That's Crafty Challenge ~ *Going Round in Circles*
Here's my dotty creation and how it came to be...
Using the Dot Mandala Stencil I've built up those layers using both Texture
and sand paste allowing each application to dry thoroughly before applying
the next, painting in white gesso when happy with the dimension.
and sand paste allowing each application to dry thoroughly before applying
the next, painting in white gesso when happy with the dimension.
Purple and pink paint is applied around the outer edge and sprayed with water.
More colour is added leaving some white space to stop the colours from mixing.
When dry more colour is added allowing the colours to dry before adding more.
Laying the stencil back over the structure can help with the precision
of your paints and really help you to play with those colours.
Shisha embroidered circle frames add to it's embellishment.
My Dot Mandala Hanging Plaque is complete.
If you'd like to share your ideas and creations with us there's a prize of £30
up for grabs for one lucky winner to spend in the That's Crafty online Store

This is totally gorgeous, love all the texture, it must have been a lot of effort, but well worth it. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteIt was one of those projects that you can do whilst doing other things, very stop and start allowing things to dry naturally. The hardest part is remembering not to place anything on top of it when it's been put to one side hee hee. Thank you Valerie x
DeleteOh Tracey, lovely lady, you really made those circles play here, wow. And I love the huge layer of paste you achieved, looks amazing with the paint in all the different colors, so beautiful done,- and with details of white dots on some "pearls" they shine. So sweet also with the frames, my friend.
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous and time taking art piece.
Warm hugs
Dorthe, xx
Thank you very much Dorthe, I love seeing how high I can take the pastes reminds me of building sand castles as a child hee hee! Great stencil to play with lots of those luscious Multi Surface paints too xx
