It's Hot, Hot, Hot... Guest Design spot at Try it on Tuesday.

Hello Creative Friends,

It's lovely to be back as Guest Designer over at
Try it on Tuesday. Honoured again to be invited
let me share a piece I created for this fortnights
theme HOT, HOT, HOT...!!

Whilst thinking of idea's I came across a superb stamp and a
piece of calico i'd pasted this magnificent Tiger napkin to.
With the intention of creating a cushion, time was sadly
not on my side so it led me to my back up plan...

Masking the edges of an A3 journal page I scraped on fibre paste and
gesso using the pot as a template to create a sun within this scene.

Acrylic inks of reds and yellows are dripped and sprayed with
water then left to find their own way across the textured page.
Love how the gesso acts as a resist leaving areas of white space.

With the fabric stamped image cut out and glued along the horizon
I added warmth to the sun using orange to compliment that red sky.

Separating and gluing more Tiger napkins to card I was able
to cut out sections for layering to help create dimension.

A Tiger's markings have always fascinated me with it's unmistakable
stripes and those white spots at the back of it's ears... remarkable.

Pasting a base layer of napkin onto the journal scene tall grasses
are painted in before layering up those magnificent markings. .

Carefully removing the masking tape when
finished leaves a clean crisp border edge

with some hand made washi tape to use at a later date.

Stippling in an extra cloud everything flows so much better in three's...
My Hot, Hot, HOT.. journal page is complete...

With climate change and deforestation this piece could almost
conceal a message as those animals all shelter under the same tree..

With thanks to all over @ TioT
I know they would love you to join them
and share your Hot, Hot, Hot creations...

Sending creative Hugs
& wishes your way

Tracey xx

Wow, what a stunning make! I enjoyed finding out how you created it, the stamp and tiger image are amazing 😁. As is your painting, I love how you used the Calico and white gesso resist - beautiful! The way you layered up the napkin pieces for your 3D tiger is just perfect too 😀. Thanks so much for the inspiration and for joining us as Guest Designer at Try it on Tuesday! Happy and creative wishes! Hugs, Jo x

LOVE the way you created perspective here, Tracey, with the stunning tiger face and the beautiful African silhouette...it's absolutely stunning! AND you did manage (unlike me) to get the streaks in the hot sky. I can almost feel the heat coming off the ground on this. That fibre paste looks intriguing...I can feel a spend coming on ;-) It really is gorgeous.
Thank you so much for your inspiration. You demonstrate a whole new level of preparation and piecing everything together as a whole.

A fabulous page Tracey, its good to have you as our guest designer again at TioT'a.
You can imagine the heat and the scene
It is an awesome tiger image you used and I really liked reading about how you create this.
The animals sheltering and the reference to climate is one that we should all embrace as our world changes.

Congratulations on being chosen as this fortnight's guest designer, dear Tracey. Your art always inspires me and it's always hot, although possibly NOT in the way it is in this post. I always love your step-out photos, too. This is a great journal page to inspire us all. It's also a good earth friendly message, too.
