Whimsical Post Card Album ~ Paperbabe Sketch Challenge #71

Happy Friday Everyone,

It's challenge time over on the Paperbabe Stamps blog
where we have a sketch prompt for you this fortnight.

Use the picture prompt below to help you create,
flip it, turn it and use the *Paperbabe Stamp image* to add any sentiment
and let your imagination flow, create your unique creation and
share it with us over HERE.

There's a prize for one random winner.

Here's what I got up to using those prompts to create a postcard album.

Just before Easter I found a box full of inchies,
these I created in January 2017 using the Whimsical Woodland stamps.

They were the first of a 365 day challenge I took part in but failed miserably by April.
Seemed such a shame to keep them hidden away after finding them again..

Using five I created an inchie strip, this would be the topper on my album cover.

I have to admit i'm rubbish when it comes to numbers and i'd much rather create by
eye than abide to measurements but at times I need to be a little more precise.

This album I created using the size of a postcard adding a little extra either side.

Creating the cover first, I then cut all the album pages and created a
concertina spine to hold them all in place. I glued down some ribbon
to act as an album closure then started to put the album together.

It really is a labour of love cutting all those pages, gluing each one
to the spine holding them all together with strong bull dog clips until dry

... but I was quite pleased with the outcome!!

With the inchie topper and an embossed whimsical sentiment glued
onto the cover, my album is now ready to house my postcard Art.

I'm looking forward to filling it..

Thank you for sharing your time it's very much appreciated.

I hope you find time to check out the Design Team makes
and hope to see your take on the Sketch Challenge #71

Have a super weekend everyone

Creative Hugs
Tracey xx

p.s. thanks for your lovely comments on my blog, how great that you have visited this ice cream shop and I can understand you staying in North Shore as the years have passed by as it's far more civilized ...lol 😉. J x

Oh, I'm so glad those charming inchies got to come out and play - they are just lovely, and add just the right touch of whimsy to your smart, sleek album cover. The very idea of trying to commit to a 365 day challenge has brought me out in a sweat - looks as though you got quite a long way along compared to what I'd have managed this year!!

Oh my Susi Thank you.. A day of madness and problem solving but I think it turned out ok in the end hee hee. Hope you've had a super weekend.. xx

I was on a roll when I first started them but this was January 2017, life just got in the way and as soon as you miss a few the panic sets in to catch up. Least I found where I had put them ;)
Hope you've has a smashing weekend?? xx

Thank you Jo, I was worried it would be a little minimal with limited artwork on it, trying to save the creativity for the inside.
It's so lovely when similarities in life appear in bloggerland, I did giggle when I read about North Shore being more civilised; apart from the Hen Parties from Thursday to Sunday hee hee!! Miss the place must try and visit again soon xx

Hee hee oh Alison Thank you.. Those inchies were from last year, it brings me out in a cold sweat still thinking about how I failed that 2017 challenge. They may be small but they can take up lots of time. I have a couple of other projects on the go using up some of the others ;) xx

Tracey@Hotchpotchcreations said...

Thanks Alison, i'm glad i'm not the only one who finds numbers a puzzle hee hee xx

Tracey@Hotchpotchcreations said...

Thank you so much, i'm looking forward to that part too :) x

Hello Dear Dorthe, you do not need to rush to my posts they will be here for all to see whenever there is a spare moment in our lives. Happy that you like my Post Card Album, there isn't really a lot to see but it meets the Sketch criteria and hopefully shows people that may struggle with putting a design together by replicating an image that it can be as simple as this.
Hope you had a lovely weekend, mine has been busy playing catch up. Catch you in the week Dear and Thank you as always for your kindness xx

Hi Tracey, just trying to catch up with stuff after my busy weekend though I have to say it was fun and of course I came home with a few nice items! But what I've really come for is to see what you've been up to. This album is gorgeous! Love the way you've used the inchies and look forward to seeing what goes inside. Have a lovely week, Angela xXx

Oh my Autumn Thank you so much, it's really a work in progress but I will share it over at the Mini Album Makers although it's a very CAS design compared to everyone elses. Thank you for your kindness xx

Be still my heart. I adore inchies and these are absolutely the cutest! What a great way to bind a book as well. Love your mini and so happy you entered it in the Mini Album Makers Challenge blog.

I can totally see that this was a labour of love Tracey (I know how long it takes to make that kind of mini album!) but it was most definitely worth the time and patience. Those gorgeous inchies really did need somewhere to be displayed - I would never have been able to choose from that beautiful stack! Your postcard album is such a great size to display your wonderful works of art and I look forward to seeing what you fill it up with!

Thank you so much for joining in our challenge this month at Mini Album Makers. Hugs, Anne xxx

Tracey@Hotchpotchcreations said...

Thank you very much Nancy for your kind comments. A pleasure to add my modest little postcard carrier album to the list xx

Tracey@Hotchpotchcreations said...

You're most welcome Anne, I didn't even think to add it to the challenge as it's a work in progress really being used to house new art works.
It's a lot easier when you have all the pieces cut and you can put it all together and i'm sure you know only too well that sigh of relief when you glue in that final page hee hee xx

Ok, so those cute inchies are ADORABLE!!! I loved your tutorial, too. And...yes...I have a bag of inchies that are just...sad and lonely and need to be made into something. LOL Thanks so much for sharing your work with us at Mini Album Makers Challenge.
