Beautiful Butterfly and Blooms..

Hello everyone,

a quick journal post from me making use of tissue scraps.

The cold spell this Spring gave a late start to some tree's
blossoming but what a beautiful sight to see the Butterflies
enjoying their blossom alongside the summertime blooms..

Over painted with acrylics & blended with Summer Sky fresco
I couldn't resist stitching these tissue words into the page,
they sit like a missing part of the jigsaw..

Take good care everyone

Stay safe and Creative

Creative Artiste's Mixed Media Challenge #70

Hello Creative Friends,

It's the first Friday of a new month so time for me
our theme is always *Anything Mixed Media Goes*

This month i'm sharing a hand sculpted clay pot
I call her *My Year in Dungaree's* 😊

Behind the scene's i've been working with lots of clay this year.
Thought i'd share this piece inspired by Toni Burt. One piece of
air dry clay sculpted into shape it was important to make it's
shape as organic as I could to resemble my worn out dungaree's.

Adding stumpy feet to the base, mark making seams and creases
she was left to dry for days before sealing and painting.

The blues in this treasured napkin gifted to me by my friend Dorthe
really complimented it's design. Sealed again with matt gel medium
she was ready for some extra embellishing.

Lined with gilding flakes she wears TH hardware
and a fashioned Jeans button crafted from clay..

I'm not sure if this little video will work but
if it does it will give you a 360 view and show
areas hard to photograph like her saggy bottom 😂

Filled with treats she's a good craft table companion.

If you like to mix up you media why not share your creations
with the Creative Design Team HERE and join in with our

Look forward to seeing your Mixed Media Makes..

Stay safe & Creative

What's on your workdesk? Wednesday #528

Hello Creative Friends,

It's midweek meet up time again.. yup it came around that fast!
Another Wednesday where we share What's on (y)our Workdesks..

I'm sure it's WoywW #528??

Well my creative workspace is virtually untouched.
Shoshi wondered what the wooden block tied with string
was all about on last weeks desk, well this week it's multiplied.

I came across an ice-cream tub full of them during my clear out,
I made these must be 15 or more years ago for a pre-school group
using spindle spacers and string. Mark making tools for little hands
they are well loved as was the glitter that's stuck to them solid.

I must give them a soak and see if they still work..
Something else to add to my weekend To-do list ..

I've had a fabulous week, full of family time starting with Lunch out
last Wednesday with Mom. Family get together's over the weekend
followed by my sweet Daughter's 21st Birthday yesterday...😊

Here's the card I made for her

Sadly this photograph was taken on a very dreary day so here's a
close up. Love that rainbow of colour given from the D'OX's.
I'm sharing this with the ladies over at Try it on Tuesday
and joining in with their ~ Colours of the Rainbow Challenge.

I can also share this with you today..
Another make for my Daughter's Birthday.

A Gift card created using my latest favourite stamp
distressed wallpaper by Andy Skinner, how lovely is that print..!

The gift card is held closed with organza ribbon and a pin stamped
with 21 embellished with a single wrapped opaque red ruby.

Inside the gift card holds a handmade keyring. A bronze wire wrapped cabochon
bearing her star sign Cancer decorated with an elaborate ruby birthstone tassel.
I'm pleased to say my little precious loved it..

I'm sharing today with A Vintage Journey ~ Precious Metal Challenge.

I've some errands to run today so scheduling this post early.
After all the fine food and cake this past week I'm in need of the exercise.

Look forward to catching up with you all.

Take care everyone

August Tag.. Thank you *SEW* much ..

Hello creative Friends, today i'm sharing Augusts Tag using those 12 weeks of prompts.
Tag No:8 oh gosh not many more left before I complete my personal challenge
of creating a different one each month using those very same prompts.

This post is a scheduled one as I will be away and probably not have much time
when I return to create or post before September sneaks in.

This tag is created using some goodies I received from Chris recently from a
swap challenge and I thought they would work hand in hand with this project
alongside Chris' words of wisdom.

Here in words and pictures is my August*
Thank you *SEW* much tag.

Using an MDF Tag from Chris I first painted in white Gesso, then a coating of Leather Corset from Indigoblu and finally dry brushed on Warm Tan from left to right. When dry I pushed clear modelling paste through a stencil leaving the Handmade script visible.

Strips of Paperartsy lace stamped onto tissue paper have been added as collage
across the bottom and top with a coating of matt medium.

The whole tag has been coated in a layer of watered down Antique Gold Shimmer and flicks of multi surface white paint flicked on top. Onyx black has been blended through
a quilt stencil to give effect and the whole tag coated in a layer of clear Gesso
.
The orange mark is where I scorched it trying to dry it quickly..

Around the edges of the tag I stamped a stitch effect then stamped the dressmakers Manikin that was another gift from Chris onto tissue paper, tore around the edges and adhered using matt medium.

Now it's time to play by adding those doodles and embellishments.

White Posca pen helps highlight areas. buttons and pins add to it's theme and
a touch of gilding wax across the Handmade word brings it to life.

All tied up with a piece of Antique ribbon, Paperartsy words learn to sew
have been stamped onto tissue and adhered, giving a thought for the day.

My Thank you *SEW* much August Tag is complete.

This has now been turned into a fridge magnet.

Thank you for taking time to pop on over.
Have a fabulous weekend everyone, i'll catch up with your posts and creativity on my return and look forward to sharing more of mine with you all very very soon.

