Doorway to creativity..

Hello creative friends

Last weekend I was gifted a new journal with
pages made completely from recycled coffee cups.

As Valerie is December's host @ Art Journal Journey
often sharing her love for coffee I thought I'd dedicate
Valerie's theme and title to this new creative journal...

With stenciled crackle paste brickwork, I've adhered a
wooden door with decorative wreath and over door swag.

Modelled from memories of past visits to Dublin Ireland,
with it's rows of Georgian terraced house's and large doorways.
I wonder how many people have climbed those mossy steps and
will continue to visit family and friends throughout the years.

A timeless invitation of warmth, security and
companionship from the past, present to the future.

Which just leaves me to wish you all a very
cosy Christmas from my house to yours..

Stay safe and creative
Hugs Tracey xx

What a joyous post, Tracey. I was SO impressed with the idea of recycling old coffee cups. A glorious way to recycle something that most would throw in the trash and not think to recycle. You have given us at Art Journal Journey a beautiful Christmas gift and the door you shared on the cover of that book is so perfect for Valerie's theme.

I hope you and your family have a safe, healthy, joyous Christmas, dear.

Hi Tracey, I love how you have decorated the cover of your new, recycled journal, it looks so good. Your door is perfect, love the brick surround, too, and how you put the title along the spine. Thanks so much for linking to AJJ, and wish you all a merry Christmas, and perhaps a bit of me time for you! Hugs, Valerie

Hi Tracey. Little Freya's looking a bit unsure of what's going on either that or she's been up to something lol! Your journal cover is amazing and I need to pop back and have a look at what else you've been up to. I've been occupied with other stuff this year so you don't need to explain my friend. Your card was lovely though I was unsure at first who had sent it as it was blank inside but saw your stamp on the back so I knew it was from you. I promise to try and do better next year and hopefully catch up with some of your gorgeous art work soon. Take care and have a very happy Christmas. Hugs, Angela xXx

Wow, so glad I cane on AJJ and had a peek at the latest additions. This book of yours is gorgeous, so professional and so beautiful. Love the idea you had of adding the quiote to the spine of the book.
Freya looks as if she is wondering what is going on, or does she know about Father Christmas and is wondering what he is bringing her.
Have a wonderful time
Hugs, Neet xx

I hope you had a wonderful holiday Tracey. And happy Boxing Day. What a cute pup you have. AND what a beautiful new journal too. I'm loving that gorgeous cover your created. I think that is the same door I am using on my page I will post today. Smile. But your cover is definitely nicer. Also adding the doorknob is a great idea too. What a great idea to make a journal out of recycled coffee cups. Is the paper thick? I haven't heard of that before. Thanks so much for joining us at AJJ for Valerie's challenge, and that is great how you dedicated your journal to her by using her theme as the title. It is perfect for moving into the new year, isn't it? Enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend. Hugs-Erika

So sorry to have missed this wonderful post Tracey. Who would not want a gorgeous blue door like that one and the swag is just joyous. I also love the subtle brickwork, it doesn't detract from the beauty of the door. A beautiful journal and such a lovely gift.

Freya looks just adorable, as always! By now it is past New Year so I am wishing you a very happy one! Hugs, Anne xx
