#WOYWW 473

It's Wednesday and time for WOYWW 473

I promise not to bore you all with my rambles of dysfunctional IT this week but appreciate everyone's concerns comments and quick fixes last week. I've started another penny pot to save up for a new laptop and in the mean time learning different ways to juggle the whole windows 10 breakdown..

Today is a good day as it's the first day in a while that I get to spend the whole day at home.
Already set up, i'm ready to have a me day seed bead sorting and a little wire work
hoping to finish a couple of projects off.

I received this wonderful package last week, a blog candy prize I won a few months back.
Unaware I had won it lucky for me my dear friend Dorthe noticed and notified me.

I'm a very lucky girl.

I made a little card for Kezzy to say Thank you using some of those products..
I hope she has received it by now as it was posted Sunday Evening first class..

A little something for Dorthe is on it's way too..
but i'm keeping that a surprise..

Look forward to catching up with WOYWW later today
courtesy of our host Julia over at the stamping ground.

Paperbabe Challenge #76 - Anything Goes!!

It's time for another Paperbabe Challenge and a chance for one Lucky participant
to win a Paperbabe prize. This fortnights theme is *Anything Goes* a firm favourite
of many giving YOU the chance to share your artistic Flare however you choose.

Here's my take on the Paperbabe #76 Anything Goes Challenge
along with those how to do's..

Onto an A5 sketch book I drew around both faces included in the mini face template
set, stamped the facial features and added my base colours using neocolor II's

Glued into an A4 journal page used to mop up distress oxides. I scribbled neocolors into
a palette watered them down and used them to match up those background colours.

Distress oxides were blended through the Checkerboard and Polka dot
stencils and the bubble stamps used to enhance the background.

Drawn head wraps embellished with Sari yarn top knots accessorize my portraits.

Masking around the collar I used the candle stamp to add interest to the neckline.

Glitter glue and jump rings found amongst some junk jewellery add those final touches.

The warmth and character from these beautiful ladies and their vibrant
head wraps inspired me to start this creation during a recent holiday.

I look forward to seeing what inspires you to maybe join in with the

Wishing you sunny Summer Days.

#WOYWW 472

Happy WOYWW 472 (I think..?)
What a week!!

Tormented by windows 10 updates, ridiculed with messages relating to my lack of memory every time I sign in along with a very poor internet connection. Two tabs open is a thumbs up for 10 minutes, try three tabs and i'm treading on very thin ice feeling I've been given the two finger sign rather than one thumb.. How rude!!

To top it all after battling with external hard drives I've now been told my little laptop is NOT capable of installing the new updates even with a factor reset .. Argghh!!

I have now come to the conclusion that these updates are all out to make money from us. Technology can be a wonderful thing so why can someone not design one to suit us all??

It drives me barmy.. but I will carry on regardless clinging on like a wee kitten to a curtain!!

Anyway less of my complaints..

Well my work space this week is a real mess..!!
Piles of WIP's and DT makes all hidden under my latest That's Crafty Purchase, couldn't resist ordering the Journal Kit as I really enjoyed creating my DT one. Also an A5 set of Lynne's new stamps perfect for some female cards I need to make a start on.

The little card with the car is for someone special that has just passed her driving test.
Perfect little car stamp design by Donna Gray from Rubber Dance Stamps.

Well that's it from me this week.
Hope to catch up with Julia our host over at her stamping ground
and as many of the WOYWW(ers) as possible..

Take Care everyone.

One for the Boys...

Happy Sunday to all those special male figures out there.

I don't get chance to join in with many blog challenges anymore
but needing a quick male card this week reminded me of the

Inspired by Yvonne's creation from the TioT DT
this IndigoBlu stamp was perfect for it's purpose.

Simply stamped onto watercolour card a scene has been
created around it with glitter glue adding a speck of sparkle.

I'm sure there will be lots of boy cards flying around today..

Happy Sunday Hugs
and enjoy your day.

WOYWW 471

Hello everyone,

It's WOYWW 471 the day to share whats on our work desks with our host Julia
over at her Stamping Ground and checkout everyone else's work space.