Paperartsy Cards.. Quick and Easy.

Hello everyone, thank you for dropping by today.
I've been making lots of cards recently topping up my handmade card stash as it had began to dwindle lately. These are a selection using Distress Oxide mop up backgrounds and PaperArtsy Stamps.

Here are my very quick and easy *how to do's*...
in small words and lots of pictures.

Using Distress Oxide created backgrounds PaperArtsy Stamps
Designed by Kay Carley have been used to create the cards design.

Coloured using wink of stella brush pens, some have been edged with stitching.

Others have been given a dot or two of stickles glitter glue
and a sentiment also from the stamp set.

This sentiment is from another PaperArtsy set. I made a mistake stamping this
and had to go over it with a fine liner but I don't think it's too noticeable.

I find this one rather innocent looking, maybe ideal for a child
or Teenager. What do you think ?

This one is my favourite of the four, not sure why but I chose not to put a sentiment on it as it may not stay in the card pile for very long as I think it would look great framed.

I have used this super stamp set so much recently as it gives quick results.
I hope you enjoyed my quick made cards too??

Take care, Stay Safe & have a wonderful weekend everyone.

Fresco style album page

Only one post from me this week as it's been a busy one & I've been blessed with the dreaded Lurgy so full of coughs, sneezes and wheezes so apologies in advance for any typo's or incorrect links as it's quite difficult to type and sneeze at the same time.
Thought I'd share my latest  Journal cover using PaperArtsy and Rubber Dance Stamps.

The style I was aiming for was Flaking Fresco, like ancient mural plaster painting.
By applying Coral Rose and English Rose acrylic randomly over a coat of white gesso this is dried with a heat tool until tacky dry. A coating of Calypso Teal covers it all and dried using a heat tool again. When dry I rubbed over areas of the journal board with a wet wipe exposing the colours underneath. .. which does resemble flaking Fresco.!

For the front focal piece I decorated a Tando substrate in the same way as the chip board album page using Coral Rose, Tangerine Dream and Calypso Teal. I stamped a PaperArtsy Zinski image and Rubber Dance texture stamps around the main image.

Doodling with Posca Pens and embellishments finish off the substrate when glued to the front page. I'm not sure if this is finished yet I may add a few words or a title, but for now I'm putting my pens and paint down. I'm hoping to fill this with lots more Fresco style pages.

I'd like to enter this page into the Orange, Red and Rose Rubber Dance Colour Challenge

Wishing you all a Happy, Healthy lurgy free weekend..

Hugs Tracey xx

Extra Large Mixed Media Blue & Ochre Tag..

The current colour scheme of the PaperArtsy Challenge is so Alluring, I was inspired from the onset by Chris Cresswell and her Art Journal spread. With the element of surprise behind the doors and Chris's attention to detail; something close to my heART.. I just had to create something using those given colours of Blue and Ochre.

Here in words and pictures is my creation...

For my surface I used an Extra Large Tag (147mm x 296mm) by Dali Art.
I squeezed a blob of Midnight Blue, Indian Turquoise, True Ochre and Yellow Ochre Americana Acrylic paint randomly onto it. The paint was spread over the surface from side to side with a piece of card and marks made into the paint using a comb to create some texture.

IndigoBlu Super Thick Slapiton was pushed through a Dina Wakley Stencil.

I Stamped Kim Dellow EKD06 stamps with versafine and coloured with pencils and illustrator Pens, some of the flowers I cut, shaped and layered to change their dimension.
I chose a selection of lace, ribbon and Sari border to coordinate with the colour way and used Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Fossilized Amber to tone down the whiteness of the lace.

After the Lace, Ribbon and Sari border had been adhered to the tag I used *Deep Blue and Sicilian Yellow Inktense pencils to add light and shade to areas of the tag adding water over the pencil areas to make the ink permanent.

Flat back pearls, micro beads and wire all add to the detail.

With Glossy accents and white  Posca Pen helping to highlight the finer details
my mixed media tag is complete.

I've really enjoyed gathering colour coordinating materials and piecing together this mixed media Tag . I hope you like my creation and entry into The PaperArtsy Colour Challenge Topic 5: Blue and Ochre

Wishing you a wonderful day what ever you are up too..

March Tag.. Spring is in the air.

As some of you may know each month I have been creating a Tag using the same
prompts/instructions given in a 12 week Tag challenge last year...
It's a *Personal* Challenge I have set myself....Here is my March creation

1:Tando Long Tag Covered with White Gesso then  layer of paint Dylusions Lemon Zest,
2: A Layer of Blue Sky Acrylic, applied with a sponge to mark make.
3: Modelling paste pushed through a leaf design stencil (not too sure who its made by)

5: A layer of Diluted Lemon Meringue Acrylic paint covers the tag.
6: Dylusions Chopped Pesto dripped down the side of the tag.
7: DecoArt Textured Sand paste pushed through a flower design stencil.

8:Coated the whole tag in clear Gesso
9: Stamped Foliage from PaperArtsy Eclectica EKD06 by Kim Dellow..
(Thank you James I love my Mothers Day Stamps)
10: Used the Large Flower head from the set as my Focal image
coloured with pencils and layered for dimension.

11: Leaves have been coloured with wink of stella dark green,
Indentations highlighted with Inktense pencils and washed with water to fix them.
Gilding wax rubbed over any raised area.
