Paperbabe Challenge ~ Flower/Garden

Happy Friday Creative Friends

It's Challenge time again over at Paperbabe Stamps
and what better way can there be than to start the creative
ball rolling by offering a Flowers/Garden theme Challenge.

Here's my Paperbabe DT creation and how it came to be...

Onto a plain cushion cover I scraped on fabric paint, mark
making by pushing those fabric paints through Paperbabe Stencils
Those pops of yellow remind me of bursts of springtime sunshine!

Stamping the Doll Face Stamps onto fabric gives strong
guide lines perfect for a little embroidery.

The large Peony taken from the Peony & Bud set has been stamped
onto rice paper and transferred onto the cushion cover using
a washable fabric glue and painted with fabric paints.

I made a Peony fabric brooch embellished with beads and lace.

Sewing the embroidered face onto the cushion I added two rice paper
Peonies to balance the design with the brooch taking centre stage.

A flower border embroidered at the bottom helps to ground her,
completing my Paperbabe mixed media Springtime cushion.

We'd love you to share your Flower/Garden designs over HERE,
Pop on over there's a Paperbabe prize to be won
for one lucky participant.

Wishing you all a wonderful day.
Creative Hugs
 Tracey xx

It's interesting to see what you've created this week - sewing is enough for me :) I don't have imagination to make covers like this...

Your Springtime Cushion is breathtakingly beautiful, Tracey. You are such a talent artist to create this kind of treasures.
Thank you for your kind comment on my site.

Wow, Tracey! This is incredible. I can't believe how much work you put into it and how creative you are...the colours are gorgeous and the details are simply stunning. I'd love to see this IRL and to 'feel' all that texture and painty goodness! You're tempting me to get my Fabric paints out and that's something I haven't done for around 10 years! Beautiful.
I'm so pleased you shared this with us at Try it on Tuesday - and even more pleased that it's one of my allotted numbers to comment on, lol - though I'd have wandered over anyway, as soon as your blog update appeared on mine ;-) I also confess I've never come across Paper Babe stamps - off to check them out...

An absolutely stunning cover for the cushion. The detailed embroidery is lovey and really draws the eye to look closer. I will be able to get a closer look when I get home and using the big computer, my old lap top is very basic.
Have a great weekend.
