend awaits, hopefully with lots of
spare time to craft away those chill out hours??

I hope you can find time to pop on over HERE and see the Design Teams
Super inspirational makes and hopefully join in with the challenge too!

Hope to see you over THERE.

Have a wonderful weekend
