Paperbabe Challenge ~ #100 GOLD

Hello Creative Friends,

It's Paperbabe Stamps 100th Challenge
so this fortnights theme just had to be #GOLD

Pop on over and join our Challenge.

I've always been drawn to Gustav Klimt's GOLD period.
The opulence of his gold leaf application really draws me in.
When I first saw this Paperbabe Dinky Stamp I knew I had to
recreate a painting I had seen online a few years ago.
First led to believe it was an oil painting by the man himself
mixed messages online lead me to believe it is not..

Either way I am extremely thankful for the inspiration
and hope what I share will do the painting justice...

Here's what I did..

Stamping out the closed eye Female Dinky Stamp
I coloured half in paint and pencil measuring out a
2" x 2" square.. yes this will be a Twinchie.

Applying gold flakes down one side of the face I painted
the opposite side in black then sketched in her hair.

Embossing the Iso Fun Stencil onto gold card
I created a frame to sit around the Twinchie.

Adding those final gold flake touches for her tears
I positioned the Twinchie in the embossed frame.
I forgot just how hard it is to photograph something
behind glass but I have to admit this frame really
compliments this whole Gold design.

here's a close up..

Whether it's original name is *Golden Tears/Freya's Tears*
or if the original is by Gustav Klimt if anyone knows more
please enlighten me.. i'd really love to know.

Hope you will share your GOLD creations and join in

Wishing you all well & sending
Creative Hugs your way

Paperbabe Stamps ~ Sketch Challenge #93

Happy Friday Creative Friends,

There's a new challenge theme over at Paperbabe Stamps
and this fortnight we give you a sketch prompt.

*Use the Herringbone image to create a background,
the tag maybe your focal, the "Paperbabe stamps" word can
represent any sentiment and the flower any embellishment...
it really is that simple.

Play and create, flip it, turn it and be inspired by it.
You do not have to use Paperbabe Stamps to play along...

Here's what I've created and how it came to be...

Onto an A4 journal page, a background was created playing with the
chequerboard stencil to add flat and dimensional texture alongside
left over book pages, paper snippets, washi and loose threads.

All calmed down with a few brush strokes of white gesso...

Shading with pencil around the aperture within the book page I stamped
the comfort Zone sentiment onto deli paper and applied to the page.

Creating a Female face using the Paperbabe mini head and torso
template and mini female face stamps I scribbled in her hair.

Cutting the face out with a Tag die, the colouring begins
using alcohol markers and a selection of pencils.

Embellishing the tag with left overs, lace and paperbabe
hand painted media blanks I arranged them to flutter around her.

I love how those wings in the background appear to belong to her.

There's plenty more to see over HERE from the Paperbabe DT
pop on over and join the Sketch Challenge Fun.

A moment away from the weekend lets hope it's a creative one!

Take Care everyone
Hugs Tracey xx

Paperbabe Challenge ~ Flower/Garden

Happy Friday Creative Friends

It's Challenge time again over at Paperbabe Stamps
and what better way can there be than to start the creative
ball rolling by offering a Flowers/Garden theme Challenge.

Here's my Paperbabe DT creation and how it came to be...

Onto a plain cushion cover I scraped on fabric paint, mark
making by pushing those fabric paints through Paperbabe Stencils
Those pops of yellow remind me of bursts of springtime sunshine!

Stamping the Doll Face Stamps onto fabric gives strong
guide lines perfect for a little embroidery.

The large Peony taken from the Peony & Bud set has been stamped
onto rice paper and transferred onto the cushion cover using
a washable fabric glue and painted with fabric paints.

I made a Peony fabric brooch embellished with beads and lace.

Sewing the embroidered face onto the cushion I added two rice paper
Peonies to balance the design with the brooch taking centre stage.

A flower border embroidered at the bottom helps to ground her,
completing my Paperbabe mixed media Springtime cushion.

We'd love you to share your Flower/Garden designs over HERE,
Pop on over there's a Paperbabe prize to be won
for one lucky participant.

Wishing you all a wonderful day.

Paperbabe Stamps ~ #88 Anything Goes

Hello Everyone,

There's a new challenge over at Paperbabe Stamps
with this fortnights theme being Anything Goes.

Today i'm sharing my Alternative Angel
along with some very basic How to Do's...

Stamping directly onto the substrate using the matching Paperangel stamps
I've coloured and shaded the figure and wings with pencils then embossed
stamped cogs and gears from the Like Clockwork stamp set.

With each Paperangel kit you get two Angels both different in design,
with papers to decorate but I've chose to save the papers for another day.

Gemstone and brads adorn those embossed cogs and gears

with glittered wings and enamelled heart..

She delicately hangs using an attachment included within kit2.

Gently sharing her love with every visitor.

No matter the season we all need an angel to watch
over us and share the love don't you agree..?

Please pop on over HERE and see what Kim and the Team have created.
If you choose to share your creativity there's a prize for one lucky creative.

Thank you for sharing a moment of your day with me,
Wishing you all the best and take good care of yourselves.

Creative Hugs
