Paperbabe #67 ~ Sketch Challenge.. A bottle of Love & Luck.

Happy Friday everyone, i'm so glad you are here!!

There's a new Paperbabe Blog Challenge today and it's time to get your
thinking caps on and create within the #67 ~ Sketch Challenge requirements.

Here is the Sketch to use as your prompt.

The flower can represent an image or embellishment and the Paperbabe text a sentiment.
Flip it or move those prompts around and have fun being creative.

Today marks the start of the Chinese New Year ~ The Year of the Dog.

Although there is no dog amongst my design the richness of the reds and golds
have been a big influence in this creation..

Here is my Paperbabe #67 ~Sketch Challenge design
and those How to do's.. with some hidden *Candy*..

Using red card I blended black ink through a stencil and heat embossed with gold.
This will be my background.

Stamped and embossed a continuous strip and mat and layered.

Three bottles were stamped and embossed, filling two
with frantage and the third only half full.

Those full bottles were given a stamped stopper with the half full bottle being fussy cut
to expose its insides. Labelled with Love, Luck and Elixir they were ready to be mounted.

The vapour stamp from the bottle of stamp set was stamped onto the background;
see how the fussy cut half bottle lets the vapour peep through when placed over it.

Time to layer up all those elements to create my Sketch Project piece.

With a dot and dab of glitter glue, some stars from the Bottle of substrates kit
and a large Lucky Red Ribbon my #67 ~ Sketch Challenge piece is complete.

To show my appreciation and give thanks to you
all for your support I would like to share the Paperbabe love and
offer a *GIFT* to one of you lovely people in the form of a candy giveaway.

I have an extra set of Paperbabe Bottle of Stamps and if you would like to receive them
simply let me know in your comment on this post I will draw out the winner from the
*Mad Hatters Hat on Friday 2nd March*

Wishing you a wonderful weekend
with lots of love and luck.

Fishy wishes..

Happy Sunday everyone,
I hope you are all fit and well??

I have been trying to organise my crafting life and sort through
my stash whilst suffering with a horrid virus again!!.. Ewwww

Having had to pack most of my stash away during Christmas, each year
I find it harder and harder to get it out and sort through it all again!

..but i'm being ruthless this year, through the coughing and sneezing!!

Here's a quick card I made for a 70th Birthday

Simply stamped onto watercolour card with versafine
I coloured with promarkers, I know it's not advised to use
alcohol markers on watercolour card as it can be very thirsty but I
really do love the way it holds the colour making it even more vibrant.

With a watery wash of watercolour around the trio I
covering the card with versamark embossing ink and triple embossed
with clear embossing powder giving a crisp and shiny surface.

Bending the card cracks the embossed surface...

and a little ground espresso distress ink helps to bring out those cracks!

Mounted onto an 7 x 5" card I decided not to put the big 70 on the front
and chose to place it inside as I knew the fish loving receiver would probably
want to keep this card up to remind him of his hobby rather than his age...!!

Apologies to those blogs i've not payed a visit to yet, comments and email I've left
unanswered. I'm hoping to have a catch up later today when my heads a little less foggy.

Wishing you a relaxing Sunday.

Warm Hugs & Wishes

Jolly Happy Christmas *Wreath*

Hello all you lovely Crafters. I've been feeling pretty rotten over the past couple of weeks with a flu like virus which I can't seem to shake off, so this Friday's blog has been pulled out of the bag (literally..!)

Using Christmas Tree shapes and scraps saved from a previous project already coloured using Promarkers a Christmas Wreath has been created using Sweet Dixie Jolly Happy Christmas Stamps. From Personal Impressions these stamps are from Lindsay Masons 2016 Christmas releases.

Using a 6" card I matt and layered using traditional gold and red card, a zig zag stitch has been sewn onto the red pearlized card to add some interest. I created a ring template by simply drawing round two glass jars of differing sizes making sure the central aperture was big enough to accommodate the sentiment. As you can see the dimensions of the wreath template are clearly written for you to see.

