Creative Artiste ~ Anything Mixed Media Goes #121

 Hello Creatives

It's the first Friday of a new month so time for a new challenge
@ Creative Artiste.. our challenge #121 is almost always...

Anything Mixed Media Goes

I discovered this magnificent sculpture last year whilst dog walking
in a quiet corner of Worcester which led me to discover more wonders
designed by artist Victoria Harrison and her living mosaics.

As November is a month of remembrance and reflection
I was inspired to create my journal page.

A paint scraped background embellished with desk whatnots and wool,
script is stamped and embossed to add extra background interest.
The poppy is fashioned from scrap paper each petal
given a mosaic design using paint, pens and scrap fabrics.

The poppy centre is a large domed button surrounded by glittery bits.
Finishing with a smudge of glitter glue and edged with paper clips
keeping everything uniform and together..

The single word BRAVE speaks for itself..

Please do share your own mixed media creations with the team

Wishing you all a happy, creative
and reflective month ahead

Creative Artiste December Challenge ~ #78 Anything Mixed Media

Hello Creative Friends

our theme is ALWAYS *Anything Mixed Media Goes*

This month i'm sharing a Festive pocket Journal

Created using cardboard packaging, wrapped and edged with lace,
with a salvaged holly sprig cake decoration, felt die cut poinsettia
embellished with seed beads, bow and button all handstitched in place.

Inside it holds gift and card lists, December reminders and to-do's
and has been invaluable keeping me focused in the run up to Christmas.

Creative Artiste November Challenge ~ #77 Anything Mixed Media Goes

 Hello Creative Friends

Time to welcome you all again to
our theme is ALWAYS *Anything Mixed Media Goes*

This month I share another of my quirky handmade pots
inspired again by Toni Burt and her amazing pottery skills.

Created using an empty glass pudding pot and metal lid destined
for the recycle bin. I moulded clay around the glass pot and lid.

Leaving space for a magnetic die brush to sit, decorated with rice paper,
making marks into the clay. Sadly during the drying process the clay split
leaving a large crack in the outer clay. Continuing to paint up with black
acrylic, dry brushing with antique silver and a protective varnish coating.

I chose to make a feature of that crack adding a fashioned paper buckle,
hardware to compliment the brads with its rice paper and colour combo.

I'm really pleased with this little pot,
it's proving very handy in my workspace.

If you have a love for mixed media and use more than
three mediums in your creations please come and share your
mixed media creations with the Creative Artiste team HERE..

Wishing you all a safe and creative month ahead.

Creative Artiste's *May Mixed Media* Challenge #71

Hello Creative Friends,

First Friday of the month so time to welcome
our theme is always *Anything Mixed Media Goes*

Today i'm bringing past things into the present...

This ATC is the last of a bunch made for gifts in 2020.
Created by stamping the Lily onto MDF the image was traced
using liner pen, painted with distress paint then covered with
UTEE and heat embossed several times to create a tile effect.

Making use of a broken picture frame onto it's backboard texture paste
is pushed through a stencil then painted in colours similar to the ATC.

Distress ink is painted through the same stencil onto the inner mount
with it's aperture painted and edged with tarnished brass.

The outer frame is painted in petrol blue with corner fastenings
attached to help strengthen the frame with it's missing glass.

Reassembled the ATC becomes the main focal with offcuts of lace
glued into every corner to compliment the finished redesign.

I love the vibrant colours of this mixed media frame..
Such a cheerful creation.

If you like to mix up your media, do share your creations
with the Creative Design Team and join in with our
