Taking a moment.. We're all beautiful!

Hello Creative Friends

As the rain poured heavily replenishing the earth and
temperatures returned to normal it was nice to have some
free time today to get back online and blog just because..

Here's a little creative play before the heavens opened.

Making use of a page in my salvaged scraps journal
motivational words were added using stencils and paste.

Splodged on gesso helps protect and seal those snippets.

Splats, splots, flicks and dots add an element of colour.

Distress Oxide sprays look so dramatic when sprayed
up close but gesso soon soaks up those splodges. Like our
thirsty earth lapping up the rain the evidence is soon lost...

with pressed lavender harvested from the garden ..

areas of purple watercolour define the depth of texture
with a kind word added to complete the page.

*We're all beautiful*

I'm always amazed how these salvaged scrap pages transform,
they make me stop and think before I throw anything away...

With our busy full speed ahead lives
we're all in need of days just like this..

Wishing you all a fabulous week,

Creative Hugs
Tracey xx

Fantastic page, love it. Glad you got some rain. It's cooling off here, but still no rain, pity! Have a great week, hugs, Valerie

A fabulous page Tracey, love the addition of the lavender.
We did need the rain, although I would like some 'gentle' sunshine now instead of these grey skies.
Thanks for sharing this with us at Try it on Tuesday,
Avril xx

Gorgeous texture and design. Must be stunning in live, Tracey!
We had the most hot days for ever last week. Now it's cooling down, no rain yet.
Have a inspiring week ahead xx

I love this, Tracey. As you say, it's amazing just how beautiful our junk can become with a little TLC. The texture is amazing, but it's also a bit of a time capsule. You've put the focus on what's best about this time of year with the lavender and pushed all the junk of our lives into the background, where it belongs... Life happens all around us; we just need to focus on the good things, as you have done. It's a fabulous example of prophetic art! You've inspired me in more ways than you realise.
Hope you eventually slept and have an absolutely amazing week! We've had a lot less sun up here than the rest of the UK and a lot more rain... but hey, when the weather isn't as good, we get more time to play, even if the long days are shortening!
So pleased you played with our Splatters and Splodges challenge at Try it on Tuesday.

Absolutely beautiful. The textures here are beyond fabulous, and I love the inclusion of the real lavender (one of my favourite things to do). The soft subtle colour tones of the finished page are wonderful.

Yes, Anne suggested Oxide contamination, but I'm pretty sure it was a direct chemical interaction between the ink and the embossing powder. Some of those browns do have a greenish tinge (I'm thinking Frayed Burlap)...

Dearest Tracey, this is extreamly beautiful, - so amazing a transformation, and with wonderful texture and depth -- the change made using gesso almost all over the whole panel after adding bits and pieces , is fantastic, yes I love it. Also lov e your lavenders,- and still treasure the bouquet you gifted me last year .This is adorable - and I`m happy for you, you also had a great rainy day, we need it here, so much, today it is 32C so too much !!!
A wonderful new week to you, dear friend- and warmest hugs, from me- xoxoxoxo

I do love your page Tracey. So much lovely texture and the way you've positioned the lavender with the Beautiful is just right. You're very creative and I know I've already told you that but its what keeps coming to mind as I scroll down your post. Very inspiring too, I shall get out the gesso and have a little go at something different (for me). Thanks for showing your gorgeous works :D)xx

Tracey, you always come up with the most beautiful art, even from scraps. This is most impressive and gorgeous, too. Thanks for taking us through the steps, too. Of course, I am also thrilled you shared this journal page with us at Art Journal Journey, too.

Ooooh, that lavender! It is so beautiful mingling in all that wonderful texture you created in the background with those snippets - I am just imagining the wonderful smell of the lavender now.... A very inspirational spread Tracey.

We are having more rain, thunder and lightening than usual but I am not complaining, anything is better than oppressive heat in my eyes! Enjoy the rest of your week. Hugs, Anne xx

Oh Tracey! You have turned your scraps into a most beautiful page! Thank you so much for joining us at Try It On Tuesday as well as it being a wonderful entry for Art Journal Journey! I'm sorry it's taken a while to get here - a huge backlog of stuff to do had me wanting to do some blog visiting but then had to wait for hubby to finish with the computer! Days I could do without, so it's really great to be reminded we could all do with days like these! Hope the weather has improved where you are - we had a deluge this afternoon and couldn't get out of the car until the water level had gone down bit!! Hugs, Chrisx
