This month I have an altered notebook to share with you BUT
before I do may I say I lost a whole weekend early January
cutting and water colouring these stunning colorize blooms,
my main focal this month and I loved every second of it..
I digress.. oopps now where was I..?
Oh yes onto those altered notebook how to do's..
First covering a plain notebook in Kraft card embossed using Tim Holtz
Texture Fades 3-D Typewriter folder, I dry brushed with black gesso
adding a tickle of gilding wax to highlight those typewriter keys.
There's not many mixed media creations of mine that escape without
the addition of lace and when teamed up with pearls it just adds to
the romance.. The strawberries and champagne of mixed media.. 😊
Cutting out individual letters from the embossed Typewriter folder
I chose to spell the word noted as my intention for this book
was to use it to document and sketch creative ideas.
Layered leaves, buds and rose with twisted wire and bead
stems it just brought everything together harmoniously..
Complete with it's pearl & glass heart junk jewellery bookmark
roll on spring so we can enjoy those pretty blooms for real !!..

Gorgeous piece. I got the Typewriter folder but haven't decided yet what to do with it but to be honest I've been a bit busy with some moulds and resin but I might just have to get back to some embossing soon. Have a lovely weekend, Angela xXx

Wow, this is stunning! I love how you used that new Thinlit set, this one set is still on my wish list as I ordered a different one instead ...lol 😀. The way you layered the leaves and foliage is amazing and I love the typewriter embossing folder; how you used it for the background and wording is just perfect! Those pearls look beautiful too, anything goes with mixed media right 😉. Thanks for the inspiration and I hope you are doing ok, long time no chat. Wishing you a happy February and weekend! A lovely project while waiting for Spring indeed. The flowers are beautiful, the pearls elegantly finish the project.
I got the die and embossing folder but have not had chance to play with them, but wow, thank you so much for the wonderful inspiration. The flower looks so beautiful and I love how you picked up the colour in the typewriter letters. Another wonderful creation!

When I saw the first photograph with the roses I was in full agreement with you getting carried away with the making of them as they are gorgeous but then I came to the full card and it was a WOW moment. Absolutely gorgeous and now I want/need that embossing folder for a project I am about to do.

Absolutely stunning and so very beautiful. Those dimensional flowers look amazing and no wonder you enjoyed doing them....love the way you did the sentiment too with the 3D embossing and cutting out the individual letters x.

Saw this first a Funky Junkie and was completely blown away by it. This book cover has it all texture, colour, detail and harmony. Truly inspiring. x
Oh Tracey you have blown me away also here with those most beautiful flowers and the whole concept is just so beautiful. Love the addition of the dangly pearls. What a treasured book this must be. Also love your ring. Very celtic and British.