I was not around to share what was on my work space last week as I was on my holidays.
A much needed break doing nothing but daydreaming.. the best thing to revive creativity!!

I did take a photograph of what was on my holiday work space for WOYWW470
this is what popped out of my travelling Art Case with a few WIP's hidden underneath.

This weeks WOYWW 471 is a little different as i'm now back home chasing my tail
trying to finish off some jewellery commissions.... those few days away seem an age away!

Like a magpie I collect jewellery of all kinds, some I deconstruct to recreate new pieces, use in mixed media or use in textile art but some I collect just because... Here's a close up of the box on the left with my latest find a collection of vintage hand beaded necklaces..

How could anyone want to get rid of these?
I've a few ideas already how to reinvent them..

Thank you for stopping by, i'll be around to visit asap.

Paperbabe Challenge #75: It's a Sketch!!! Vintage Gift Pocket

Hello Everyone..

It's Sketch time over on the #75 Paperbabe Challenge
with this fortnight asking you to use the image below to inspire your creativity.
The "paperbabe stamps" can represent any sentiment and the image an embellishment.
Use the sketch in any creative way, flip it, turn it but most of all be inspired by it.

Here's what I have been up to along with those How to Do's.

I first created a template following the sketch prompt, placed onto calico and traced around it. I wanted to create a pocket so doubled up the amount of fabric so I could fold it back on itself. Machine stitching around the edge to give me a straight guide I placed the long striped stencil over the fabric and painted on matte medium.

This would act as a resist when dry.

Distress Oxides have been used to add colour to the calico, picking up a variety of watered down colours by dabbing the fabric into those coloured puddles. The white stripes are the matt medium applied earlier. When dry this was heat set from the back using an iron.

Onto silk ribbon I stamped the small Paperbabe red rubber rose directly onto the ribbon using Tattered Rose Oxide and heat set very gently from the back using an iron.

The stamped ribbon was sewn onto a strip of lace then sewn onto the fabric, the fabric was then folded over leaving the circle free to act as the closure. Both sides were then sewn up to create that pocket. The sentiment taken from the MayLeeDee Alice stamp set was stamped onto Rice Paper.

Applied to the closure a piece of left over stamped ribbon was tied into a bow
and sewn onto the pocket front, completing my Vintage Gift Pocket creation.

Inside it holds a little gift just waiting to be given.

Thank you so much for visiting and so sorry I am late with my post,
I've been away and not sure why it did not post Friday as scheduled
but it's here now.. Happy days..!!

I've missed you ALL..
and will be round to visit as soon as i've sorted the laundry out!!
Creative wishes for a wonderful week.

Paperbabe New Release ~ Clockwork Frame

It's the third and final day of the *New* Paperbabe releases
and today it's my turn to share what I have been up to using the *Clockwork Frame*

Using the Hatter and Rabbit template I sketched in the faces directly onto the MDF Board.
I used the gear and tea cup overlaying panel piece (included in the kit) as a guide and reminder to myself to leave enough room for those important details.

The new stripes and gears stencils are a two way system allowing you to mask off
and layer over the top to add the gear details, the pattern also repeats giving you the
option to design on a much larger scale... the limits are endless

The new eye masks are the perfect addition to the collection helping to mask around the
stamped eye stopping any overhang from showing when the pupil and iris are stamped in.

Laying down the base colours using neocolor II I added the finer detail with pencils.

The pocket watch, tea cup and extra gears are all separate elements included
in the Clockwork Frame Kit. Added sand paste mimics corrosion and
media fluids create that deep rusty colour.

Pencil and a fine liner adds shade and definition down the stripes and around those gears
with any unused elements added to the background area to replicate gear fasteners.

With the wall hanging fastenings glued onto the back
my Clockwork Frame is complete.

Paperbabe *NEW* Releases will be available to purchase on the website from 2nd June
a fabulous addition to compliment the Alice Collection or for larger mixed media pieces.

Thank you for taking time to pop on over and take a look.
Wishing you a marvellous week.
