Paperbabe SKETCH Challenge ~ #83

Hello Creative Friends,

Use it's shape to inspire you and the image to represent your design.
Mix it up, be creative, it's really up to you how you interpret it.

Time has been very limited for me this week so I set myself a
personal challenge to see what I could come up with in 1 hour.

Here's what I got up to and those simple *How to Do's*

Using the leaf and conkers from the Completely Conkers stamp set,
Distress Oxides were my choice of ink to stamp onto both Kraft and white card.

Onto an A6 card I stamped one of my favourite stamps from the
Spritz & Speckle set along with the completely Conkers sentiment.

5 leaves and 5 conkers were fussy cut and teased into shape ready to assemble.

Glued down using 3D Gel my CAS card is complete.

It's really that simple ..

Hope you can find a moment to pop on over HERE and join in with the challenge.
There's a prize for one lucky random winner.

Wishing you all a fabulous weekend.

#WOYWW 486

Hello Creative Friends

Happy WOYWW 486 a place each Wednesday we share whats on
our work desk and visit other creative work spaces giving Thanks
to our host Julia over at her stamping ground.

First here's that Kitchen 95% finished...

Flooring down & those Kitchen essentials slowly being put back in place.
You may or may not be able to see my dog camouflaged against the floor
waiting for her breakfast and making the most of that floor space
before the kitchen table goes back in.

This was the Creative Corner on Sunday.

As I unpacked those needful things butterfingers had a mishap with an
ink storage unit and watched it fall in slow motion helpless to save it.
Now in pieces it's a jigsaw no one wants to put back together
so i'm waiting on a replacement to arrive.

Here's what I got up to with one of those leaves last week.
It's HERE if you want to take a closer look.

Those berries I picked up from my lawn, such a deep orange colour.
Maybe dropped from a butter beaked bird with eyes too big for it's belly.

Look forward to seeing WOYWW this week.
I'll be round to visit when my care duties are
complete and time is my own.

Take Care everyone

Hello Autumn

Hello Creative Friends,

Can you believe we are on the brink of Autumn.
Already the leaves have started to change colour and fall.

Here's a little Autumnal creation created during a much needed play day.

I found this wide rimmed wooden frame in a charity shop, painted in gesso
and applied sand paste through AALL & Create stencils.
Embellished with a strip of tapestry canvas & parts of a plywood frame
I then painted it all in gesso again.

Found leaves have been glued onto a recycled envelope to
hold their shape and to stop them from drying out so quickly.

Filling in the gaps of the frame with art stones a third coat of gesso is applied

Drops of alcohol inks are spritzed with water and white gesso
used to knock back the brightness of the colour.

Stamping a versamark embossing ink pad onto the leave and embossing
with clear embossing powder help to preserve those beautiful leaves.

Time to start layering those natural elements.
I chose to use just one of the leaves and team it up with some fallen twigs,
Added a whimsical word from Paperbabe stamps, a dot and dab of
liquitex gold ink and a flick of white paint.

My Autumnal box frame is complete.

I do love the warmth of colour that Autumn gives.

Thank you for sharing your time.
Wishing you all a super weekend.

#WOYWW 485

Happy #WOYWW 485 Crafty Peepers.

It's that time of the week where we share our desks and catch up
with everyone else's thanks to Julia over at the Stamping Ground.

Well it's all systems go again with the kitchen refit. Fingers crossed it
WILL soon be finished and normality can seep back into my world.

This was taken yesterday as I knew the light would be pants early morn.

My creative corner may soon be back in action!

So here's what's on my work space today.. Paint..!!
I'm giving those butcher's trolleys a little face lift.

Autumnal leaves were dancing outside my door this morning.
Need to make good use of them before they get too crispy

Have a great week everyone & Happy WOYWW
I'll be round to visit during Coffee breaks.

Shroom Town Book Cover ~ #That's Crafty!

Hello Creative Friends.
I hope you are all enjoying a relaxing Sunday?

I'm here today to share the finished project of last Mondays sneak peek using
*NEW* That's Crafty products showcased on Hochanda last Tuesday.

Here's those *How to Do's* and how it came to be..

Taking a large greyboard surface I covered with
deli paper, lace and then spritzed with Lime Lustre Spray.

Using those lace shapes as a guide I painted a scene
using a mixture of multi surface and interference paints.

The texture from the lace and deli paper holds onto the shimmer
and the lustre from the spray soon finds it's way to the surface, although
as you know it is hard to capture those sparkles when photographing.

I traced around the greyboard shape onto an
unused exercise book and cut to the same size.

Stamping the Shroom houses directly onto the matching white/greyboard shapes,
I stamped the trees onto stamping card and coloured with distress markers.

Gluing the greyboard shape onto the exercise book cover,
I first layered the trees then the houses to create that little town scene.

The greyboard tag makes a very robust book cover.

Triple embossing the houses with clear embossing powder
really brought those sweet little Shroom Houses to life..

Lot's of lovely little accent stamps included in the Shroom House set.

The possibilities really are endless when you create your own
books and if I had had more time I really would have gone to town
(no pun intended) inside this little creation.

Complete Shroom Town Book Cover...

Thank you as always for sharing your time today.
Wishing you all a wonderful day.

