TioT Winter Wonderland ~ Guest Designer

Hello Creative Friends.

I'm delighted to be back as a Guest Designer over at Try it on Tuesday
and with the countdown to Christmas now on this fortnights theme is...

Here's what I created along with those How to do's..

Using a mini clipboard i'd covered in Holly collage paper and washi tape I
Stamped script and pushed paste through stencil words to add dimension.

Altering the clip with grunge paste I reattached it to the board
adding a wash of walnut stain all over the clipboard to create age.

Stash pattern papers were used to die cut, Holly, Mistletoe and Fir
branches, coloured and shaded with a combination of pens and ink.

Those die cut Holly leaves really accessorise the collage board
along with a handful of flat back pearls and dots of embossing powder.

Mistletoe, Fir branches and wire wrapped pearls are all tied
together with a little red bow adding feature to the clip.

Unloved paper stash has been die cut using the largest die from TH Stacked
Deckle set to create blank notelets/Card Toppers and Tags ready to decorate
and give as a token of appreciation or label a given gift.

Stamped, embossed and embellished, one I've painted in black Gesso
creating a changeable Chalkboard... How many more sleeps??

Many toppers amongst this pile await their Christmas card completion..
Here's a couple created using double sided sticky tape & a Holiday word die.

A dab of mica powder rids that excess sticky tape creating a *Twofer*
Two toppers, tags or notelets from one die.. Now that I like..

With a die cut December Topper embellished with left over Holly Leaves
it's created a great cover to hide all those Christmas toppers within it.

Think I just might have to create an all year round one of these..
as it would be invaluable to have a ready made card topper to hand.

Please pop on over HERE and see what the creative
TioT team have created for you this fortnight.

I'm sure you will all have some Winter Wonders to share.

Wishing you all a wonderful week and
a BIG Thank you to the TioT Gang for having me.
It's been a pleasure..

Paperbabe Stamps ~ #87 Sketch Challenge

Happy Friday Everyone

It's time for another Paperbabe Blog Challenge.
This fortnight we give you a Sketch to follow as your prompt.

Use the image below to help create and interpret your design
there's a prize for one lucky random winner if you share your creations.

Here's how I interpreted the Sketch with a very quick and easy design.

Onto three Peaceful Flurrie Substrates I embossed first in white then
stamped the matching Peaceful Flurries stamps  on top.

Onto a canvas sheet lightly dabbed with paint I machine stitched three lines to
represent the prompt and stamped with my favourite Spritz and Speckle Stamp

With a sentiment from the Sparkle Bright Stamp Set
those prompt elements are ready to be added.

Gem stones and glitter glue brings on that festive sparkle..

Glued onto a burlap journal cover this would make a great gift for an arty friend.

We do hope you will pop on over to the Paperbabe Blog
and see what the Design Team have created to inspire you.

Wishing you all a super weekend

#WOYWW 494

Happy Wednesday Everyone..

It's time to share what's on our work desks and check out others who care
to share over @ the Stamping ground Thanks to our host Julia for it's

My work desk really is a game of two halves this week..
The quiet area with pen nib and cartridge changing.

...and the chaotic!

WIP's that need completing asap.
They may be a little bit Christmassy..

Thank you to all for your kind words last week..

Hubby's stent op was cancelled on Monday due to
(apologies if you are having breakfast etc..) D&V on the ward.

So over the past couple of days I've been like a Teenager glued
to my phone awaiting the call for the next available appointment.. Sigh!!

Look forward to seeing what you've all been up too,
I've missed out on so many woyww and non woyww blogs recently.

Take Care everyone & Happy Thanksgiving
to those that will be celebrating tomorrow.

Hugs Tracey xx

#WOYWW 493

Morning everyone it's time for WOYWW 493 ..
Our mid week show and tell  hosted by Julia over at the stamping ground.

It's so dark this morning so apologies about the glare from the overhead lamp.

There's no new creative activity from me as Hubby goes in for his second stent next
week so i've been getting all those tedious jobs out the way so I can concentrate on him.

After the buzz about die cutting last week Julia prompted a discussion later in the week
*How do you make the cut?* Well as you may remember last week I confessed to not liking
die cutting. I used to think it was because I loathed getting them out as I had no room for
them to live permanently. Last year I brought this little trolley, the bonus is my largest
machine now has a home of it's very own and can be freely wheeled around the room..

The down side is it hasn't brought anymore love to the die cutting table
from me but I sure do enjoy wheeling that trolley around!!

Look what the lovely Angela sent me on Friday, two fabulous hand painted rocks.

As Angela leaves these in random places for people to find I'd commented on how i'd love
to find one of those pumpkins and Angela kindly offered to send me one, what a wonderful
surprise to find not only the pumpkin but also one of her fabulous Dragon Eye stones too..
Thank you again Angela, they were so sweetly wrapped in your handcrafted paper.

