January days and nights... appreciate everything

 Hello Creatives

Best wishes to you all for 2026

Our first week has brought freezing temperatures,
snow, ice and storm Goretti ...

Those freezing nights I've taken advantage of a little slow stitching...

finishing a hand felted oak leaf embellished with embroidery and beads

completing a tactile cover for my new 2026 journal

First page I share a mix of media, using paints, die cuts,
pastes, pencil and pen...

depicting the scene outside my window after my dog and I have
taken advantage of making our own marks in the snow..
Love the crunch of footsteps through fresh snow 😊

*expect nothing and appreciate everything*

Wishing you all happiness and much creativity
Hugs Tracey xx

What a wealth of ideas you're showing once again! The way you embroider these individual fabric pieces is so captivating, it looks absolutely enchanting! I wonder if I could manage something like that myself someday... it's so tempting!
I also love your snow picture, such a romantic scene! We're currently experiencing a blizzard sweeping across the land!
Great quote!!!
I wish you a wonderful and happy time of creativity.

I'm a little late commenting, but I am so glad you found some time to link up Tracey. And wow, that cover makes me want to run my hands over it. Hopefully it wouldn't get messed up if I did that. It is amazing. The more I look at it the more details I see. I especially like the beads along the leaf. And your first page with the snow and trees is beautiful too. I like the footprints. They look like my yard with me and dogs tromping around. I hope 2026 has started off in a wonderful way for you, and than you joining in at AJJ and TIOT. It is much appreciated, and I know how busy you are. hugs to you- Erika

That cover is so deliciously tactile and stitched so nicely. And your page spread nails your photo, plus one upgrade: that perfect blue winter sky. Love the footprints, they make your memory complete! Hoping 2026 treats you and yours to many blessings, Tracey! XOX

Tracey, I thoroughly enjoyed your blog post. Your journal cover is incredibly detailed and beautiful, really highlighting your amazing stitching, fabric, and textures. Your first art journal spread is wonderful, with the trees and footsteps seeming to jump off the page. The way you captured your walk with your dog is both sweet and well done. And I especially love your perfect sentiment! Thank you for sharing your talents with us! Happy New Year!

High lovely Tracey. Great photogragh and your representation of it too. We have even more snow where we are at the moment but lots of sun too. I love the footsteps in the snow they are so sweet and a great memory piece. Loving the felted oak leaf too. I haven't said much about it on my blog but spent a lot of last year felting with Sophie Wheatley. I have done felting before but Sophie does lots of 3D fungi and I love both so thought I'd give it a go and it's a nice escape from the paper and card for a while. Hope your new year is happy and creative. Hugs Angela xXx

Tracy! This is magnificent. All of the textures, colors and the simple word, "winter" makes this such an eloquent piece. The second piece, again translate a cold winter's day. Simply brilliant. I invite you to share this with Sunday in the art room. A while back google decide to take all of my side bar away that has my links. Yours was one of them. You are now back on my blog. Have a wonderful day today.
