#WOYWW 492

Happy WOYWW 492

A mid week catch up with creatives from far and wide
thanks to our lovely Julia over at the Stamping Ground.

Well my desk this week is not as productive as I had hoped,
I've spent most of my time looking for things I've mislaid
and finding things that i'd lost many moons ago.

Not helpful when I've been trying to get my Christmas Mojo cranked..

I appear to have brought lots of dies this year and I have to confess...
I really do NOT enjoy cutting them out..!!
A mammoth cutting spree last Sunday felt like an intense gym workout.

This area has remained redundant since then as I've hidden away with my pens
and pencils making the most of putting my feet up whilst Hubby is resting.
Winter must be on it's way as I feel hibernation is setting in.

Home visits and a pre-op appointment for Hubby this week
so I'll be round to visit asap...

Hugs to you all
Tracey xx

I feel like hibernating too but those Christmas cards won't make themselves... I've tried, ha ha. Hope the pre-op appointment goes well. helen #1

We die cut differently...I only do the odd one when I need it. I don’t cut loads and hold them in stock. Probably would forget where they were! Also of course, I’d run out of one before another and that would frustrate me more than the cutting does! Funny. I see you have a couple of cards hanging on the rotary storage..go you!

Happy WOYWW. I am finding that buying charity cards is a far more satisfactory way of getting ready for Christmas! Most of the crafters I see at workshops are not making cards now. Die cutting is too much hard work for me - even the electric ones are time consuming and fiddly (as well as expensive buying all the dies). Ali x #8

I know just what you mean about die cutting…. I was sent some dies and now I am cracking my brains as what to do with them...Good luck with your Christmas mojo and projects, I look forward to seeing them! Hope hubby continues to improve!!

I definitely don’t multi cut Die pieces. I cut as I need and do love dies. But not organising them!!

Sorry that it’s hibernating weather coming in. Been bit too warm here but do love our weather in Oz... would struggle to live in a really cold climate.
Thanks so much for your great desky share.

I am so with you on the die cutting Tracey, I do cut a few and then usually lose them or forget where I put them. Hubby suggested an inventory but that would likely take me 6 months to complete (sigh)... I can see three Christmas cards there so well done on making a start! Best wishes to your hubby, I hope each day sees and improvement - and good for you putting your feet up too! Hugs, Anne xx

I love dies, but sometimes it is all a bit of a bother! Good luck to your husband for his appointments. Have a good week and get plenty of rest, hugs, Valerie

You've just summed up why I'm not a card maker in earnest - all the cutting out, dies, embossing, i get bored with the process. Whereas I could faff around with fabric all day long :-D. Glad your hubby is doing ok, good to hear.

Hi Tracey, I've done a fair few cards with die cuts lately, I realised I don't use them enough. That lift is disgraceful, considering how much money the 02 generates! Worst bit is we have two more concerts there this week, one Friday, one Saturday, so keeping my fingers crossed! I was shocked by how badly they were coping with evacing the wheelchair users. Clearly little or no training, and that was in a non- emergency situation. Dread to think what would happen in an emergency.Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #5 XxX

I use dies all the time and always cut several when I first buy them, I also usually cut more than I need during projects and I keep the pre-cuts in A4 folders with pockets (the idea was courtesy of Shaz Silverwolf) - it works brilliantly, especially as I am a lazy crafter, I hate having to hunt for stuff!
Crafting is definitely an up side of long, dark winter evenings isn't it! Have a good week and I hope you get lots done,

Tracey I am sooooooo jealous.... you have something that I want...need.. love love love.... a tim holtz spin it carousel!!!!!... well.. to be honest.. I want one but not prepared to pay the daft price that I have seen it at, so will just have to have spin it envy til I find one at the right price!!!.. I am with you on the die cutting chore bit, and once upon a time I was always buying dies, now I seem to only buy paints!!! glad your hubby is on the mend luv. Thinking of you. Xxx