The rock above is one I made at school well over 40 years ago hee hee..

and finally i'm sharing my self indulgent purchase this week
from Tilly Tea Dance wrapped beautifully by Jo (Twiglet) ..

I couldn't resist when I saw this, the Poppies reminded me of the adults with open arms
and the three daisy's like children.. Truly amazing detail from Maxine the creator and if
you have not seen her work you really do need to pop on over and check out her website

That's it from me today, I may be a little slow getting round as we have
friends and family visiting for the rest of the week before Hubby's next op..

Thank you again for your kind words they mean so much.

We will Remember...

Good Morning Creative Friends..

I'd not planned on sharing this piece but as today is Remembrance Sunday
and the Centenary of the end of the First world War it seemed appropriate.

Inspired by the book Warhorse, I introduced those modern mechanical
workings from the stage show into my Horse study using glue and
gave the Horse a watercolour wash when the glue began to dry.

The journal background was created using structure paste, old brown paper
and seed beads I'd rescued from a broken vintage necklace.

With those raised glue areas dry and highlighted with metallic pen,
I tried to capture the silhouette of Soldiers along the horizon within the eye..

Painted and layered scraps of paper form the Head collar,
with brads and punched holes added for extra detail.
Brown paper, ribbon and twine give dimension to the Horse mane
graced with one single poppy OUR Symbol of remembrance.

Written words are just one paragraph taken from *For the Fallen*
written by Laurence Binyan and one I think most have heard before.

For the past, present and future
We WILL Remember them...

Wishing you all peace on this day of memorial.

Paperbabe Stamps Challenge ~ #86 Animals/Pets

Happy Friday Creative Friends,

There's a new challenge theme over on the Paperbabe Blog
with this fortnights theme being Animals/Pets.

I couldn't resist using the White Rabbit templates for this challenge.
Traced onto a canvas sheet I stamped those Rabbit Face features and used the
Cat template to give the shape of the body.. The Rabbit ears I traced separately.

Poppies are so relevant this time of year this napkin adhered
to the Ornate Frame made the perfect backdrop.

It's hard work using pencil on canvas sheets, I lost count of the amount of times
I had to sharpen those pencils.. but it gives an alternative effect to paints.

A wash of blue helps create the skyline with left over poppies
mounted onto card waiting patiently to be layered on top..

I cut a boarder around the Rabbit and ears so I could pull the canvas edge apart to
create the appearance of fur tufts. Now to decide exactly where those ears will go..

With those Rabbit ears tweaked into position and wire whiskers glued into place,
those left over poppies are layered up to complete this idyllic scene.

I do hope you can pop over and see what the Design Team have been up to.

Come and share your Animal or Pet designs over on the Paperbabe Stamps Blog
you may just be the Lucky winner of a Paperbabe prize.

Wishing you all a Peaceful weekend.

#WOYWW 492

Happy WOYWW 492

A mid week catch up with creatives from far and wide
thanks to our lovely Julia over at the Stamping Ground.

Well my desk this week is not as productive as I had hoped,
I've spent most of my time looking for things I've mislaid
and finding things that i'd lost many moons ago.

Not helpful when I've been trying to get my Christmas Mojo cranked..

I appear to have brought lots of dies this year and I have to confess...
I really do NOT enjoy cutting them out..!!
A mammoth cutting spree last Sunday felt like an intense gym workout.

This area has remained redundant since then as I've hidden away with my pens
and pencils making the most of putting my feet up whilst Hubby is resting.
Winter must be on it's way as I feel hibernation is setting in.

Home visits and a pre-op appointment for Hubby this week
so I'll be round to visit asap...

Hugs to you all

Paperbabe Stamps Picture Challenge~ #85

Hello everyone

I'm a little late with this creation but here's a reminder that there's still time to
join in with this fortnights Picture inspired Paperbabe Stamps challenge over HERE.

Use the picture/colours below to awaken your creativity and be inspired.
There's still a week to play and a Paperbabe prize for one lucky participant.
Come and share your creations with us over on the Paperbabe stamps Challenge Blog..

Here's what I got up to and those quick *How to Do's*

Using the Paperbabe Female Head & Torso Template I traced round the face and
stamped out some female facial features. Using the colours from the picture prompt I
free styled those strands of hair and began to colour using pencil & neocolors

Tree's from the Bottle Brush Tree set were stamped and embossed along the horizon.
There must have been some random flecks of glitter hidden within my clear
embossing powder as there is a definite sparkle upon those trees.

Pastels smudged around the hairline and tree's adds an air of mystery
along with oil pastels and inks all fixed with a coating of varnish.

Most bewitching!!

Wishing you a fabulous weekend.

Take Care everyone & make time yourselves.
