Hello Creatives
Time for Mixed media challenge #119 @ Creative Artiste
September is world Alzheimer's month
as a carer this is so close to my heart, caring
for other peoples family to now my own 😢
This month I share a project created from fabric, fragments and
embellishments favourite outfit combinations of my dear Mother..
Laid out on a tea stained base I arranged the torn fabrics,
attaching with both hand and machine stitch I gathered,
frayed and embroidered extra detail..
The forget me not is cut from denim enriched with bright fabric paint.
The central eyelet is sewn with thread and attached to the panel.
Hard to choose a fitting sentiment .. this will do for now...
Please be mindful and educated on this dreadful disease
as it will touch the lives of many if not our own...
Creative Hugs
Tracey xx

So pretty!
These fabrics look lovely together and create a beautiful textured page. I especially like the lacier piece next to the denim. I didn't know it was World Alzheimer's month. I've dealt with a few close family members with this and other forms of dementia, and it's a sad disease. And tough to be a carer for too. Stay strong Tracey, and I hope you have a lovely month. hugs-Erika
You've sewn and put this together so imaginatively again, with all the different things.
I love your page! Have a beautiful and happy month!
Hugs Elke
Fabulous journal page, love all the stitching and fabric especially the fabric flower. I lost my Mam to Dementia a few years ago and my husband last year to Alzheimers and Vascular Dementia.

Lovely details on your journal page.
A gorgeous page Tracey and a wonderful memento for you. It's also a brilliant idea as a sensory tool. The different textures are lovely and the Forget Me Not flower is so fitting and looks fabulous. Stay strong xx
Such a beautiful cover with all the different textures, love the forget-me-not and how you did its centre - they grow wild along the paths here and such a beautiful sight to see. It is so hard to see our family members fail with this awful condition, its hard on the whole family xx
The texture of fabrics and stitching can add so much interest to a mixed media piece. Blessings!
A beautiful page Tracey and I love the different fabrics you've used to create texture. The forget-me-not flower is the perfect addition. It's so hard to loose family to this awful condition, stay strong. Avril xx
Oh, this is beautiful and meaningful. You'll be able to find comfort in the textile sensations and memories. Maybe your mom will too. Much love and hugs to you both, and may God continue to help you keep your patience, strength and resolve. XOX
