Hello Creative friends
Welcome to May and a new Challenge #126 @
My DT project is an ode to Vincent Van Gogh and my
own take on one of his Iris paintings from May 1889.
His own painting ABOVE speaks volumes to me,
a timeless interpretation of life and situations..
Dismissing all the blue/purple Irises I focused on
the stand alone single white in my art journal..
On a stencilled background scraped with paint the Iris is stamped
multiple times, cut and layered for dimension, painted with white
gesso and given a glittery beard it's stem and leaves are made from
old packaging, painted, coloured, cut and fashioned into shape.
Laid upon old (on the turn) coloured texture paste,
I added twisted beaded wire to ground the Iris..
Edged with stitch, washi and a strip of hand dyed
lace, gold paint lightly tickles those raised areas..
I hope we @ Creative Artiste can inspire you to share YOUR
Mixed Media Creations.. there's plenty more to see HERE..
Come share your own creativity in our May Challenge
Take care everyone
Stay Safe & Creative

Absolutely beautiful, such great texture and details! Thanks so much for sharing at the Four Seasons challenge!
Your single Iris is just gorgeous Tracey. Sometimes one image says more than a lot of images. I love the glittery beard you gave the flower too. It add super texture. And as always, you use such amazing texture including the bits of cloth, thread and the paste texture too. And happy May to you also. I hope you have a fantastic month ahead. hugs-Erika
This is absolutely stunning. I love the background you created with the greens and stencils. I also love the lavender and your amazing stitches. But the single white iris is the incredible star of the show. Your use of various techniques to mold it into the perfect flower shows your great artistic work. This entire entry is a gem.
WOW:-) Irises are my fav flower but all the extra details and luxurious textures are beautiful x
oh wow! This is absolutely gorgeous, so many details.
Irises are my favourite flower and I focused on the white one straight away as I have a patch of white ones in the garden. Fabulous journal page, I love the beautiful white Iris, all the texture and how you made the leaves-brilliant.

Lpve your take on the Van Gogh!
Love that you focused on a single iris, Tracey! Makes me appreciate its beauty that much more. The flower itself is so lovely, and the accompanying embellishments make it even more so. Happy May! Anita xx
Your art piece took my breath. It is absolutely stunning. Your use of color brings the eye in and out of your art. The single white Iris pops right off the page. The red at the bottom in contrast with the green is brilliant. Simply a stunning piece. Oh I said that already. Well here it is again Stunning!
WOW ... so artistic and beautiful! Awesome job! Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Four Seasons challenge! Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back often.