Paperbabe Challenge #82 ~ THEME *STARS*

Hello Creative Friends

It's Friday and time for another Paperbabe Challenge.
This fortnight the theme is *STARS* we'd love you to share
your *STAR* creations over HERE on the Paperbabe Stamps blog.

There's a prize for one Lucky random winner so pop on over,
read those rules and see what the Team have created just for you.

Here's my take on the Theme *STARS*

On to an A3 Journal page I traced around the Standard Torso and Fairy Wings
templates, lay down lots of colourful Neocolor II's and spritzed with water
to help those colours mix, move and merge around the page.

The Head template was traced, features stamped, coloured and cut out.
The Curly Hair and fringe template has also been traced separately
ready to be fussy cut.

Stamping the Doodle *STARS* onto the background I rubbed crystal stickles glitter glue
over the page with my finger to add some sparkle. I then used the Curly Fringe Hair
template to manipulate exactly where I wanted the hair to be before tracing around.

Those traced areas of hair behind the face were painted with white Gesso
and a hairline drawn onto the face making it easier to position those hair strands.

With those hair strands cut out and glued into place
the pointy ear is lifted up peeping out from the hair.

Paper napkins have been collaged to the base of the page with
extra's backed onto card and layered on top to add dimension.

Drawing in those finer details of my Fantasy Fairy using Neocolor II's,
a fussy cut crown (included in the Fairy Wings template) along with
beaded string adds that final detail.

I really enjoyed losing myself creating this piece and with limited craft supplies
at the moment due to a little home improvement it really does set those
creative cogs in motion.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend ahead
and Thank you so much for visiting.

#WOYWW 484

Happy Wednesday Everyone

It's time to share WOYWW
as Julia generously hosts over at the stamping ground
as we show what's on ours and take a peep at everyone else's.

Well the kitchen refit has ground to a halt so i'm closing the
door on this one today for fear of getting a little grouchy..!

The area you see the cooker & washing machine in is my tiny creative corner.
Over the past week there's been lots of mind mapping going on as I play
Tetris trying to visually squeeze in those essential creative tools.

So no creative sharing for me today but I can show you what
was inside some of those unopened parcels from last week.

Bargains from Art from the Heart along with the
irresistible "Glances" wood mounted stamps from Jane Davenport..
Think I will just smell & stroke them for a while before inking.. Haa haa!

More delightful stamps sets that i'm itching to play with
and finally a Craft Stamper Magazine blog challenge prize
I was so lucky to be randomly picked as a winner "Thank you Trish"

Looking forward to seeing what that Alcohol lift ink and pad can do.
Just need to find which box those alcohol inks are packed away in..

I can not wait to seeing what you have all been up too and hope to see
pictures of last Saturday's Crop from those of you lucky enough to attend.

If I didn't get round to visiting you all please feel free to shout at me,
With Kitchen Chaos, boxes which seem to be breeding
and nursing an end of summer cold it's been a difficult week to
juggle alongside my duties and everyday workload.

Mermaid Dreams

Happy Friday Everyone

I found a moment to play with a new Spellbinders Stencil
designed by Jane Davenport purchased from That's Crafty.

Jane always reminds me of Mermaids this was the perfect
opportunity to take part in Art Journal Journey hosted by
dear Yvonne this month with her chosen theme of *A World of Fantasy*

This journal page has been created using watercolour pencils and gesso.
The stencil gives all those important lines needed to create a portrait.

Sketching in a Mermaid's tail I also used another of Jane's
stencils to doodle some shapes around the page.

Pieces of collage tissue paper are glued with matt medium,
the colours matched perfect with the background colour.

Gesso dabbed on with tissue and used to highlight areas of the shapes,
handwritten words Mermaid Dreams have been added to the page.

As a child I would dream of Mermaids, I believe it may have been because of the
holidays each year spent in Devon exploring secluded beaches like Ness Cove which
could only be accessed through what the locals would call a smugglers tunnel.
I always hoped I would catch a glimpse of a mermaid on the other side.

It's as if this mermaid is taking a selfie hee hee!!

Wishing you all a super weekend.

Looking forward to having some free time
and seeing what you have all been up too.

Take Care & Stay Safe

WOYWW #483

As Wednesday gently rolls in again its time to share
WOYWW thanks to Julia over at the stamping ground.

Those that visited last week will remember i'm in a
pickle this week due to a much needed kitchen face lift.

This was me catching a moment on Monday evening making sure
I knew exactly where the things I needed to work with were, so I could
escape into the garden with the dog when the work was due to start on Tuesday.

The weather man promised us sunshine on Tuesday...

Tuesday Morning arrived along with torrential rain..
No creative play time in the garden for me!!
With everything ready and waiting to be ripped out.
i'll be sad to see that puppy chewed corner unit go..

After a whole lot of noise in which the dog and myself endured
for most of the day due to the rain.. Thanks Mr Weather Man.
Those ghastly units have gone... awaiting new units today Yay!!!

Hope to have something much more creative to share with you next week.
I have a pile of unopened parcels waiting to be opened but i'm saving them
until the weekend, i'll surely lose what ever is inside them if I open them now.

Off to set up in the garden now the light is coming up
and then get the kettle on and wait for the chippy to arrive.
Look forward to visiting everyone this week as 'i'm sure
I missed a handful of you out last week sadly.