Hope hubby is improving as each day passes but i see you still have lots of appointments ahead with him. Here's hoping the results of these visits are good.
Not wishing you not to find things but good to know I am not the only one struggling. Maybe this Christmas will go by in a bit of a blur for both of us.
Hugs, Neet 10 xx

So there's your work station in all its glory! I don't believe I've seen it before. Looks fab! I know what you mean about the die cutting - I love buying dies too and trying them out, but I'm reluctant to use them beyond that LOL - so I'm just surviving on my test cuts most of the time LOL! I feel like hibernating too! Lucky I don't have work today - even putting away the groceries that the kind Tesco's man is bringing in a minute feels like a chore. Hope hubby is doing well and his operation goes smoothly. zsuzsa #23

I feel the hibernation coming as well. . .actually feels good! warm and cozy, reflecting on the year, looking forward to Christmas! I hope you get your Christmas mojo going! I don't have a lot of dies, just the very basics rectangles, circles etc. Never really went all out for them. Sometimes, with cleaning up, sorting things out etc, I suddenly get the urge or inspiration to create, hopefully that will happen to you as well! Have a wonderful week, Lindart #32

Hi Tracey, I've only bulk die cut some flowers recently. All other dies I tend to cut as and when needed. Thinking about it, maybe I could scan the dies and bulk cut them on the Scan & Cut. Hmm, something for the future. I hope all goes well with your hubby's appointments and operation, and that you are both getting over the shock of his heart attack. It took me and Mr M a long time after my cardiac arrest. Thanks for stopping by earlier, my enthusiasm comes in fits and starts. I make the most of it when my mojo is running high, long may it continue. Have a lovely week Heather x #7

Hi Tracey, I'm always searching for stuff so it's only right that you have to do the same Lol! What i tend to do with die cutting is to cut more than I need each time and store the spare bits in a folder with pockets so that I have them for those times when I can't be bothered or need something quick. Take care both of you. Hope you have a great week and a lovely woyww, Angela x15x

Dies are expensive and so are die cutters. You should be very proud of what you have. Of course, I was just impressed with the overall look of your new space. You have a lot of stuff in a very small area. I also like the poppy I saw, too. Happy Wednesday, Tracey, even though I am visiting on Thursday and not playing in WOYWW.

I'm with Jan on the cutting and faffing - give me some fabric or yarn and I'm happy. I have just got Maxine's message about your order so it should be in the post tomorrow. I hope you love it. xx Jo

It sounds as if you've had a somewhat frustrating week, Tracey, but I'm sure all that cutting will be worth it in the end! I find die-cutting quite tiring too but I love the results. I am glad your hubby is resting, but sorry to hear he's got to have surgery - is this to do with his recent heart attack? I hope and pray all will be well. Such a worrying time for you both.

Thank you for your visit, and I'm sorry for the delay in replying but it's been a busy few days lately. So glad you enjoyed seeing all the photos of us at the pet service, which was such a joyful occasion and so full of love as everyone proudly showed off their beloved furry family members! So great to have the yearly opportunity to give thanks for them as they are such a blessing. My hubby and I love Lily and Ruby more with each day that passes! I'm glad you liked my peacock feathers. I agree about meeting friends half-way when they live a long way off. The trouble is, we don't have as much time together as we'd like but it's better than nothing!

Happy belated WOYWW,

Hi Tracey, I think most crafters spend an inordinate time looking for 'missing' items - I know I do! Hope you found what you were looking for and that the Christmas mojo has made an appearance by now. Not keen on getting down the machine to cut out with my dies either but prefer to do them as needed rather than in bulk. Learnt from embossing a ton of lovely backgrounds ages ago - I'm only just getting round to using them now. Hope your hubby's pre-op went well. My husband has just been through same, had a pacemaker fitted and now waiting for another op. Such a worrying time. Apologies for being so late this week - all sorts of stuff going on.
