A Stitch in Time ~ It's a Challenge

It's time for a brand new blog challenge over at That's Crafty
The theme this month is *A Stitch in Time* and we are asking you
to share your faux or real stitch creations.

Here's what I got up too..

I first started with a piece of  wet organic cotton calico, laying
the stencil on top and painting multi surface paint through it.

When dry I doodled around the outline of the flowers with a
fine liner pen. Stabilised the fabric by gluing it onto a piece of card
and machine stitched around the edge.

A selection of buttons have been hand sewn for decoration and a couple for practicality.

Fabric dyed with multi surface paints has been used to back the inside with two extra pieces cut and sewn in along the central line to hold all those sewing accessories.

Keeping my fingers crossed that my measurements are correct it should fold together.

The larger of the buttons acts as a closure with a little piece of elastic
which hooks around it keeping it all safe and sound inside.

A handy pocket sized needle book holding a few extras.

If you'd like to share your ideas and creations with us there's a prize of £30
up for grabs for one lucky winner to spend in the That's Crafty online Store
and in addition to that a stencil prize for each of the chosen Top 3..

Pop on over and check out what the Design Team have created just for you in the

Wishing you Sunshine and Creativity

Ohh only now I see it is a needle fabric book- Tracey,- what a fantastic great idea- and so beautiful, with the stenciled flowers, (I`m using the same stencil, for my next blogpost :-) ) - The dyed fabrics, inside looks lovely with pinns, and all attached, and the idea of making the fabric wet before painting the flowers, is fantastic- YOU are a fantastic artist , Tracey .
I hope you have a lovely week, dear- Thank you so very much for your birthday greeting for my daughter , so sweet of you.

I didn't realise until I published this blog that people would probably wonder what was inside it hee hee! I always wash Calico as you never really know what it's been coated with even when they say it is natural, it's a habit I can not stop and as you know there's a chance it may shrink so it stops the worry if you work on it whilst wet, plus I like the movement you can achieve with a paint brush on wet fabric.. it feels so much more different.
I hope your Daughter had a super Birthday.. Hugs dear Dorthe xx
