Motion and movement

 Hello creative friends

Flicking through unfinished journal pages I came
across this rice paper image of two ballet dancers.

How graceful they look, lost in the moment.

Stencil marks surrounding them almost slows down their motion,
calculating every movement. With gold stenciled gesso and gems
it seems to add to the drama like a huge spotlight on stage.

I love how the white highlights track and trace their steps.

The words *They gave no more thought* provokes emotion
for us to imagine their story through our own eyes...

Wishing you well this weekend,
Stay safe & creative

Hugs Tracey xx

Oh this is gorgeous Tracy. The colors are amazing and your are right the white is like light. The dancing is delicate. I miss going to the ballet. Have a wonderful evening.

I'm amazed at how the dancers are in perfect rhythm and movement, yet frozen in time. Such a lovely beauty for Rain's TAD, but also an incredibly great entry for Sheila's theme at Art Journal Journey, too. Simply perfect with the white lines that show perceived movement, too.

I so enjoy coming to Rain's Art Date. I find so many people with such creativity and artistic insight that many times I leave thinking how inadequate and useless my own skills are and vow to improve.

A beautiful picture of movement on this rice paper. The ballerina couple imaginatively depicted with shapes and colors, a dream!
Have a good weekend, hug Elke

You've made two gorgeous pages, Tracey. The ballet dancers look so alive. I was wondering how you made the gold patterns, especially the ones on the left, but I worked out that they must be part-stencils. They contribute to the sense of movement so well. The purple shades in the background add to the magic.
Thanks very much for another lovely entry to the Single Flower theme at AJJ.
Also thanks very much for your very nice comment on my blog this morning.

Ballet not only represents movement, but subtlety and grace. Perfect choice for the theme.

This page is wonderful. I think the dancers are beautiful on their own, but you did add motion and a stop to their motion with the stenciling. Very clever. Beautiful art and finished page Tracey. Thanks for sharing this with us at both Try It on Tuesday (that is wow stenciling) and also AJJ. I found the flower too. Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs-Erika

Such beautiful art pages, Tracy! The dancers are dancing in a enchanted atmosphere where their grace and precision are accentuated with the great background. They cause the air to stir and react. Quite an artistic way to bring the dancers and their dance to life.

Oh there definitely is motion and a story in your page ... and as I am wont to do, I also see a face and dragon flies about. I would have to give thought to what roll they play in the dancers movement, but they do add movement of their own. This is delightful Tracey. Hope you stay well in these difficult times ...

This is absolutely beautiful Tracey, you can definitely see the movement. As the world's clumsiest person, and the polar opposite of graceful and elegant (even though I was born on a Tuesday) I do love to see it in others. Take care and have a very happy weekend, Sue xx

Wow, what stunning pages! I love the ballet couple and the way you have created the spotlight and movement with the stencilling - so amazing 😀. The flower was a lovely touch too and the richness of the colours is beautiful! Me and hubby have had our first vaccinations and I took my mum and dad for there second one last week - yay! I hope that all is well with you too and wishing you a happy new week! Hugs, Jo x
