She Blooms...

Hello Creative Friends..

I'm sharing a play day today where I used *recently* new to me
Karin brushmarker Pro's discovered first within my monthly
Scrawlr box I've been slowly building up my colour collection.

The image is created using Jane Davenport stencils.

Scribbling the markers onto a non porous surface I simply sprayed those
scribbles with water, applying directly to the image with a paint brush.

I love how adding white gesso into the mix can change the opacity.

Even when applied onto the skin tone those delicate colours peep through.

and outlining with a fine liner really defines those stencilled lines.

With so much open white space on this A3 page it needed something
to bring it together without over powering the beauty of this image.

As these markers are also calligraphy pens I scrawled words, drew around
the edge of both script and image and used my favourite colour of the
moment *Curry* to pull out the colour using a drenched paint brush.

There's something quite rewarding about watching
watercolour expand and dance on an open page.

Bringing both white space and image together *She Blooms*

Thank you for sharing part of your day with me today...
Happy Friday everyone... the weekend awaits!

Wishing you all a wonderful one...

Creative Hugs
Tracey xx

Hi Tracey!
I see what you mean about the effect applying white gesso has... I really like the difference it makes, thank you for sharing that tip.
"She Blooms" is full of sweetness and I loved seeing the progressions and then how the full painting looked at the end. You make gorgeous visions, it's always lovely to see your art. Happy PPF :D) xx

Hi Tracey this is one of my favourite techniques. The effect of applying the colours with a paint brush is so much better than trying to apply them direct which just never works for me. The finished piece is glorious. The shadowing and the scrawled text finishes the whole thing off to perfection. Hope your weekend is just as perfect, Angela xXx

Tracey, she most definitely blooms, she has such a beautiful face, delicately coloured to perfection. The flowers are gorgeous too, I love her eyes and I love your handwritten words. A truly beautiful page.

So glad you had a good time at the NEC, I hope you got to see Tracy Evans who was demoing on Stampers Grove. I am so sad that I can't go this year. Hope you have a lovely weekend and are not too troubled by the expected high winds. Hugs, Anne xx

Well she certainly has a beautiful bloom as does the whole page. So creatively put together Tracey, and A3 - that’s a large space to fill, I’m very impressed. Wishing you a fabulous weekend, hoping the winds die down and the rain stops with some sunshine peeking through. Xxx

This is beautiful, Tracy. I love how how experiment with new tools and techniques. I used to be a bit like that, but nowadays I prefer to keep my tools to a minimum. It works for me, but you've given mt the notion to get my watercolours out again.

Just popping by for my weekly visit... Wow Tracey, stunning effects with those markers and mixing with gesso is such a cool idea! The end result look simply amazing, specially in your clever hands! The black outlining makes it all stand out brilliantly. Really, really love the way you have framed the face with the green also to fill the white space, such a cool effect and it really suits the whole bloom/flower theme. Wonderful work!! Happy Sunday!

Wow Tracey, this is beautiful. You obviously have a lot of talent and I love how you are using these new pens. What interested me was the use of Gesso with the colour - something I want to try out myself. Doubt I will reach your standard though.
Hugs, Neet xx
ps hope doggie and hubby are doing ok xx

this is VERY beautiful. Never heard or seen this kind of pencils. I think Sweden is a poor country when it comes to art material. :(
