What's on your workdesk ? Wednesday 532

Hello Everyone,

Well last week is a blur, incredibly busy teamed with a
stinker of a migraine so difficult to see straight to
focus online, read and type. I near deleted last weeks
post trying to amend a link... but there's a meet up at
Julia's Stamping ground today so i'll try my best
to keep up with everyone & slowly play catch up.

Short and sweet here's what's on my WOYWW 532 desk today.
Cards to write and send this week. The top one is for
a friends Silver wedding Anniversary.

Can't believe it's a year ago that I showed you this for my 25th.
I'll be giving this one again this week as Hubby & I hit our 26th.

Look forward to seeing What's on your Workdesk.

Oh poor you with a migraine, they're awful when you get them bad like that and it leaves you spaced out for a good couple of days. I really hope you feel better soon. That's a beautiful anniversary card, so pretty!

Morning Tracey. Lovely cards for the celebrations. Congratulations on 26 years together to you and your hubby. Thanks for already visiting - yes, the washing is indeed all done, and I'm thinking about trip number 4... I feel incredibly privileged and blessed to be able to spend so much time, energy, and erm, yes, finance, on this year out. A young friend from church called it my "gap year"! As I never had one all those years ago, going straight from school to college then into teaching, without a break, well, I rather like the idea! I have indeed been to some amazing places - places my lovely hubby and I could never go to together as he couldn't manage them. Teehee - his mobility scooter would have paled at the mere sight of the hills in Richmond!!, and he couldn't have managed the Farne Islands as we would never have got the scooter onto the catamaran then over the rough paths on the island. I'll show you the next set of pictures in October - I'll be off again at the end of the month for a final month away (Poor caravan - not suitable for cold weather travelling - it is rather elderly!)
Take care dear girl. Trust you feel better for your anniversary. God bless.

Beautiful anniversary cards, Tracey! I just went through my box of stamps the other day (yes, I keep them all jumbled in a big box!) and came across that same elephant stamp I never knew I had! Happy anniversary and hope your migraines get better soon! Lots of us ladies of a certain age are blighted by migraines - I'm sure it's hormone related, yet they try to treat the symptoms not the cause! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa #19

Your anniversary cards are lovely - I had to laugh as I thought the image was of a Saluki dog, then I caught sight of Sarah's comment about the entwined elephants and had a closer look - it's obvious now!! I do hope your migraine's ease off soon, such horrible things to suffer from. Happy anniversary, I hope you and your hubby enjoy your special day and thank you so much for your visit to my desk and your kind wishes,

That is ridiculous - nobody should have a migraine for so long. Oh Tracey, I am so sorry you are suffering like this. I once worked with a girl who had bad migraines and she had injections for them. Wonder if they would help you? Wish I had a magic wand to wave for them to go.
Love the anniversary card - and congratulations on your anniversary to you and your husband. Enjoy your special day!
Lots of Love

Oh no Tracey, I am so very sorry that you have to put up with these horrible migraines, I really feel for you, I only get mild ones very occasionally and they are bad enough. I hope it is a very long time before you get another one! Your anniversary card is beautiful, happy anniversary to you both. I hope the rest of your week goes well. Take care my friend. Oh ghastly for you Tracey, a migraine that puts you out for so long, I wish I knew of something to suggest, I bet you’ve tried every idea and potion out there. Hope too you’ve had time to bask in the glory of your wonderful Quirky Dutch Summer submission, how fab. And see. Your creativity is astonishing isnt it...you look at my desk and see bonus from what I see as an impossibly silly aperture cutting embossing folder. I’ll stop whining about it any day now, honestly! Congratulations and happy anniversary, aren’t we lucky to have found the right special person. My husband was only saying today that the length of our marriage is largely because being together is the only decision we’ve managed to make as a couple without major delay and difficulty....(we are trying to choose a carpet for upstairs and a floor covering for the extension) we aren’t arguing at all...just totally bewildered by all the choice!!

Hi Tracey so sorry to hear you've been feeling unwell. I hate migraine, I get them when we come back from France. It's a bit strange really but I suffer from the drop in altitude. I'm fine when we go up the mountain but ill when we get home, mind you the part of Lincoln where we live is only 10 meters above sea level whereas we are at least 300 meters above sea level for a couple of weeks. I believe it's got something to do with the inner ear, all I know is that's it's awful but have found ways to manage it. Wishing you a happy woyww and a lovely creative week, Angela x15x

Happy anniversary, Tracey! I love the card you have made - the black borders are so stylish, and the design also, being so minimalist. It's great. Very sorry indeed to hear about your migraine - I know exactly what that's like and can sympathise big time, it's no joke. Interesting what Angela says about getting them when coming back from high mountains. Atmospheric pressure is certainly a factor for me too - in my 20s I had none all through that incredible summer of 1976 but as soon as the weather broke, I got 3 that week! I used to suffer very badly with them when I was younger but they are still not great post-menopause.

Thank you for visiting. I agree about the colours of the veggies. They say "eat the rainbow" for health, and I so enjoy all the gorgeous colours of our food, as well as the flavours. You are right about the smell, too! So fresh and good. Funny about the flat peaches - I've only just discovered them because our neighbour gave us some, and I like them really soft! They sit on top of the microwave to ripen, because that spot gets lots of sun! Thank you for your supportive and understanding words about my scan experience! I find these days you have to be really assertive at times, in order to get the right thing to happen.

Happy WOYWW,

Really interested to read your comment about the migraines, Angela - see what I wrote in my comment to Tracey. Also, the pain of migraine is caused by the blood vessels in the brain dilating, and I've always put it down to lower atmospheric pressure (i.e. weather changing for the worse) meaning less pressure on the vessels and thus more dilation, but the atmospheric pressure would be increased on your return to Lincolnshire from the mountains, wouldn't it. It's a mystery! I am sure that atmospheric pressure does have a role, though. I'd not heard it was to do with the inner ear.

Congratulations on your 26th, Tracey! I love the elephants in the hearts, so sweet! Your desk is very full, you have about as much room to work in as I do (not much!). So sorry to hear about your migranes, no fun at all. I hope you feel better next week. Thanks for your visit, Lindart #26
