Tis the Season.. *Let it Snow..*

Good Morning everyone,

I see from the weather forecast that some of you may have woken up to
Snow today, we have been blessed with a Frosty dusting but boy is it cold....

Its time for another challenge over on the That's Crafty Challenge Blog
This fortnights theme is *Tis the Season* and i'm sure you all have some
Christmas/Seasonal makes you may care to share with us all??

This is my take on the *Tis the Season*..

Using a 4.5 x 9" Greyboard panel I mounted the waste from my
Greyboard snowflakes onto it.. it was far too pretty to throw away.

Three large snowflakes were dabbed
in Pearl Multi Surface Paint and heated to create texture.

The mounted panel was dry brushed with a combination of
Dark Blue, Ice Blue and Pearl paint
and holes punched at one end to enable the panel to be hung.

That's Crafty Texture Paste was pushed into the edges of the snowflakes
and when dry 3D Gloss Gel pushed into other areas of the snowflakes.
A light dusting of glitter has been sprinkled on top whilst still wet.

*Note to self*
Do not try and force dry as the Gel will become opaque and not dry clear.
Just like mine did (sadly..!)

Using double sided paper tape holds the wording secure whilst painting in
Textured Sand paste. When dry I dabbed on Pearl Multi Surface paint.

Layering up the Large Snowflakes I glued them onto the panel with a
complimentary flat back pearl added to the centre.

Edged in white embossing powder the lettering
is glued onto the bottom half of the panel.

Finally wire is added to act as a hanger
completing my *Let it Snow panel*.

I do hope you can join in with the *Tis the Season* Challenge over HERE
There's a That's Crafty Store Voucher worth £20 up for grabs for the chosen winner.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend

Love the textures and dimension here with all those fabulous pastes and the inset snowflakes - magically frosty!

Tracey@Hotchpotchcreations said...

Thank you Alison, I was a little upset that I tried to rush the drying process of the gloss gel which made it turn milky but it does add a nice contrast to the surrounding colours xx

Thank you very much Tracy, the snowflakes are fabulous to work on and their shape is so pretty xx

Absolutely ingenious to use the waste!!, I was looking at it wondering how you had achieved that background and thought you had made imprints of the snowflake. Just beautiful and gorgeously grungy. Xxx

Tracey@Hotchpotchcreations said...

Now that would have been ingenious to make imprints of the snowflakes.. Got me thinking about that one now. That waste really was too good to be discarded and I have a little of it left too YAY!! Thank you Jane xx

Tracey@Hotchpotchcreations said...

Thank you Anne, i'm a devil for trying to justify throwing anything away and if I can reuse it it's a real bonus, this seemed perfect for the job intended xx

Thank you so much Chris, it's a pleasure to join in Thank you to Susi for pointing me in the right direction xx

Just popped in to say your hanger is amazing. Love the way you popped in the gel into the cut outs and even though some of them became opaque, they look fabulous. I didn't know if you forced the gel it would become opaque....Thank you for the step by step and the inspiration x

Tracey@Hotchpotchcreations said...

Thank you so much. It was by accident that I discovered this but it may have been down to the amount used, i'm sure if it was done in small amounts and allowed to dry it may turn out clear but it would be a long process finding out. That maybe one to check on when the weather is warmer!! xx
