Crazy Flowers Bookmarks #2

I hope you all had a great Christmas whether you celebrate or not it's always good
to take a break and recharge those batteries even if for just a moment.

The past week has been non stop with various events for me and my family
with today being the first day to actually relax and treat myself to a Pj day
before the festivities start all over again.

Here's two more book marks made and given as gifts
which I can now share with you all.

Just like before in a previous post HERE I stamped onto Calico but this time using
both Crazy Flowers #1 and #2 designed by Melina Dahl from Rubber Dance Stamps.
Marking with a thermo-sensitive pen the width of the bookmarks.

Colouring with inktense pencils the ink was activated with sparkler sprays.
Interfacing and lace backing was sewn onto the bookmark then heat fixed with an iron.
Setacolour Glitter paint was painted on adding extra sparkle.

Ribbon crimps and wire wrapped gems personalised the bookmarks.

I really enjoyed creating these and know they were gratefully received by the book lovers.
I'm looking forward to creating a few more in the New Year.

Time to make the most of some quiet time for me now..
Have fun everyone & Stay Safe

Winter is Coming..!!

So many makes but so little time to blog them all Argghhh..!

Here's a quick share of more little makes on the Eve of the *Winter Solstice*
Using Rubber Dance Whimsical Winter Stamps Designed by Donna Gray.

The log cabin has been stamped onto Calico, coloured with Inktense pencils and
a squidge of Applique Marvy applied then heated to replicate that heavy snowfall.

Sparkle Pens add a touch of glitter.

This little calico hanger has been given a card stamped using stamps
from the same Whimsical Winter set and coloured with Sparkle Pens.

The Tree tops have been laden with stickles glue with a sprinkle of unicorn sparkles.
Creating a sweet gift card when the log cabin hanger is attached.

This little hanger has been given pom pom snow balls.
Here is the front..

.. and on the reverse of course here is the back,
created by simply masking off the door.

These little hanging ornaments have been stuffed with Fire Retardant wadding
but they would be just as wonderful with lavender or Christmas spices..

I personally think they would be fantastic stuffed with catnip!!
I'm sure Donna's cats would just love them Hee hee!!

Log cabin..Wooden Plaque.

I was so happy when I first saw this Rubber Dance stamp set designed by Donna Gray.
I love log cabins and this stamp reminds me of some fantastic holidays
spent with the children when they were younger.

Sadly time is so short this time of year rushing around trying to get things done for the holiday season and I have so many #WIP's but I did take time out to finish this one.

Here is one of my little makes with lots of pictures..

Stamping onto an untreated log slice using archival ink
I mapped out where my images were to be.

Using the stamped images as a guide I painted the trees in different shades of green.

adding flicks of blue to the firs applying snow-tex to the base.

Stamping the log cabin multiple times onto water colour card
each image was coloured in water soluble pencil and sections cut out.

Each section was layered up and adhered using glue gel to create dimension.

The log cabin roof was drizzled in marvy and heated until raised,
with the tree tops and snow-tex both given a wash of white paint.

A sprinkling of glamour dust completes my
Log Cabin plaque.

**Updated picture as we have had lots of snow fall over night!!**

A most enchanting setting for the sweetest of cabins,
wouldn't it be wonderful to be hidden away all cosy inside.

**Can I have a She Shed just like this one for Christmas please Santa??
I've been a very good girl.. Hee hee!*

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone
Take Care & keep warm

Crazy Flower Fabric Bookmark #1

Happy Sunday everyone, I hope you have had a peaceful one.

After a weekend with the family I managed to steal away a few hours to finish off
a little project I started last week in between Christmas card and gift making
using stamps Newly Designed Rubber Dance Stamps by Melina Dahl.

Here is my Handmade Fabric Bookmark and How to do's..

On to Calico I stamped the Tulip shaped flower with Archival
ink and used the backing from the newly mounted rubber stamps
as a mask so I could over lay the flower head design.

When my design was stamped I added colour using Inktense Pencils
activating the ink by running a steam iron over it, spritzing occasionally.

I drew a 2" strip around the design with an erasable pen.

Sandwiching interfacing between another piece of calico I have machine
sewn around those pen lines three times and cut the strip neatly out.

Pebeo Setacolour gold and white paints have been added to emphasize
part of the design and Setacolour Glitter paint adds the glitz.

Attaching ribbon crimps to each end of the bookmark along with beads gives the
balance needed to keep the bookmark in place and adds those final embellishments.

 My Handmade Bookmark is complete.

Thank you to Melina, these stamps are wonderful.

Looking forward to playing around with the rest of the set and
Crazy Flowers #2 very soon.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Warm Hugs

October Tag: Carving Time.

Halloween it's a small step away but i'm sure many of you who celebrate will have Fancy dress party's this weekend if not already attended. Judging by the amount of fireworks around here I think my neighbours are all partied out now.

On that note i'm sharing my October Tag: Carving Time using those same prompts that
i've been bringing to you each month with the courtesy of Chris.

Here is my October Tag: Carving Time

Covering a Tando long tag in black gesso I painted over it with Burning Bonfire
IndigoBlu paint. When dry I dragged Yellow Meringue paint across the top.
Clear 3D gloss has been pushed through a tree stencil from imagination crafts.

Short threads from my scrap stash have been applied using matt medium.
A layer of Orange Shimmer paint was painted on top with Antique Gold
Multi Surface paint flicked on to the dry surface.

Using the same Tree stencil I applied Black Gesso through it and covered in a coating of clear Gesso. As you may be able to see because the Black Gesso was not quite dry and it smudged the tree's but I do think it adds a little atmosphere.

Birds from Rubber Dance were stamped with archival ink.

The sweet pumpkin image was sent to me by Pat (Thank You)
and perfect for this tag. Glued to the tag I added some doodles with a Posca pen
and enhanced the darker areas of the pumpkins with a black Biro pushing a little
harder than normal to created an impression.

Distress glitter and gems help to enhance the pumpkins with the Tim Holtz words
*Carving Time * adding a sinister twist to my finished Tag.

Colour coordinating Ribbon, cord and orange beads completes my October Tag..

Apologies for the last photograph as it doesn't do those wee pumpkins justice
but I seem to have mislaid my camera under the frenzy of my Christmas card making.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone.

Warm Hugs & Creativity
