Hello creative friends,
It's all about abstract over @ Rains Thursday Art Date,
something that quite scares me but really most of my
journal backgrounds begin their journey as abstracts..
Here's a piece I finished recently of my pup Freya
in the style of Jennifer Steck's Patchwork Pets..
Poor Freya had an allergic reaction to a sting last weekend 😟
A swollen eye and nose she's been feeling very sorry for herself
this week but on the mend now and back to chasing wasps today.
and just for fun..
As the definition of Abstract is *existing in thought or as an
idea but not having a physical or concrete existence* I give you
Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian man embracing the season..!!
This years family Christmas card maybe?? 😂
Hope this one raises a smile 😏
Stay safe everyone
Creative Hugs

These are Awesome! You are more abstract than you think you are. Of course for me I love this weeks theme. Glad Freya is feeling better. I love this painting for her.
I know what you mean about abstract fear but also what you mean about journal pages starting out abstract. That's a good point. Hope Freya is not about to get stung again. My dog Pete managed to get stung today himself. Happy Thursday. Hugs-Erika
And I will send a thanks for linking the tag up to Try It On Tuesday also. It is a very clever festive take. Hugs again-Erika
OMGoodness Tracey. I own that rubber stamp and would NEVER have thought of that. I did an entire altered book on the Vitruvian Man, and not once would have ever thought of anything that clever. This is wonderful.
I really LOVE your abstracts. You draw so well and you have such a command of color, style, and composition. Well done, dear.
Fabulous interpretation of the theme, love it! Sorry about poor Freya! Thanks so much for joining us at Tag Tuesday, hugs, Valerie
Hee, loving the xmas tag. You could have called it Jingle Bells...xx
These are great, beautiful abstract pictures for the topic!
The xmas tag is wonderful, i love this!!!
Get well soon the Freya!
Have a good day, hugs Elke
Thanks Nicole, I think it's all a state of mind once you conquer that initial thought we become unstoppable x
Isn't it amazing when we stop to think and just see, abstract is everywhere in our art journals.. Freya is much better than last week thank you and i'm grateful her face no longer looks like an abstract itself anymore, I hope Pete recovers quickly Erika poor thing x
Thank you Valerie & you are very very welcome, love to link when I can xx
Oh yes there's many plays on words for that tag haa haa x
Thank you xx Freya is back to her cheeky ways again now I just hope she has learnt her lesson but I think maybe not :/
Thanks so much Elizabeth, if time allowed there would be much more I find time is my biggest restriction with art. Glad you like my extra accessories for the Vitruvian Man, I think he looks quite dashing haa haa and this may not be the last you see of him before the end of the year :D
Fabulous journal pages-and love the patchwork pic of poor Freya -they don't learn do they bless her.Love the brilliant Christmas tag too

Tracey, I think it's really neat to see art designs using real things like you did with your pup. Great job! I wouldn't have thought too much about the bookmark until I read your comment about raising a smile and that's when I lost it. lol Fab job this week. Have a doodletastic week, my dear!
Terrific art ~ Your tag is hysterical! I can think of a few friends that would love that as a christmas card :) Poor puppy, wasp stings are nasty! Take care ~
Lovely abstract and Da Vinci thoughts!
Freya is beautiful as an abstract and I am guessing as a for really dog as well. Sorry about her bee sting. My Izzi has gone through that more than once as she just can't resist sticking her nose in places it doesn't belong. My vet said it was safe to give her 1/2 of a Benedryl which stops the histamine reaction and minimizes the swelling ... in the event that Freya runs into another bee. And I did smile at Leonardo da Vinci's Vitruvian man. Who wouldn't wonder what da Vinci would have thought of his private parts being hidden by holly berries :) A fun post, for sure, Tracey

Yes your tag sure did raise a smile and what a fun idea to use as a Christmas card!!!!! x. I am so sorry about Freya but so glad she is on the mend x. The visualisation of Freya in your patchwork pet style looks absolutely amazing Tracey x.
Hi Tracy, the tag is brilliant and I love your interpretation of Freya. That's dogs for you, they insist in sticking their noses in places where it's better not to but pleased she's feeling better. Love the journal pages too. Happy creative week, Angela xXx
Your Vitrivian man has found himself a good place. And your abstract is stunning. Masterful colours
Thanks for dropping by my blog today
Much👩🎨love
Fantastic post as always, take care. xx Have a lovely weekend ... 🎊
Love those journal backgrounds (I could just do backgrounds forever - never mind putting anything else over the top of them!). And Vitruvian man certainly made me smile. Sweet portrait of Freya. Happy to hear she's recovering from her reaction - but you'd think she'd have learned to steer clear of the wasps!!

What a fabulous tag Tracey, Da Vinci man looks very festive indeed! And I'm sure he'll raise a few eyebrows as well as smiles.
Thanks for sharing with us at Try it on Tuesday
Hugs Avril xx
Tracey, Your abstracts are beautiful, loved Freya in patterns! The Vitruvian man take has a great sense of humour to it! Love how you used it to full effect!
Oh my word what a cool take on my theme! I love it! Thanks so much for joining my Christmas theme at Tag Tuesday this fortnight.

Yes, journal page backgrounds are abstract works of art - sometimes could be left that way!! Love multi coloured Freya, hope she's careful with those wasps now!
Your Vitruvian man tag is fabulous - it certainly would make a fun Christmas card! Thank you so much for giving me a smile and for joining us at Try It On Tuesday, Chrisx
First off, I am glad Freya is feeling better, but she clearly has not learned a lesson - lol. Hope she doesn't get another sting!
Your abstracts are always beautiful, love those two you share and Freya's portrait is just stunning.
As for Vitruvian man, I actually spit my tea out, he is hilarious - that would be the most fun Christmas card ever. You have a great imagination and oodles of talent of course! Hugs, Anne xxx
Oh poor Freya, they all do it don't they! I'm so glad she's feeling better. Your abstract picture of her is amazing. I always think it's not just the doing, it's the thinking about it in the first place. I'm with Anne, I nearly choked on my coffee at your Leo piece, you MUST send it as this years card. Take care, Sue xx
Love your abstracts, especially the small one! Abstract was a tough one for me, too, on TAD. And your Christmas tag is too funny!
I feel sorry for Freya but she inspired you to a great abstract :)
Completely brilliant! Hope Freya is still doing ok, Jo x
Hi Tracey :)) Your journal backgrounds are very pretty! :) Oh Freya...that's a lovely work of art, I love the patchwork look! But poor thing! Our Charlie chases deer flies, wasps, snakes...you name it she thinks it's a toy. A few times a year, her face swells up to a scary size...that's when we know she's been after spiders. 72 hours on Benadryl and she's okay but your heart goes out to them doesn't it? Ha ha! I love your "Leo" Christmas jingles! Hee hee!! ;)
Yes, I had to smile at your fabulous Christmas tag Tracey!
Your abstract doggy is simply fantastic!
