WOYWW 471

Hello everyone,

It's WOYWW 471 the day to share whats on our work desks with our host Julia
over at her Stamping Ground and checkout everyone else's work space.

I was not around to share what was on my work space last week as I was on my holidays.
A much needed break doing nothing but daydreaming.. the best thing to revive creativity!!

I did take a photograph of what was on my holiday work space for WOYWW470
this is what popped out of my travelling Art Case with a few WIP's hidden underneath.

This weeks WOYWW 471 is a little different as i'm now back home chasing my tail
trying to finish off some jewellery commissions.... those few days away seem an age away!

Like a magpie I collect jewellery of all kinds, some I deconstruct to recreate new pieces, use in mixed media or use in textile art but some I collect just because... Here's a close up of the box on the left with my latest find a collection of vintage hand beaded necklaces..

How could anyone want to get rid of these?
I've a few ideas already how to reinvent them..

Thank you for stopping by, i'll be around to visit asap.

Creative Hugs
Tracey xx

Oh Tracey, I have a love affair with palm trees. Too bad they don't grow here. I had one for awhile, but put it out too soon one year and it died. I was sick, since they only grow about an inch a year.

Those are some incredible beads and beaded necklaces. I agree they are simply too beautiful to let go. But you saved them at least. Happy WOYWW from #6.

I don't know where you went on holiday but that blue sky could have been in Wales as the weather's been so amazing this past few weeks - hope you enjoyed anyway. I love seeing all that old jewellery, you'll have to show us what you come up with. I think it takes a certain skill to see past what's already there and let the jewellery shine in another form!

Glad you enjoyed the holiday - love the photo and also of the crafting goodies you took with you. The jewellery looks exciting (wish I could do that ... perhaps one day). Thanks for sharing today - Hazel, WOYWW 472 xx

I can never resist old jewellery either, the more glittery the better! The turquoise stones are beautiful and I'm wondering if you'll be able to bring yourself to take that one apart - I don't think I could!! I hope you enjoy your new stash and get lots of ideas from it.
Hope you have a great week,

Sounds like you had a good relaxing break Tracey! I'm home from mine for a rest, after lots of vigorous mountain hikes :D
I collect old jewellery to deconstruct too, but not made much lately! Those pieces look fabulous!
Happy Wednesday,

Glad you managed to relax on your break Tracey because you certainly are busy now. I don't think I could bring myself to deconstructing some of that gorgeous old jewellery. Have a good week and good luck getting all the commissions finished. Sarah #16

Hope you had a good holiday - looks like you went overseas? Great that you were able to take some art supplies with you. Have fun with the jewellery making - although I imagine it can get a bit hectic when you're working to a deadline. Those are some stunning pieces there! Happy #471! zsuzsa #22

Hi Tracey, glad you had a nice refreshing holiday. I agree about the jewellery ... it's great to be able to deconstruct and reconstruct. I have some kit, in a box, on one of my shelves ... on my things to do when I get time or inspiration list! Well done to your mother in law, never too old to learn life saving skills! Thanks for stopping by earlier, and your kind words. Have a lovely week, Heather x #15

Hi Tracey that looks like a great place for a holiday and I can only see the trees Lol! Pleased to see I'm not the only one that has a travel bag full of crafting stuff, you never know when you might get the chance to do a bit of crafty stuff. Nice jewellery bits too. Thanks for the visit to mine and have a lovely woyww, Angela x18x

Well it certainly looks as if you had a great break Tracey! Loved the peep at your travelling art kit :o) Oh and I really like the idea of scribbling with the Neo 2s into a palette, how clever, never thought of that. As to your beads, - I had no idea you made jewellery too, - you are a lady of many talents!! Those necklaces look amazing!!!

I know you are into making jewellery but look up Michel Negrin (think I have it right) for some peeks at some lovely things she makes. I bought a ring and some ear rings from the shop in Amsterdam and a hoping for something else this weekend when I visit again. The shop front is wonderful. I think it will be 'right up your street'.
If I have read it right your travelling art box is quite big, do I take it it is for use when travelling by car?
Hugs and enjoy your creating, Neet 4 xx (and thanks for the visit to me when I was otherwise occupied with visitors yesterday)

Happy Belated WOYWW. I always love a holiday that includes blue sky and palm trees. I seem to be collecting a few pieces of jewellery and other bits to use in junk journals - but not made one yet! Ali x #11