The wreath is made up of 12 Christmas Trees all cut around  2/3rds of the way up from the bottom. There is no need to measure this as there is almost a clear line for you
to follow on the stamped image.

The 12 trees are layered around the ring template using foam pads, I added flat back pearls to embellish but you could be quite opulent with your embellishments.
The completed Wreath ring is then applied centrally to the card using foam pads.

As you can see the effect is quite raised and I'm sure it would make a great Table Candle holder, unfortunately I didn't have the right size candle to try.

Thank you for sharing your time, have a wonderful weekend.

Christmas Teddies

Today I share two cards created using Sweet Dixie stamps from Personal Impressions both stamp sets have been designed by Cathie Shuttleworth.

The image has been stamped four times, heat embossed with clear embossing powder, and coloured using ProMarkers. Sections of the image have been cut and layered to add depth.

Mat and layered onto complimentary card and embellished with flat back gems
this set consists of 3 stamps two Christmas Sentiments and the large Teddy image.

This card has been created in exactly the same way as the first, stamped a number of times, heat embossed, coloured, cut out and layered.
Kuretake Wink of Stella pens add a little sparkle

The Teddies Christmas Stocking Stamp set has some very handy little stamps within the set. One is this lovely little Santa Teddy, perfect for using on envelopes.

Also included within the collection are snowflakes and a star, rather modern in design.
I used these to create the backgrounds for both cards by simply stamping randomly.

Both stamp sets are a fabulous size to work with and give a Modern Twist to the more Traditional Christmas designs.

Thank you for sharing your time,

Sweet Dixie *Rockers* ..!!

This Friday I'm featuring two *Rocker* cards each created using Sweet Dixie clear Stamps both sets Designed by Lindsay Mason from Personal Impressions.

The Rocker card was created by cutting a 5.5" circle, scoring mid point at 2.75" then folding in half to create the Card.

Santa, Reindeer and sack of Toys image were stamped and coloured using ProMarkers, fussy cut then adhered to the rocker card.

Be mindful where you place the images and work out the correct balance so the card rocks freely. This is the reason my Reindeer has a larger than usual Red Nose because my card seemed a little one sided so the larger flat back pearl nose added the extra weight I needed for my card to rock freely. Frosted lace Stickles adds a snowy texture to the white background.

The Tipsy Snowman image is one of my personal favourites from Lindsays Christmas Collection and some of you may remember that I have featured this stamp set previously.

The same concept has been used for this Rocker as the Skating Santa, stamped image, coloured, fussy cut and applied to the top edge of the rocker card. The sentiment used is from the same stamp set. Frosted Lace Stickles again adds a little texture.

What more can we ask for at Christmas but Rocking Santa's, Reindeer and Tipsy Snowmen..??

Thank you for sharing your time with me.. Have a creative Weekend.

Fancy and Cute... Sweet Dixie

Today I share a double helping of Christmas card creations using Sue Dix Sweet Dixie stamps from Personal Impressions.

The first stamp set is Sweet Dixie Fancy Reindeer  a mighty fine stamp full of detail and very fancy indeed. Stamped onto distressed stamping card with versafine black onyx ink and heat embossed using sweet dixie clear embossing powder. The main image has been coloured using Spectrum Noir Colorista muted colours sets 5 and 6.

The hanging baubles, Reindeer coat and holly have all been stamped twice, cut and layered onto of the image to add depth and dimension. The Merry Christmas sentiment is just one of two included in the set. The card has been mat and layered using complimentary colours and embellished with twine and a flat back pearl snowflake.

The second card share is Sweet Dixie Cute Snowman stamps, designed by Sue Dix from her 2016 clear stamp Christmas Collection from Personal impressions.

The white background has been created using die cut snowflakes from Sue's Let is Snow Sweet Dixie die set adhered to the same quality card. The Snowman image has been stamped and coloured using promarkers, various elements have been stamped more than once, coloured, cut and layered on top to add dimension

The sentiment is one of three within this set. this one seemed quite fitting.
Ranger Stickles and Glossy Accents add the final touch to this Cute little Snowman.

Thank you for taking a peek and sharing your creative time with me.
Have a sweet day..
