A little piece of January..

Good Tuesday everyone,

As January is near to closing it's door i'd like to share one of my *very own* with you..

This is a BIG step for me as my personal drawings I do not share on here.
It's a brave step for me but I feel now is the right time to make that artistic step.

This is my little piece of January..

In a A3 watercolour sketch book I've pencil drawn features, added colour with
water soluble pencils and activated with water. Continuing to build up the base by
laying down more pencil to achieve a skin tone I was happy with.

.. and the next steps are where I loose myself spending hours
with water resistant pencil, intensifying colour, building up shadow
and adding in detail. I love how the Luminance pencil blends seamlessly.

.. and here she is in full.
I'm not sure if she is completely finished yet as I often go back
and add more but for the moment I am happy enough to share..

I sketch and doodle all the time, it's something I have done since infancy
and decades before it became popularised as a mindful activity!
I know it helps me to focus and problem solve but the main thing is
it's the one thing that helps me to switch off..!

I think we all need a little bit of that once in a while.. don't you?

Now it's time to take a deep breath, take those BIG steps and press publish..!

Wishing you a wonderful day..

Creative Hugs
Tracey xx

Dear Tracey, absolutely no need to hide ,-- you are a master , and this gal, is so very beautiful both drawn, and colored. I don`t know how you do it, but her shadings are so wonderful, giving light and shadow to her pretty face, and her eyes are amazing.
I really hope you will go on showing your art, dear friend.
Warm hugs from Dorthe , xx

Oh yes I understand this fear very muchly. Tracey she is brilliant and beautiful. There is no need to hide your light any more stand up, shine bright and proud huni because she is very very good!
I will be asking you about the water resistant pencils and the hair as I struggle to get the texture of hair and the multiple layers of colour that hair is made up of. Very clever artist you are hun, it's amazing how many of us hide our doodles because of fear so know that you are not alone Karen xx

Thank you for your sweet words Karen, i'm so glad you like my little piece of January. I know I am not the only one who struggles to show personal artwork, it's so much easier to put a post up of something created with the foundations of others, they have always been my comfort blanket.
You can ask me anything as you must know and see by now from my blogs that I am more than happy to show how my creations came to be. It has been a long journey of trial and error but i'm happy with the mediums I work with, but we all have our ways and favourites xx

Tracey she's stunning! The way you've shaded her hair is amazing. I can imagine hours passing without you noticing as you created this, and you must show us more. Have a very happy weekend xx

Thank you so so much Sue xx You have seen exactly how my drawing days/evenings can be and like over Christmas when most of my crafty stash is packed away these are the tools I keep to hand 24/7. I decided that this will be the year to share more of these and make me evaluate how much of my stash still packed away I really do need :D Wishing you a wonderful and creative weekend xx

That's absolutely gorgeous!! It's a very good drawing and the colouring, shadows and highlights are really well done. I hope you are proud of it, 'cause you should be!! ♥ So glad you took that brave step, and I hope you will continute to do so! xx

Thank you very much Bibi I really appreciate your comments. For many years my drawings have been concealed within my backgrounds of other artwork, it was good to actually show one unhidden & hope I get both time and chance to share more this year xx
